It would be cool to see them continue the Beast family, sort of like the way they did with Hercules and Hydra at Dorney Park but with a RMC. The world needs more what-the-hell-is-that elements like on that project at Silver Dollar City. Though I have a hunch that they won't and they'll go with B&M. I dunno why. -

As much as I like to poke fun at some of the less-than-creative names they've come up with the past, their recent new coaster names haven't been too bad. Leviathan, Stinger, Diamonback, Behemoth, Prowler, etc... I won't be surprised if it's another generic animal name, but I don't think they're going to recycle an existing name for this one. -

http://www.visitkingsisland.com/online-ticket-options/christmas-in-july I take it "Christmas in July" is just to promote a cheap ticket and not actually bring out Winterfest stuff? -

I think it's safe to assume so because I doubt him passing out just sitting down would result in two major inspections of the ride. -

I've been looking through the news reports and they all seem to go off of the statement the park gave, all using the keyword "unresponsive". There's only one report I've seen so far that indirectly indicates that the man is ok. Not sure if it's just because of what the park issued but at least in my local area, they'd have the courtesy to say something about his condition even if it's unknown. http://www.wina.com/Kings-Dominion-Shuts-Down-Roller-Coaster/13782888 - This one even uses the word "dead" and doesn't say anything about a recovery so... Is the guy ok? -
^ They probably put it like that so people would stop freaking out... Another site contacted Moser about this. They explained that 2 alarm sensors were tripped and while the ride could still safely operate with those faulty sensors, Busch Gardens decided it would be best to keep it closed and have Moser come look at it. It's probably just some oversensitive sensors.
-
Perhaps they didn't account for that ugly decoration on the gondola when choosing the lifting mechanism? Moser has built a few park versions of their drop tower and I'm pretty sure they have many drop towers in carnival circuits so it's not like they're inexperienced or anything. Eventually it'll all be ironed out, same with Verbolten.

Is the most launched coasters thing actually used for marketing the park? Just seems more of a coincidence than a record that they're trying to get. When they're due for another coaster, I highly doubt they would get rides like a Zacspin or SurfRider or the recent S:UF by Premier. In recent years they've focused a lot on getting high capacity rides into the parks, and those rides mentioned don't scream capacity to me. Just because you've never waited for it doesn't mean it doesn't have the ridership. As an enthusiast, you'd probably go on a day without many lines anyway. Dragon Fire at CW, an old Arrow looper, was expected by many to be scrapped by now, but it was revealed to have the highest ridership among the other thrill rides in the park. I've never waited more than one or two cycles for it. -

Maybe it will be themed as a radioactive spill on the beach, educating young people pollution is bad. This ultimately leads to the unfortunate creation of a Lazer Snake Hawk that happens to be on fire. Now that that's out of my system, I thought the green track was for a coaster somewhere outside of North America (China, was it?). EDIT: This, http://www.rcdb.com/9114.htm, but I guess it could go to either there or CP, though I kind of doubt they would use green when they already have the very green Raptor. -

A video of Starlight Spectacular has shown up! It's a bit dark though. There's a new opening of the show (to replace the failure of the "Fireflies" scene), but the rest is pretty much the same with some tweaks. The dragon scene has been changed as the dragon now bursts through the falls part of the mountain. The squares/3D effects scene and the machinery/furnace scene are pretty much the same visually, but the music has been changed (IMO, this is the only change I don't like, it doesn't match). The ending has the same music but a bunch of visual changes. For one, the stars (which I had always thought was meant to poke at the former Paramount ownership) has been replaced by a coaster. "Happy 30th Birthday" has obviously been removed. -

Since the park seems really open about their history, any thoughts from them about the Footloose floorless B&M rumour? -
Do the lap bars on Grizzly have multiple positions or is it only one position only that is flush with the divider? And/Or can a large person be able to make it so that the lap bar isn't flush with the divider? It's possible (though silly) that the middle seatbelt is just an additional device to divide the two guests.

So I was wondering why the purple train on Wild Beast didn't have a logo on it. It turns out it's in a commercial for the government of Ontario! I was too busy watching the coaster to actually pay attention to what it was about. It's basically just a guy riding Wild Beast with a straight face the entire time. Anyone wanna fill me in on what this commercial was actually talking about? EDIT: Oh, here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AqhZxOJZy0 It's about Ontario savings bonds being on sale. -

Very good report, thanks! To be honest, I kind of feel like the location of Behemoth and Leviathan works out well despite the surroundings being backward. I think Behemoth is a more generic name that fits in better with Action Zone (is that what they're still calling it?) than Leviathan would. But then again, I'd be happy no matter what the two coasters are called. That B&M invert story is a total bummer. It could have taken up more space so we wouldn't have the Volare either. -

lol, they even included the loop from a neighboring coaster. Also, I see they've done away with the disaster countdown before the fireworks. The crowd would count too fast because the recording counted down too slowly. -

I've been meaning to ask, are there spiels for Leviathan that are being worked on right now? I haven't been to the park yet, but from what I've seen online, that abundance of speakers on the ride don't seem to be used. -

^ I think a lot of people's expectations were heightened after the ride opened to the public. Having a new station and area that fits great with the medieval theme, it just seemed underwhelming to have a tin can tunnel added a week later. Some blue paint and a mist machine would do wonders. I remember all of the comments about the irony in having Leviathan no where near water... Anyways, is Sledge Hammer up yet? -
