Most Disappointing Coaster!
storms555 replied to Beate's Freak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hmm I dont know I LOVE when coasters have super fast whipping transitions oppose to slower calmer ones just like I think ejector air is more then floater air.(nothing against floater air but i think ejector is better) Also I never fainted/blacked out on any ride. However I got really sick on carnie rides but never coasters. Come to think of it the only time I literally passed out was when i was sick and the doctor put giant cotton swabs up my nose.....lol. Also the fact I mostly take Dramamine before it go to carnival and amusement parks so my body wont get thrown off in anyway. -

If you dont mind me asking why I305? Its like a M-Force sized Maverick on steroids! I dream to ride this coaster! Im sure its loved because both M-force and Maverick are loved by a lot of coaster enthusiasts and this coaster kind of "combines" the two. -
I think this ride is a lot of fun! Its pretty much one of my favorite traveling carnival rides! Its flips you every which way which is really awesome! I had a friend with me at one time who wasnt a big fan of rides that went upside down. See was kind of naive and I told her nah dont worry it doesnt go upside at all..... So we get on it and it starts going then goes upside down! She then hit me on the leg and was like YOU LIED! but in a fun way of course. The two kids facing us,me,and even her all started to bust out in laughter. After that she actually enjoyed it and wanted to go on it a few times again!

Most Disappointing Coaster!
storms555 replied to Beate's Freak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I thought this was an interesting thread. I guess I got three hyped coasters that fall into this category for different reasons. 1. Kraken at Sea Orlando dont get my wrong this ride was a lot of fun!! However it banged me up a little that type of thing doesnt usually bother me but after got off i got a slight headache luckily it didnt last long. Also at some parts of the ride seemed sluggish. However I still thought the ride was fun. 2.The Beast I rode this long before I knew about its hype. but what i remember is wasnt drop dead breath taking amazing as many said it was. After the first drop I dont remember much of it other then a really intense helix/super shallow drop type element most of are far more coaster buffs then me....whats that element im talking about called? 3.Cornball at Indiana beach again I rode this long before I knew about its hype on here or anywhere for that matter. Matter of fact I rode it the same year I did Beast. Cornball was an ok ride and all. I didnt hate it seemed like ok fun. but not OMG THIS IS THE BOMB!!! fun like many here seem to think lol -
The Best Woodie under 75 feet Tall
storms555 replied to MagnumForce's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I would have to go with Bluestreak at CP even though its just 3 ft taller but really 3 feet doesnt make that much of a difference. The ride packed a punch and had plenty of airtime! However Cyclops which I seen mentioned is pretty neat too as I remember that small hill that gave you awesome ejector air! It caught us all by surprise. I dont get the hype about Cornball though it was an ok ride but nothing to get excited over. -
This was already said a ton of times I bet but: Magic Mountain and Cedar Point! They both are coaster capitals and even if they are both from different companies I think it would be awesome. I never been to MM but I want to go one day. I know CP is known for its world class breaking thrilling coasters and MM is known for its unique and very modern super fun coasters! Combined those both it would be a thrill seekers paradise!!!

^what? All because I'm a little impatient? Besides that I LOVE to have fun. Its not like im a compete sick in the mud....Yea my idea of fun may not be going to the clubs or going to some house party to smoke pot but I still like to do stuff that many other people will enjoy. Like amusement parks, carnivals, the beach, waterparks, arcades, the mall, site seeing, doing tourist attractions, exploring the city, going out to eat, drinking one in a while, going camping, traveling, etc. Its just at an amusement park you only have so much time in a day...heck in a weekend! The less time we waste the more time we have to do fun things. You are loosing precious time when you have to hunt down people for change or making sure all the wrinkles in your shirt are invisible, as much as possible ,after you had to "mess up your clothes" when you had to use the toilet. See where Im going here?

I HATE this locker rule! At any park. They did it when we were about to enter Sheikra at Busch Gardens. I'm going to sound nuts saying this but get this. You are really really really itchy to ride some coasters, but oops! the guy who stands at the ques say "nope you need to put that stuff in a locker!" so you have to find said lockers, and find to see them crowded. You then have to wait for it to clear out so you can get into one. It gets worse! You and everyone with you has no change and the dollar-to-change machine either has a long line or isnt even working at all. So you go around the park asking random people for change. No guests have any so you have to go into a store and ask the person working there. Finally you get the change and go to the locker hoping its not congested again. Then you have to shove all your stuff in those tiny tiny lockers. You could leave all your stuff at your car but when you need it you will have to walk to the parking lot each time! By the time you get back to the coaster its like 30 or so people lined up already....It makes me go crazy as the coasters are there yet so far away...Its like a drug addict looking right at his stash but being told not to smoke it yet...Its also why I hate when the people I'm with take 5 minutes to pee! I havent had the balls yet to tell my friend off for taking so long i just drop hints like "I was outside waiting for you and I thought you actually left me" I'd drop subtle hints each time she is taking 'till Christmas but never gets the hint. Might be blunt next time ok rant over!

Speaking of Japanese coasters.... I seen a lot of POVs of them and I wonder why do so many of the Japanese coasters have such shallow drops. Not all but a big majority of them do. Or not only do they have shallow drops but many lack elements and are mostly long straight track and long turns. Japan a country known for their technology, seems to have tame coasters compare to other parts of the world. -

I read somewhere in the Michigan Adventures thread that someone believed they would get rid of Magnum and give it to MA. I thought that was such a weird thing to say....Its such a classic awesome coaster why would CP even think to get rid of it?? Or replace it with something as mundane as a bigger wave pool.....Wave pools are cool and all but they will never replace the awesomeness of a roller coaster! That would be a dumb move for any amusement park to remove their classic coaster/s and put it in second or third rate amusement parks....(unless of course said park has closed for good) -

I think a 510 foot coaster or drop tower in general would be awesome! I hope we get a coaster and/or drop towers that tall some time in the future. It may be some what unthinkable to many people now but then again a lot of the mega coasters we have now Im sure were unimaginable at some point. Im sure in lets say the 60s a coaster like Magnum probably was probably not thought to be possible and was only part of a kids imagination or something. -
^^^ Yea I went on the last day as well! I remember it was very nice out for a November day in Chicago however I was saddened that AE was closed as well. ^My SFGam wooden coaster list would go: 1.Goliath !!! Heck its often my favorite coaster at the park in general its often interchangeable with Raging Bull 2.American Eagle Good old out and back woodie with a nice high and steep first drop as well. Fun when they race and was really awesome when one went backwards 3.Viper. I dont remember it have the airtime like it used to but its still a lot of fun. I love the "head chopper" drops and how closed in a lot of the coaster structure is which makes it a little unique I never been on Little Dipper before though as I never been to Kiddieland sadly So I dont have any connection to it nostalgia wise and it probably doesnt have any thrill factor so we skip it. You know when there is long lines and only so much time the not as great coasters tend to take a backseat or not be ridden at all. Thats how it is for me at least. Who knows maybe ill try it out if its a really dead day.

Who cares about a shed when just a couple hours north, there's a shiny new RMC under construction. -
Game: When was the last time you...
storms555 replied to onewheeled999's topic in Random, Random, Random
One of those cheap Mcdonalds/Wendy's Frosty type shakes probably several months ago however Its been a few years since I had a REAL shake. Not many places around here seem to have them....man now I want one so bad...that one looks sooo good by the way! When was the last time you shopped at a candy shop? -
As much as I remember loving Twister, and some what missing it because Im into natural disasters, I do remember it not being as good as I remembered. The first time I went on it when I was 9. The second time I just turned 25. At 9 I thought it was the sh*t! Also I was up in the front. The second time though it didnt seem as cool and I was in the back row. Im guessing its because it was amazing as a child but not so much as an adult but in all honesty it seemed they got rid of features. I dont know...it might of just been that i grew up. As a child I remember seeing things get torn apart, things burst into flames, semi truck going though the "air" and the wind being so strong I could barely breath! As an adult I just remember signs tipping over, some sparks,a small fire, only a light breeze, no buildings coming apart and no "debris" There was the cow but suddenly it seemed so fake compare to when i was a kid. Im just guessing its the whole old "things look so much coolier when you are little then when you get older" thing. Oh and not to mention it had gross sour vinegary sweaty "dirty moldy bath towel" type smell to it.... you know how sometimes dirty wet things get that nasty smell after drying for some reason

Oh see, yea,I was mostly in the hotels and "tourist-y" areas not so much the residential or industrial areas. Probably because when we went it was only for CP mostly. We took one day off to do other things but that was just going to a park to hang out,to the beach, then to a petting zoo near by. All which if I remember wasnt in bad areas either. But then again i was only there for 4 or 5 days and mostly doing stuff so I didnt notice all that. Also what someone said about Wisconsin Dells...in a way it kind of reminded me a little of Wisconsin Dells too....I guess thats a strange mix...Discount Wisconsin Dells meets Florida Town meets Detroit(the part i didnt see but Ill mention since people mentioned the rough areas empty lots etc). Now thats are weird combo! -

I dont know...I only been there once and I dont remember it really being a rough town...then again I live in Chicago so that probably explains a little why I didnt think it was that bad of an area lol. It wasnt amazing either,no,but still wasnt "ghetto" either. I just think I liked the area because it looks some what unique and reminded me kind of a Florida town. -

A good rule of thumb is that if spell check doesn't know what you are trying to say, then you shouldn't post it. Im not gonna not post something I want to say because spell check isnt working with me.... -

Although we didnt eat there when we went that picture looks oddly familiar! How weird. I thought Sandusky was a neat and unique town when I went so maybe thats why even simple things stick out to me. For some reason it reminded me of a casual Florida town but of course without the palm trees. Im pretty sure places like Put-in-Bay would remind me even more of a Florida town. However I never been there but I seen photos and videos of the Islands. -

^Sorry I didnt mean to get upset I guess its just a touchy subject for me...nothing against anyone here. I think im more angered at myself then anyone because I struggle so much with spelling to the point even spell check doesnt know what im trying to say half the time. Sometimes I have to send the misspelling and hope no one notices or cares,or I just replace it with another word that means the same thing. For example gift shop items oppose to the other word.....lol Just like I call the giga coaster at Cedar Point M-Force instead by its full name. Or called the home of I305 Kings D instead of its whole name.... -

Go to Conneaut if you don't want to drive that far... it's nice. They have great suvaneers such as slap chops and E coli. Uhh I rather not....nothing against the park but there isnt many rides to choice from. Not to mention I heard its closed a lot of the time and didnt hear to much good things about it. Also please dont take the p*ss out of my spelling I use spell check but sometimes spell check cant even recognize my misspellings...It just happens. Instead of spellcheck giving me the correct spelling it gave me other words like maneuver....I could of used that instead but you know that wouldnt make sense....yea... Next time Ill just call it gift shop items. -

Obviously I think everyone should come to Great Adventure because its a great park despite it being a Six Flags park and we have one of the best lineups anywhere - our locals are spoiled. If I lived anywhere else I'd be jealous. Not to mention anyone with even a passing interest in coasters needs to ride Toro. Also, Kings has a great lineup other than I305. Obviously I love the sh*t outta that thing and it was why I visited, but Volcano and Dominator are both high quality, and their supporting line-up is also pretty rock solid IMO. They have a ton of solid coasters of all types, and a couple great flats. The park is also a fairly nice park - Aesthetically I like it better than the other two CF parks I've been to (Cedar Point & Dorney). Its grittier and has more personality. However, if this is a family trip I'd skip both and go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, especially if Kings is a serious contender. Because its not much further and there's more for everyone to do (shows, animals, beer), not to mention the park is WONDERFUL NICEST PARK EVER! and they do have some great thrill rides and coasters. Oh that sounds like a cool idea too. Busch Gardens. Both sound like a neat idea honesty. As long as it has thrill rides you know? I did want to try Disney World even though its not the most thrilling when it comes to rides because I never been there and its like the king of theme parks. However when i found out we might drive instead I kind of noped out of that. We would end up killing each other! Also when my mom asked me to give suggestions too I decided to pick a place thats more thrilling and even if it will be somewhat a drive it wont be no where as long as Florida...There wont even be room to lay and spread out as there was be many of us.... I did long road trips before but never with tons of people and never that long. Im so used to the concept of planes that when my mom pointed out at some SUV riding past us and said "we would take a care like THAT" I thought she meant as in a rental car when get there and I was in mind "whats the big deal...? until she said we'd actually drive there! -
Going to parks alone?
storms555 replied to alilstronger's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I never been to a full sized amusement park alone before however I did go into Adventuredome alone but we were staying that hotel anyways so its no biggie. However there was times Id break up with family and go off on my own. As for friends Id just stay with them at all times. I never thought of going to one on my room because Im afraid people will think im weird. However there is times I did wish I can go alone so I can ride what i want when I want! I know that may sound selfish but it gets annoying after a while when someone needs to take a bathroom break every half hour to an hour and then take 5 or more minutes to just pee! I mean wtf! Or when they want to go on the Spider spinning carnie ride and you want to go to the 200+ tall coaster right next door wasting all your time in line for a stupid carnie ride while you can be going on a ride tons time better! So yea there was many times I wish I can just take a trip to a park on my own. I dont drive but hey at least there is public transport. Oh and when I want to Cedar Point last summer the friend I was with was nice enough to let me go off alone while she needed a break. She gets sensory overload easily so she often needs breaks then there is my continuous needs for thrills,so its nice of her to let me go off on my own.
