  1. I assume XLR8R is Xcelerator. Hydraulic launches are always better than electromagnetic and Montezooma's Revenge is my favorite launched coaster, even over Xcelerator at the same park, which I also love. 0-55 in 4.5 seconds may be slower than the 0-82 in 2.3 seconds but the intensity of the actual takeoff is second to none.
  2. I hope Chance continues to develop cool coasters like Lightning Run in his memory. RIP. My wife suffered bipolar depression for years.
  3. Not what I meaning. A ride or two is not my point. I was trying to say that if you are going for the rides then don't go during Haunt. SS, Jaguar, Timber Mountain, the Calico Mine Ride at Knott's are all fun during Haunt. TM, CMR, and the Jaguar temple are themed like a maze and in the old days so was Kingdom of the Dinosaurs.
  4. Knott's is the original. It is still the largest in the world and the best. Crowds are an not an issue at these things because you aren't going for the rides, but the mazes and the scares. Ride lines can be super long but only a fool goes to ride rides. Mazes on the other hand are constantly moving.
  5. That's somewhat of a mute point when you would have to change back and forth with just a water park and to the car in the first place. I don't change for the car.
  6. I love waterparks, but I don't see the point of combined parks. It is a hassle to change back and forth. Most waterparks won't let you even wear watershoes but the amusement park won't let you go on rides barefoot.
  7. That is the very question originally posited in this very post. What constitutes upside down? Mutemule.
  8. It's old. They really need a bigger better resort. Start from scratch.
  9. Judging from this, it seems like that one overbank on KBF's Silver Bullet is either a little bit below or just hits the threshold between overbank and inversion. It is very close.
  10. How not? The body is rotated 180 degrees relative to it's position. You were facing down, then you were facing up. Inversion.
  11. Did you know that it was built in 1974 as the Buena Park Hotel as one of the premier hotels in north Orange County. It eventually began to deteriorate and show its age and the owners couldn't afford to bring it back to its former glory. In 1998 CF gave the owners of the hotel an offer they couldn't refuse. CF brought it up to Radisson standards, which was still a few steps below where it used to be. The irony is that those previous owners finally had the money they needed. They bought an aging hotel up the street and turned it into one of the better hotels around the park.
  12. Cannibal, because it's four hours away and actually doable. Maybe it's just me, but I don't see a reason this thread should be brought back to life. It's very similar to this thread: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=60058&hilit=Coaster+bucket+list&start=300 And that (^) thread has much more recent post in it, and it's actually talked in a lot compared to this thread. The most recent post was Dec. 2, 2015. This post I am currently quoting is April 2016. Which is more recent?
  13. I disagree that Splash Mountain is the obvious answer. SM are primarily a dark ride, in my opinion. The flume aspect is almost secondary, merely acting as the ride vehicle. I think Timber Mountain rivals SM as the obvious answer.
  14. PP was a shoot the chute. It closed because no one rode it anymore.
  15. The rider must at some point be rotated 90 degrees. The tilted loop would count because the rider was rotated 90 degrees from their previous position.
  16. It's actually quite nice compared to before CF took over control. But yes, they need something better.
  17. WAIT till I've stayed at the Knott's Berry Farm Hotel (in September), before you demolish it all for future HEXpansion! But I'm building you a better one HEXpansion?
  18. But flat flumes are slow. You think slow is fun? Okay. Whatever floats your boat, er log. BWhaaaaa!!!!! No seriously, if you like flat flumes then cool. I don't, but this is America.
  19. Flat log flumes are dank. Build it inside a mountain structure or on a real hillside, but not on flat ground. "dank" dank- adjective: wet and cold in a way that is unpleasant. If I'm going to be wet and cold on a log flume I'd rather it be fun. Flat ground is unpleasant.
  20. This is my dream Knott's Berry Farm expansion project. It's still a work in progress of course. Oh, and if anyone is wondering Independence Hall has been moved brick by brick and rebuilt inside the park as part of the new Colonial themed entrance pavilion.
  21. Does anyone know if the two dirt parking lots across the street to the north and west of the park are off limits to park expansion because of noise concerns?
