Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
psaulaferraz replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just saw this, it was a typo, obviously it was around 10M. I've edited the post, but the sum up of prices was still correct so it makes a lot of sense. -
[POLL] RMC Mean Streak 2017 or 2018?
psaulaferraz replied to LeoBruz199's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I think that the point of forums is that everyone can give his opinion and debate (politely). Bill is completely free of giving his opinion on everything as much as he wants, as this causes debate and the debate causes entertainment, which is another of the main points of forums. -

Definetly, put me on team 2017. It's strange that they don't have announced it yet, but it's still possible, and remember the tendency of CF last years: 1 rehab/GCI and 1 big coaster. This year there would be a 2 rehabs and a GCI, but the price would be even smaller to what CF spent 2 years ago (I couldn't find info about 2016): 2015 Total -> 31-32 Million $ -Fury 325 ->30,000,000$ -Rougarou Rehab -> Between 1,000,000$ and 2,000,000$ 2017 Total -> 27-28 Million $ -Mystic Timbers -> Unknown, but Prowler was 8,000,000$ -Patriot Rehab -> Between 1,000,000$ and 2,000,000$ (Maybe less, cause it has only 2 trains) -RMC Streak -> New Texas Giant (similar size) was 10,000,000$ Talking about prices I think it has a lot of sense (given the facts). I don't think either 2017 or 2018 options are the best marketing and timing wise, but at this pace I really believe that Meaner Streak is for next year. -

^I could imagine a launch ala Maverick/Lightning Rod but after LR problems for being unreliable I don't see CF going for it knowing what they have done in the past (Reliable, Rerideable Crowdpleasers). Also, Maverick will be few meters away, so as it's possible, it doesn't has a lot of sense to put a launch (except if it is for the speed record). -

PointBuzz just uploaded this pictures to it's Facebook. So I guess RMC is (even more) pretty much confirmed at this point. -
Phantasialand Discussion Thread
psaulaferraz replied to roeterich's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^This are very good news. Phantasialand is an amazing Park, easily a European top 10. It's only lack is quantity, because the quality of Black Mamba and Taron/Klugheim is incredible. I can't wait to hear more news about this. If it starts to get bigger and bigger it could be on par with Europa soon! -

^Well, I know that at least they take people from Spain. There is a program which organizes everything, from the interview with CP to the lodging... A friend of my brother went there this year. -

PortAventura Discussion Thread
psaulaferraz replied to Shockwave's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Today PortAventura had a power cut during some hours. Both DK and Shambhala trains got stuck at the MCBR and they had to evacuate them. Also, Tutuki Splash got stuck in the second lift. All of this happened while EAS was hosted by PortAventura this week!! -

By the way, I also saw that in capte people was talking about Portaventuras's website, as they have added a new tab which is about the prices of Ferrari Land. There aren't any numbers by the moment, but there are two rows. I think one will be separate admision and the other one a combo with PA. What do you think? -

Best park for coasters in EUROPE
psaulaferraz replied to Henry M's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hi! In this post I'm going to suggest you some parks with trip options, separated by countries. I think that if you do a trip you should have a "main park" and go to smaller things that are near to it. I counted insane OMFG roller coasters and I also suggested other parks which are near to them, so in this way you can try as many things as possible (without having them to be all ultra INSANE 5G and -2G rides). Spain: In Spain we don't have lot's of coasters but you can do a nice trip which is: Barcelona (even Tibidabo) - PortAventura - Madrid - Parque de atracciones de Madrid (urban amuseument park with a rare but fun Intamin Inverted and a Maurer Skyloop) - Parque Warner Madrid (Theme park previously owned by Six Flags, with Batman clone, B&M Floorless and one of the most reliable GIB's). England: If you are English and you've not been to Alton you must do a tour with Alton Towers and Blackpool Pleasure Beach (next year if possible, with the new GCI woodie and the Mack Multi-Launch). Thorpe is also really good. Germany: I think you can separate Germany in North and South. In the south you have the Europa-Holiday Park-(Tripsdrill) combo where you have one of the best parks in the world and one of the best coasters in the world. In the north you have Phantasia-Hansa-Heide which really makes for an awesome coaster tour. Belgium/Holland: I will put this two countries together because they are really close. You can also include this parks to a German trip. In Belgium you have Walibi which has a Intamin Mega and a Mack Multi-Launch (so you won't be disappointed). Walibi Holland isn't as good but you can spend some hours there. Efteling is one of the best themed Parks in the world and Toverland has one if not the best GCI out there: Troy. Also, Boobejaland it's good. Sweden: You have an awesome 3 park combo with an RMC, an Intamin woodie, a Mack Multi Launch and Gröna Lund, with now 2 amazing Drop Towers and other good rides. Sweden is becoming one of the European coaster landmarks. Italy: Mirabilandia is the main one (Katun, iSpeed) but Gardaland still has a solid collection with two good B&M's and other solid rides. There are other parks such as Cinnecità World and Rainbow Magicland which are not as Coaster-Oriented but aren't bad by any mean. Hope this helps you and you spend a great time. Ride on! -
Whats The Weather Like Where You Live?
psaulaferraz replied to RtherBOnACoaster's topic in Random, Random, Random
I live in Catalonia, a part of Spain which is where Port Aventura is located. Although you may think that my weather is perfect, I live in a slightly inner part of the zone and it feels like a desert. You can have about seven days in a row with maximum temperatures of 100ºF (35-40 ºC) and you have no humidity, which makes it even worse. In the winter you have the other side of the coin: a lot of fog and 30 to 40ºF degrees from late November to early March. -
For me it's stressful to post in the Alphabet Coaster Game thread, because I always feel that someone is going to put the next coaster before me and I will have to start again another time.
