I realize that my comment came off as a "this is an epidemic and is going to keep happening at all the park," but wasn't what I meant. I just thought their statement about it came off as "Eh, he just hit something in the pool the wrong way, no big deal." It's obviously is a fairly big deal and what ever caused it should be addressed to avoid it in the future, which is what they could have said. No need to school me on the history of Sea World and their expertise in caring for animals. Having spent the better part of a decade working at an animal park, I'm aware accidents happen. I just didn't care for their response to it.

NEWS: Wet n' Wild Las Vegas Announced!
Double0Kevin replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Here's the flyover they posted to youtube. I'm a little more convinced that this will happen now. -
What I typically do is hit WOC for the first show then head into DL during the fireworks. Once the fireworks end they clear out the first Fantasmic crowd and start letting the other group 30 mins prior to the show start. If I had to choose between the two, personally I would go with WOC as it's a little more visually impressive and faster paced. This is also based on the fact that Fantasmic has been around 20 years so it's a little older to me. On a side note, Roger Rabbit is now on the main FB system so don't count on that not counting when you are trying to double up. I believe at this point, Screamin' is the only one left.

Those cables where there before the accident. They are for maintenance, not glorified rescues for poor innocent riders that stall all the... once. You guys are developing conclusions off of nothing but your own observations and guesses. Those cable hoist a spider lift, the same type of man lift that they suspended from a crane to erect the ride. They are commonly used to get to hard to get spots on rides for maintenance needs. The crane has also been there since the opening of the ride and is not a direct result of the accident, though it's there just in case there is a valley(per OSHA, not the park or manufacturer).

The BEST roller coaster view EVER???

OMFG THATZ SO KEWL LOLZ!!!1 But seriously, I wish we had something even remotely that awesome in the US. -
I remember reading last year right before Transformers 3 was released that Bay pulled off getting that Pain and Gain movie made because he agreed to Transformers 4. Apparently he had been turned down numerous times and even Paramount acknowledged it would probably be a failure but was worth the gamble if they got another Transformers out of him. Definitely BS that he's claiming it was the ride that changed his mind now.

WOAH! That's amazing that you already know how great GS is! Maybe we should just keep the CGA fanboy predictions to a minimum. Superman has proved to be an amazing ride, I'm sure GS will be great to. But I have to agree that it's hard to compare a wooden twister to a steel launcher. Vastly different experiences that cater to different tastes.

SFDK's was closed as a precaution while the St. Louis incident was investigated, nothing has happened on SFDK's. Star Flyers are all over the world and don't have regular issues like this. I wouldn't lump them together. Plus it doesn't sound like Windseekers have a serious mechanical issue, more of a poorly thought out way to get the ride to come down when it shuts down as designed. I'm not sure how accurate that assumption is, but there it is.

The trims have never been used... ever. While the one on the lift has the brake skis on it, the one after the Zero-G never received them. If Medusa ran all hard plastic wheels then it would go faster (too fast) and need significant trimming, however it runs a mix of hard plastic and polyurethane (hard plastic is just on one car) that keeps the ride at a good pace without needing any trimming (with the exception of the small amount in the MCBR). The majority of polyurethane wheels is also a big reason why Medusa is one of the smoothest and best aged floorless coasters. That's been there for a while, pretty much since the incident. I believe it's a pulley system so that workers/rescuers can easily get up if there's a problem. It was there before the incident, it's not a direct result of it.

This was the first thing that popped in my head. I hate carrying so many cards at all times but if I take them out of my wallet I will forget them when I actually need them. Seeing how my iPhone is rarely more than a foot away from me, this would be great to have for my season passes. I'm confused... if you had a 4S, only way to go is downgrade up until next week when the 5 comes out. The laws of the universe don't allow for the phrase "I upgraded from an iPhone to an Android" to even exist or make sense.

I didn't even know SF was doing "Gold Passes" now, but I assume they will do it like they did when you bought a parking pass in the past and just scan the bar code on your voucher and then let you in just like they would do if they scanned your season pass. Usually the park opens SP Processing right away since they are doing their end of the year push for 2013 Pass sales and typically have a lot of people processing, that said I would wait till the evening to process when the crowds are typically much smaller, unless you go there first thing before any rides. Also the toll booths take credit cards so I wouldn't worry about carrying cash.

This. I think it's great, they haven't done much for kids lately so it's kind of the right time for it. Anyone know if they are they still planning to make the mods to Volcano that were rumored a while back? I haven't heard much on that in a while. PS, I like how their website says the announcement is still 2 hours away. Haha. -
Golden Ticket Awards 2012 Results
Double0Kevin replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I like the idea of a TPR Awards. Have the polling done on the TPR Forums for everyone at a certain number of posts (that way people can't just keep re-registering to stuff the ballot) and then have a more honest award pool from people that are obviously more in touch with the current theme park world. Some of these are a JOKE. Transformers should be high on the New for 2012 list, if not #1. Also the Best Food? I'm thinking Epcot should be #1 with DCA a close second with all the new stuff they added (Carthay Circle anyone?). Not to mention the already stated and obvious Park list (I love CP but come on...) and the ride lists (MF is not #1 and I305 is NOT #12). Amusement Today should be ashamed of this pathetic excuse of awards. alright... end rant. -
NEWS: Wet'n'Wild is coming to Sydney!

Not gonna lie... this place looks pretty awesome. How often do you see a park that big open all at once. Impressive. And this is all coming from someone who hates waterparks.
