Totally makes sense. Having worked on a Dual A-Frame for many years, we rarely used both flight lines and when we did it was only for a short period of time to take care of a sudden rush. I agree that one flight line makes it look a little more special than 2 going all the time. Can't wait to make it out to Florida and see all of your improvements! -

Awesome. That thing is a beast. It's always weird to see a lattice Skycoaster painted. I think SFMM is the only other one that is painted, but I personally think they look better painted rather than bare steel. Are you guys only having one flight line or two? All the artwork I've seen shows one launch tower but I've never seen a single on a Lattice, and it also looks like there are 2 flight brackets. -
^ Finding Nemo was definitely not one of Pixar's worst. I was loved by critics and audiences alike. I would even say it's up there with the Toy Storys and Up as one of the best. I would say both Cars and Brave are on the lower end of quality from Pixar. I thought Paranorman had a shot at winning but only a slim one. I believe Jack Black made the best joke when Wall-E won. When asked why he was rooting for Wall-E he said he had a system, do a Dreamworks movie every year and then bet the paycheck on a Pixar movie. It doesn't really matter, 9 times out of 10 the academy is going to go with Pixar. And Frankenweenie was garbage, we get it Tim Burton, you are goth... ohhhh.. Switching away from Oscars now, I saw Safe House this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt some of it was predictable, especially when you find out who was feeding the bad guys info, but overall a satisfying and fairly smart action film that was well acted by both leads.

I just typically limit myself on ride they make me nauseous. Spinners aren't always my friends so i try to space them out and limit the one they aren't very fun to me otherwise (I don't care for tea cup rides in general for example, so I rarely ride). One ride that got me a couple times was Harry Potter, where I needed to take a break afterwards for a little while, but that didn't stop me from riding it again.

This makes me want to dance and shout and be happy. No one ever seems to think about the cost to keep these rides up. People seem to think you pay the one big price and you are done. I'm guessing that Outlaw Run's track style will likely make maintenance significantly lower because of the topper track design, but there will always be more work put into a wooden ride than a steel coaster. And $10 million for a wooden coaster is pretty costly, especially for one with a somewhat short track length. The thing that will make it worth it is that it's still going to be a great ride and likely remain popular for many many years, so parks won't mind paying a little extra to get a lot out of the ride.

Also allows for them to open the season with a dolphin show if Cirque isn't ready yet. Also I doubt Cirque will play past summer because of the actors and production and what not, so they will still have a show to entertain guests during the rest of the year. How have other SF parks done their Cirque shows? I want to say the one at SFoT was only summer months, right?

From Screamscape This sounds about right to me. They have a lot of dolphins at the park and Shouka... uhh Toyota Stadium is the largest capacity venue at the park. Makes sense to have it used. It makes a huge difference on a busy summer day to pull 3,500 people off the midways for 30-45 mins. Helps keeps lines for rides and food stands short. Ironically this is the second stadium at the park to be called Toyota Stadium. Chabot Stadium was called Toyota for a few years when Ski Xtreme was around.

Ditto, and the moment I visited WDW the whole "which resort is better" argument suddenly disappeared. I realized that you can't compare the two. They are completely different. And if you really want to compare them, Californians are going to be sad with the result. Just be happy with the fact that they are both awesome places to visit. He means exactly what he's explained a million times. Most of Disneyland's attendance comes from local markets (California, Nevada, and Arizona). So the guests are "locals." Disney World draws its crowds more from distant travelers from the Northeast, Midwest, the South, Texas; as well as international markets like Europe, South America, Africa, etc.
-
^ And I think that the best argument that Disneyland is a regional park. Disney World is known everywhere and when people plan a trip to a Disney resort, they obviously choose World over Land. WDW is in a whole different league when it comes to tourism. Disneyland just doesn't come close to the worldwide appeal of WDW. It's still successful, obviously, but like Robb has said many times, yet everyone wants to debate it, they are successful with local markets and don't see the same numbers of tourists from all over the world like WDW is used to.

^ The difference is that the Maverick tunnel is built as it's own structure around a steel track where as Gold Striker's is attached to the actual ride structure. It's going to have a lot more movement in it that aren't likely going to allow flickering lanterns to safely survive in the tunnel. Roar's standard lift lights used to go out all the time because the bulbs with shake loose or shatter from all the shaking in the structure. I could maybe see some themed lanterns at the entrance to the tunnel, but once inside I'm sure it will be just wood. It's actually called the "Star" Tower, hence the stars. I personally think the current paint job is just fine. It's better than the plain white that it used to be.

Well... not a complete loop. The brakes and transfer station aren't up yet as seen on the last page. But these are definitely the last 2 big ones! Looking at those pics again... the little hop next the the station is going to be insane. The head choppers above mixed with what looks like some decent airtime will be awesome.
