  2. There are no more free fluffy, fluffy bunnies filled with medicine and goo! So Six Flags decided that...

  5. SkyRider was amazing but, I don't think converting it to a sit-down would have helped it stay around at the park a little longer. I personally thought it was great as a stand-up coaster because of the airtime on the first hill. I also rode SkyRider with my hands in the air. One speculation some of the GP had when SkyRider was announced for removal last year was that "The reason why SkyRider is being removed is because it killed someone!". It was completely untrue so, I found it quite funny because the people I heard saying this were the ones waiting in line to ride it!.

  7. Yes, business is booming as they've added something new pretty much every year for the past five years, they've had an increase of season pass sales for the past few years, and seasonal attendance has been at an all time high for the past 5-6 years. I'm actually glad they have made some smaller additions recently as they're all great (except WMG) and I look forward to next year's ride additions, which are Skyhawk and Flying Eagles. Another thing I've heard from the GP is that Canada's Wonderland is the "worst-valued" park in the way of admission price. Clearly they have no idea what they're talking about as Canada's Wonderland has 69 rides compared to other parks which have less rides and charge more for admission. But, the best deal to get is a season pass if you plan on visiting more than twice per season. I've been a season pass holder for 5 years now and the park keeps on getting better and better each season except when the park decided to remove SkyRider, which was an amazing stand-up coaster but luckily it's now operating at Cavallino Matto in Italy as Freestyle!
  8. I just heard today, from someone who lives nearby Canada's Wonderland is that the park is bankrupt due to the additions of Behemoth and Leviathan. They're more than likely in debt and paying off Behemoth and Leviathan as they were quite expensive additions but, definitely not bankrupt as if they were bankrupt, they wouldn't be able to add new additions and the park would be put up for sale. Also, from the same person, the park is "same-old" as they haven't added anything new in the past 7 years. That is clearly wrong because Behemoth was added in 2008, Windseeker was added in 2011, Leviathan in 2012, Wonder Mountain's Guardian in 2014, and Slingshot, Typhoon, and Splash Station were added in 2015. And next year, Skyhawk and Flying Eagles will be added to the park. So, if those aren't additions to a park, then I don't know what is. I also think that same person were unaware that Behemoth and Leviathan were added within the past seven years. They also claim that the park will be closing after next year because it's the least visited amusement park. Well, they're wrong again as Canada's Wonderland is the most visited Seasonal amusement park in North America with over 3.5 million visitors last year. So, it was quite funny listening to this person tell their friends about Canada's Wonderland's financial situations and "zero" ride additions.

  12. No, Shockwave is still at the park and there are no plans of removal to their already amazing flat ride collection, just additions. Also, as pproteinc has stated, the arms of Shockwave are blue. Also, the restraints on Shockwave are black and not green. This Mondial Topscan appears to have a very interesting metallic colour scheme. It would be neat to think about what it could be called even though this ride hasn't been announced yet. I am glad to see that more amazing Mondial rides are appearing at other Cedar Fair parks that Canada's Wonderland has had for years!
  13. Here is a photo of Wanda City Theme Park's inverted coaster manufactured by Beijing Shibaolai Amusement Equipment. Isn't it just amazing how there are no side-rails on the seats of this coaster? Well, we all know Chinese knock-offs are very special contraptions. Does anyone know how long these coasters actually last? Photo taken by VHCoasters
  14. I enjoy zero-g rolls seen on such coasters like Hydra the Revenge and Talon at Dorney Park. I also enjoy the bat wing on such coasters like Vortex at Kings Island.
  15. Okay, I just couldn't think of the term "wing coaster" at the time. The reason as to why I said floor-less is because of the seats on the outside of Skyrush's train. B&M makes a true floor-less coaster and they're great. Yeah, I don't understand either how Intamin stays in business spending a lot of money on R&D. I believe the only reason as to why they're still around is because of the rides they manufacture, not their coasters. But, one thing I can say is that Intamin did create the first launched "Wing coaster" with Furius Baco at PortAventura in 2007 and then once again with U-shaped Roller Coaster (SBNO) at Victory Kingdom in 2013 before B&M had with Thunderbird at Holiday World this year. But, interestingly enough, Intamin's launched wing coasters have two different launch methods, the first being hydraulic and the seconds being LSM.
  16. I thought SkyRider at Canada's Wonderland was an amazing stand-up coaster considering it was manufactured by TOGO as it gave a comfortable ride and gave quite a bit of airtime. I'm glad to see it got a second life at Cavallino Matto as Freestyle in Italy. As for a "time warp ride" I think you are referring to the Chance Double Inverter. Those rides do look uncomfortable as all they do is just go around and flip upside down slowly for a long duration of time. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy rides that go upside down and sometimes hold you suspended but, I don't overly enjoy upside down rides that have repetitive ride cycles.
  17. I think the floor-less hyper coaster train design made by Intamin was kind of a failure because Skyrush at Hershey Park is the only Intamin coaster of its kind to date. I am quite sure people prefer floor-less coaster to have inversions so, that is why B&M has been successful with their floor-less coasters oppose to floor-less coasters with no inversions that Intamin has only produced once. Also, Intamin was a little behind the time with floor-less coasters as the first one was produced by B&M in 1999 which is Medusa/Bizarro at Six Flags Great Adventure as Intamin opened SkyRush at Hershey Park in 2012. Also, I've heard that Skyrush is very uncomfortable.
  18. Is it just me or does that yellow thing in the center-back of the conceptual art picture look like a Huss Jump 2?
  19. Really? I thought Invertigo was great when I had rode it last year for the first time last year. Maybe you find it rough because you possibly haven't rode a Vekoma SLC before? I'm with you on this one. We didn't find Invertigo rough at all. We actually found ourselves wanting to ride it again. Yeah, I rode it twice during my visit last year. Some people just find anything that moves to be rough!

  21. I've experienced three rough coasters and they are Flight Deck, Time Warp, and Wild Beast. I just don't understand how such an amazing park such as Canada's Wonderland can have three completely unenjoyable coasters. Canada's Wonderland should improve upon them or just get newer (or better) models of the coaster. I know when Flight Deck was opened back in 1995 as Top Gun, there was a ban in place created by Cedar Point not to build a B&M inverted coaster at any parks within a certain radius of their park as Raptor had opened in 1994. So, Canada's Wonderland didn't want to wait a couple of years so, they decided to go to Vekoma with their newly created SLC as they started manufacturing them in 1994. Hopefully one day Canada's Wonderland receives a B&M inverted coaster as they're just amazing and enjoyable to ride compared to the head bashing SLCs. I'm surprised Flight Deck was able to see its 20th year this year. I wonder how much longer it will last? As for Time Warp it opened up in 2004 as Tomb Raider: The Ride. I think the park should have gone with B&M or Vekoma instead of building a cheaper and uncomfortable flying coaster by Zamperla. I think the Volare model would be better if there was more padding in the cars and the banked turns had a smoother transition. The only good thing about Time Warp apart from getting off are the barrel rolls. Now, for Wild Beast, the last and only time I had rode it was back in 2010. It is quite rough and unenjoyable. I know they've done some re-tracking during the 2014/2015 off-season but, that was only on the first drop. I'm too traumatized to get back on. But, I do ride Mighty Canadian Minebuster and Ghoster Coaster and have been on other wooden coasters outside the park such as The Racer and Woodstock Express at Kings Island back in July of 2014 and I've also been on Thunderhawk at Dorney Park back in June, which was quite enjoyable. So, hopefully we will see the replacement of Time Warp, and Flight Deck with B&M versions of those coasters and a complete re-track of Wild Beast. Does anyone know how Wild Beast rode this year compared to 5 years ago? If it's as smooth as Mighty Canadian Minebuster (which I highly enjoy) then I may consider riding it again.
