  1. But they have put an investment into it. Will they drop it that quickly if they don't get their ROI this year? Also, did they get some sort of sponsorship with Samsung? If so we may be in for the duration of a contract.
  2. Not arguing any of your points (especially the last one). But since we waited in line for 45 minutes and walked by 3 signs explaining the procedure (with typos) we figured we would, I dunno, READ them so it would not be confusing to us when we got in the station. Absolutely agree though, can't wait for these to be gone. It was sad because this was my first visit since 2007 and I only was able to get one ride. So, instead, I had to suffer through many re-rides of Wicked Cyclone.
  3. The problem is hardheaded people. My wife and I rode this. While entering the station, you put your headset on and flip up the phone. Jump on the train, restraints, pull down phone. We are ready and the train doesn't leave for another 3 minutes... People just fiddle faddle in the station then after they get on the train they try to put on their headset.
  4. at "light" Man, those things grab onto that train like a crazy, drunk ex-girlfriend at last years Christmas party.
  5. The transition I find the roughest is in the bottom or "middle" of the weird figure 8. Lean into the restraint and lean your head forward and you'll be fine. I personally love the hang time in the corkscrews. They alone are worth the ride. The rest is merely ok.
  6. ^ uh, yes. What else would you call it? Top tier, again IMO, is a ride that actively brings people in to a park. To me middle tier is a good ride that you make sure you get in while you are at a park, but didn't primarily go there for. Also, lol at saying you "have to ride" Titan when you go. It cracks me up the mentality that we have sometimes. "Well, I don't really like it, but since I'm here I have to ride it." We enthusiasts are a funny people sometimes...
  7. I don't think it's a bad idea "in theory." However, I agree that the execution has been terrible: SFNE putting VR on one of the best steel coasters out there ruining the capacity. SFOG putting VR on what was already a capacity nightmare. SFGA now considering adding VR to one of their "big 3" rides and one of the better B&M hyper coasters. Now SFOT adding to shockwave is more reasonable and, IMO, what VR should be relegated to. A middle tier coaster that has lost its popularity and needs some renewed ridership.
  8. I agree x100. We got our Platinum passes + Platinum Dining. We've been to Carowinds 3x, KD 2x, KI 2x, CP 2x, Dorney. It's almost paid for itself in parking alone! Hard to beat if you plan to visit multiple parks. We haven't bought a meal in a park yet this year.
  9. One thing that makes me sad about DarKastle is the part after you go through the "fireplace" into the dark room. The vehicle used to spin, rather quickly, about 3 times in the pitch black. Now it just meanders though the darkness... Oh well.
  10. Your assumption is correct. What!? I've always though it was legit magic... My life is a lie...
  11. That certainly does not bode well... Parts that have a tendency to overheat really don't have a place near wood (if that is indeed what is happening here).
  12. I just looked on Knoebel's website and it said Phoenix was closed. Is there any truth to that or is that an out of date status?
  13. We're going to be up there the middle of next week. Superman should be up and running regularly (albeit with VR) by then, right?
  14. We tolerate you as you are, but we all secretly want you to get a facelift and a new outfit. Then we'll all love you!
  15. I'll take the vipers as the worst. Viper - Six Flags Magic Mountain but worse than that is Viper - Six Flags Great Adventure One of my friends was literally mad at me for having let her ride it. I had not idea it was going to be that rough.
  16. Afterburn Banshee Alpengeist Montu Raptor Please don't make me put them in order... Oh and honorable mention to Talon.
  17. Ok, so now for the million dollar question. During early entry does it make more sense to do Maverick or MF first? Should I try to hit both during that time or just get re rides on one?
  18. We will be going to Cedar Point this coming Friday. Hopefully crowds will not be too bad, but my question is regarding early entry. We will most likely not be getting Fast Lane. With the addition of Valravn, should we still plan on hitting MF and Maverick during early entry or has that changed?
  19. I will be attending Friday, May 13th. We will be staying onsite. My wife was looking into booking at the sandcastle suites, but everyone here keeps saying Breakers. Is there a reason for the preference?
  20. I was considering trying to hit Hershey tomorrow. We bought our Springtime tickets last weekend but did not get to use them. In looking at the mobile app, it seems that all the rides are currently closed. Anyone have any insight as to why or if going tomorrow would be a bad idea?
  21. True, I mean Kingda Ka runs perfectly compared to Top Thrill Dragster. . . Ohhhh... wait, that's right. Yeah, but that's Intamin, You can't expect them to run consistently.
  22. Is the front row really that good? I know the drop is fantastic towards the back but I hear rumblings that the front row is where it's at. In all my rides I haven't had the opportunity to get up there...
  23. First Ride for Intimidator was about 20 minutes. That was the longest wait of the evening. Fury was about 10 minutes at the longest. However the skies were rather threatening and the forecast wasn't great so I'm sure that scared off a few.
  24. I went in the evening Saturday to get a couple rides. First ride was on Intimidator and I was sadly not impressed. At the end of last year she was really delivering on the airtime but she was running a little more sluggish with the trims really cranked up. Also, I was not impressed by the ride ops. I asked if there was anyway to get the back and the attendant replied with "no" and that was all. Also, after getting buckled in and lowering the clamshell, the ride op came to me and shoved the restraint down twice and it didn't click down any further so he put all his weight into it practically crushing my waist and jabbing the metal buckle into my hip bone. After I winced in pain I asked him to pop it and he replied with "it's better now isn't it?" Fortunately, later that evening we got a little better experience on Intimidator. Fury, on the other hand, was cranking through guests as always. This crew really knows what they're doing and the ride was running great still. I can't find a flaw in this ride and the more I ride it, the more I appreciate it, and I really love the turnaround into the tunnel. That sideways airtime is one of the most beautifully bizarre moments and it really makes me anxious to experience Lightning Rod's wave turn.
