  1. The crowds aren't as dependent on the temp as they are rain or sun from what I've noticed. It's mainly the month, which you're going rather early, so you should be okay. There will be a decent amount of people there but it shouldn't be too overwhelming. That is as long as you go on a weekday, preferably not friday either.
  2. 1- Banshee 2- Montu (VERY close second to Banshee. It took me by surprise big time when I first rode it in the back.) 3- Raptor 4- Great Bear (I was actually pretty surprised by the forces on that helix right after the lift) 5- Batman (I actually don't really like this at all, but I've only ridden 5 in total. It was just too intense and snappy for my preference.)
  3. That wasn't my point. I was trying to say that averages can be different everywhere. Since they're just average for their grade, what really defines average now? Especially if your daughter is 51" and that age. Anyway, back to coaster talk because height studies definitely aren't my thing
  4. I'm not sure I, personally, care much (simply because it doesn't impact me) about the height requirement. But I just thought I'd throw in that my 8 (almost 9) year old sister is just over 54" in shoes. My 9 year old cousin is 55" in shoes. Both of these girls are just average in their grade. Either way, for the people who are impacted by this whole mess, I definitely understand frustration. My sister couldn't ride Rougarou, Raptor, and a few more, I believe, at Cedar Point last year. This was extremely frustrating. I definitely understand your anger with it all.
  5. None other than the second to last rainy Voyage train of the season
  6. All of these are about equal, honestly. Banshee! Extremely happy this gem was added to my home park! I don't get the hate on wings! Thankfully this doesn't get as much. Of course Maverick!
  7. In my English class, we had to write a narrative. The teacher said that you could stretch out/make up a story. Anyway, I did mine based on me "falling out of Maverick" (just to make myself laugh of course ). I got it graded and on the comments section, he wrote, "Wow! Scary! Did this actually happen?" Always knew I hated this guy.
  8. I'm gonna have to hop onto the "please dear God no" train here. As stated, this thing is already a pain machine. They would literally have to retrack 85%+ of the ride in order for it to be even remotely rideable backwards without death. I almost never ride when I go, so hopefully they'll just be retracking (maybe with topper track), as it's a very nice layout, just too rough.
  9. Crazy how we got such different times. I agree that I saw these times at the very beginning of summer. Only until about early-mid June and then the lines got crazy long all the way up until September or so.
  10. Holiday World (There was a giant increase in waits as of this summer because of Thunderbird. Also, I'm gonna go ahead and include mammoth and wildebeest since they get arguably some of the longest lines. Note that I've also gotten really good at timing, since I've had a season pass for 5 years now. So if you go, you may or may not see higher wait times than this. Raven: 25, 5, 5 (Feels extremely slow. Yes, even in the 5 minute waits. They tend to also run one train after the first rush of the day comes through). Legend: 20, 5, 5 (This season was almost always 2 trains. Just an average moving line. Not bad, not great). Voyage: 20, 20, 5 (This line goes surprisingly fast! The longest part of the wait is definitely in the station. Probably because there's no grouper and it's just a giant body pile trying to get into a train. Thunderbird: 40, 40, 5 (Second quickest moving line that I've been in, next to Banshee. Extremely efficient crews as well. They would almost always get the train dispatched before the other would stop behind it on the brakes). Wildebeest: 20, 45, 10 (Another quick moving line, probably because of the constant boarding). Mammoth: 45, 60, 10 (Although it's constant boarding, it's painfully long. Probably because all the line has is very wide switchbacks).
  11. My top 3 have to be Maverick, Gatekeeper, and Banshee in the back row (surprisingly whips you right over without the pre-drop).
  12. 15. I think my first was Big Thunder Mountain at Magic Kingdom. Not sure of the year though, probably about 2005 or so.
  13. 42 on Thunderbird at Holiday World in about 3 hours it was back in May, I think, during the week. That's definitely the best time to go if you're just going for the dry park!
  14. Gotta go with the Immelmann on Thunderbird at HW on the right side. It's even better in the back specifically. The pop of air towering over the plaza is awesome. The weird lateral feeling on the zero-g roll is pretty weird but crazy feeling too. I'm also a huge fan of TTD's top hat. Just slightly insane to look over the entire park. Finally Banshee zero g and inline twist. Probably perfection of those two elements.
  15. Sorry to get off topic from the post above me but I had a bit of a concern. It happened a long time ago, but I didn't have an account at the time. Anyway, one night I stayed until closing and had a huge Thunderbird marathon (like 10 without getting up!), and one time I noticed as my train pulled into the station and the other left, that the launch magnets were sparking, as in shooting out actual static looking sparks behind the train. I'm just curious what this is about? Is this a normal thing? I just hope it doesn't become a source of downtime for my favorite ride in the park.
  16. Well I can dream right? An RMC to the legend would easily be the best thing to ever happen to the park. But I could settle for topper track I like the layout a lot but the jarring is just painful. Any turn makes it feels like it's running square wheels. I guess it's just the laterals grinding down on the ride. Which would make sense why they close early for maintenance.
  17. Very long time lurker, but I finally made my account. Anyway, I think my family and I were going to head up to Kings Island for the second time ever this Labor Day. I was wondering what crowds were like? And also tips on what to do. I know that at my home park (Holiday World), Labor Day is one of the deadest days of the year. I was wondering if it was the same here. Thanks in advance!
