  1. Nope Robb, that's the sane response at this point.
  2. The OTSR's on Tempesto are completely pointless and not load bearing at all... they're just an afterthought attached to the seat which is why they smack people in the face while they're trying to get seated or leave the ride.
  3. After watching the POV's of the shed... wow that's hilariously bad. Could they not afford to make the projection screen the right size or aspect ratio? it's got white space all around the image. Wow. Coaster looks great though!
  4. Yes, at least one of the trains already has them fully installed according to two trip reports I read somewhere either here or elsewhere. The other train(s) were supposed to get them soon. (Check Screamscape)
  5. That would be the exact reason that Intamin just added vests to the previously lapbar-only Flying Aces over in Abu Dhabi. Idiots couldn't stop leaning forward in the wing seats during the first inversion and a few people injured themselves.
  6. I think we had one flip during the whole course as well despite a pretty serious off-balance situation where I was dangling face first Tatsu-style my whole way up the lift, and I only weigh 155 pounds. It didn't make any sense going up the lift, and it didn't make any more sense when our whole car came groaning into the station with sore shoulders. Whyyyyy... how can it be THAT bad?! EDIT: I just remembered something about our trip... I tried to convince my little sister to join me on the ride but she refused w/ the explanation of "that looks uncomfortable" after watching a few cycles from the ground. Despite my assurance that it wouldn't be that bad she stayed on the ground. I'm so glad she didn't end up riding because I would have never heard the end of the "I told you so" chorus otherwise.
  7. Lol, you realize it's raining in all of that footage right?
  8. Coasterbill you are correct obviously, no one's hair should be on fire about this, I'm just noting that it's interesting how there doesn't appear to be any visible water cooling so far. I always like noting the quick tweaks that companies (mostly Intamin) seem to make in the few weeks after opening a new huge ride. We all know how many i305 got, and how several of their hypers got reinforced footers/supports, or how MF has the cutout for the envelope issue on the first turn. These minor details excite some of us.
  9. (accidental duplicate post, where's the delete button?!)
  10. I don't see any of the wire-y looking spray heads that stick up all around the wheels of i305 in the brake run and station... I also don't see a water collection trough below the track (or else water would be leaking on their new white canvas covering thing in that photo. I could be wrong, but these launches are usually soaked in water or hidden in tunnels for a reason.
  11. I don't see any water sprayers in the picture but I'd put money on this thing getting the i305 soakdown treatment really soon. Heat has always been the LIM/LSM issue... they had to know this might happen.
  12. Ah... the spinning less actually makes sense. Unlike the videos I've seen of Insane, GL didn't seem to ever adjust the forces to any direction other than straight into my collar bones. Leave it to Six Flags to modify something incorrectly.
  13. Are all of the Intamin ZacSpins as awful as Green Lantern? After 1 lap on that last year I couldn't believe how god awful it was. Painful, uninteresting, and nothing like what I thought I was going to experience after years of seeing videos of the other models. Why is that specific one so terrible?
  14. This thread makes me really sad that Cyclops had it's "DROP" reprofiled. I rode it last year in the back row and it honestly didn't seem intense at all, so I guess that's no longer a thing that exists :/.
  15. When you say that "[Goliath] sucks w/ the Premier trains" what do you mean? Describe it for someone who hasn't ridden the new trains please, because I can't imagine GIB's being anything other than delightful. Georgia's old version was one of the most exhilarating rides I've ever had in the back row when it was working.... I feel like I'd put up w/ a bad train for that thrill.
  16. You missed my point... the Skyplex coaster is an LSM launch meaning that a rollback would just slowly roll back down the hill... probably under 10mph like the Maverick video linked earlier in the thread. There's no special programming or brakes or anything since the LSM's just act as brakes when they don't have any power.
  17. A lot of people in this thread don't seem to understand the difference between how LIM's and LSM's work when they aren't on.... It's simple: LIM's allow fins to pass through freely while powered off... LSM's don't allow fins to pass through freely while powered off... LSM coasters don't need complicated anti-rollback mechanisms like the pneumatics on TTD/Ka or rows of skid brakes on the spaghetti bowls.
  18. We must have ridden different versions of Hades 360 because our whole group loved it earlier this year. Sure, it's aggressive and the pitch black tunnel make it hard to brace effectively but c'mon... it's a giant wooden coaster. The back row of that ride really knows how to show you who's boss and none of us found it uncomfortable compared to other rides. That tunnel without the lights on straight into the corkscrew is just batshit insane. EDIT: Also, re: their pricing, it varies wildly depending on what time of year you're going to the park. I think we paid $15 or so each back during summer to visit on a weekday and the park was absolutely slam packed. It was clear to us that the park makes a lot of their money on the pricey alcoholic drinks they sell.
  19. You're just making crap up now. There is no such "limit" .... who would be responsible for enforcing your imaginary "limit?"
  20. From a forces perspective that seems like it would just destroy itself vs. Tranan where it's balanced on each side, but who knows. Vekoma does some weird things.
  21. ^ The "mechanical bull" motion you experienced seems to be a feature of some RMC's, I felt the same way on TC at SFMM. Goliath at SFGAM doesn't have that issue but the constant undulation of TC wasn't really a fun or pleasant feeling for me despite how awesome the layout looked in videos and on paper.
  22. ^ and you realize that regardless of whatever happened during the first half of the ride the 2nd half of the ride is still killed by it, so your comment is completely pointless. Whether you flew through the first half or not that thing grabs hard... if it wasn't there the 2nd half would haul ass. That was his point.
  23. Watching the testing videos and seeing the mockup animations didn't prepare me for just how damn intense that ride looks! It never lets up! Holy crap I need to ride that beast.
  24. Mt. Olympus (mostly for Hades and Cyclop's backrow), Timber Falls for Hellcat, log flume, and minigolf, and Noah's Ark are all on our "must do list." Anything else that we'd really regret missing there?
