  1. How have wait times been on Yukon Striker? I assumed I would grab some ERT but didn't realize that CW doesn't do that during the weekdays. I'll be up there next week.
  2. It was okay... nothing to write home about... Darien Lake's is far better. '
  3. Cedar Point does allow you to save money being a SPH. I just booked Hotel Breakers for August and saved money.
  4. Looks like Winterfest will be a go according to that article.
  5. What seats do you recommend? I have only done the front so far. (Road it twice)
  6. I rode this 5 times today... don't worry about the restraints, you will be happy. the ride ops didn't pin me down at all... they typically do not at Kennywood.
  7. @Hayzle - I rode it closer to 1230. By that time, Renegade was audible, they were turning it up slowly as the day went on.
  8. I'm certainly not happy with this change, as I booked the hotel on the property in August due to extended hours vs. June. With this change, there's little incentive to stay on property, besides hotels not being close. I understand it may be a staffing issue, but changing mid-year leaves a bad taste in my mouth and considerably drops my plans to revisit next year as I have the past 2. Perhaps limited rides are open from 930 - 1000/1030/11?
  9. That's a good idea. As for the KC waterpark, I wouldn't be so sure about that. They made it clear to the local newspapers that they feel it could create synergy with Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun. Of course, they're looking into it still, but did state if they bought it, they would open it under a different name that is not Schlitterbahn. Either way, even if it was just a flip, $6 million doesn't seem too bad as an option. But with them wanting to close before the end of the month, I'm not sure if they'll finish the "fact finding stage" in enough time. They'll retain the brand for the Texas parks (that could still change though), but they said KC would be rebranded if they bought it. EPR Properties, who owns the mortgage, expects it to be paid in full, no matter what! Possible, not not super likely! They could disperse the assets to many of the parks. However, when Geauga Lake's WildWater Kingdom closed, they scrapped everything. Some of the slides weren't even 10 years old. Slide relocation or not, the land the park sits on could be worth a pretty penny due to its location. It'll be interesting to see what options they pursue with it! They kept the option in for a reason. The Henry Family still plans to own the South Padre Island Schiltterbahn (but will have to rebrand due to Cedar Fair taking over the brand), so there is interest in the KC property for one reason or another. They only scrapped the 7 Slide Complex that was from 2003. Is was for sale, but noone bought it. The funnel slide and kids slides were relocated to different non-CF parks. Usable parts from the lazy river and wave pool went to Waldameer.
  10. Is that during a 3 train op or 2? I was at DP 2 weeks ago during a 2 train op and it seemed fine going up the hill.
  11. Perfect, appreciate that. I was there for my first time this past week and I was interested in knowing what the rumored water park expansion size might be. I was surprised at how small the waterpark is. Very underwhelming. Looks like at one point Cedar Fair was dropping coasters here every 6 years. Wonder if they will refocus on it in the 2020s.
  12. Great to hear, didn't ride it during my visit in 2018, but excited to see what they fixed later this summer.
  13. Does anyone know exactly how much land Valleyfair owns? Do they own much behind Excalibur and Renegade?
  14. Back in the 90s you saw this stuff all over the place, where restaurants/theme parks/bars would try to capitalize off of the style of a current movie or hit music. You don't see too much of it nowadays, but yes, Six Flags was obviously trying to piggyback off of The Mask's font.
  15. I'll be a Noel Gallagher. Booked the room, excited to see the park this year under Six Flags.
  16. Has it been confirmed the go karts are getting the ax?
  17. Probably with revenue generated by the people who pay to go to the park and use its services. It's not that complicated... If Kings Island's biggest issue is putting on Winterfest, we aren't getting 300 ft. B&M chief. Might as well go tell that discussion group they should settle for Flight Commander 2.
  18. Real or Fake? http://www.wildgravitytravels.com/firehawk-not-completely-dead-moving-to-dorney-park/
  19. I was at the park Sunday - Thursday staying at the hotel on property. There's a ton of Six Flags signage, which I'm assuming is new. Wanted to get a picture but never got around to it. The signs are located next to the Admin Buildings when you are leaving the hotel. One of them says WELCOME SIX FLAGS PARK PRESIDENT and there are a handful more that you can't quite read from the stop sign at the exit. Also - during the show with the magician, they are referring to it as Six Flags Darien Lake already. Could be slip up since he isn't a park employee, but also could be careless.
  20. Man, I needed a good laugh. Thanks for that. Seriously though, absolutely not. The dry side of the park will be a ghost town, like it is every day. Disagree - was there in mid-May. Day after Liam Gallagher concert in Philly if you need exacts. 45 minute wait for Steel Force (did it) & Hydra (skipped it, left park and came back next day at entry on Plat Pass). Would I ever get Fast Lane there? No - but is the dry side always dead. No it isn't.
  21. Yes it is. The waterpark is a highlight. Especially the new bowl slide.
