  1. Ha, really? Did they use the 2nd station when they run 2 trains?
  2. Ran 2 in my visits last year. Ran 2 on Roar, FireBird, Jokers Jinx and Wild One as well during haunt. Anyone know the last time they attempted 2 trains on Batwing? Seems that other station may have been dormant since shortly after opening based upon the track wear and tear. Interested to know how quickly they abandoned it. And I really don't see them ditching Batwing anytime soon like the rumors suggest, that ride constantly has a wait... Yes, it runs one train and dispatch is slow, but it's also in nowhere land as it relates to the park's layout. You have to want to go there...
  3. I read Moon Patrol / Antique Cars are getting the ax at St. Louis as well. Is that true?
  4. I know - there is about 6 or so abandoned buildings buildings between MInd Eraser and the Swings. It's a bit embarrasing for the chain IMO. Why would you have that in one of the parks in your one of your biggest metro areas. Here's footage from last week -
  5. SFA is removing Zoomazon Falls as part of the 15 ride removal. It's not on their map this year. Too bad, I enjoyed it last year.

  7. Really hope they open this year... I like to do a yearly trip up 79 north to ride Blue Streak once a year. Not sure why the state would hold them back. Lakemont opened last year with no issue - video from last year below... they didn't have to do anything special to open...
  8. Easy ... great water park much better than SFA or SFGADV IMO, Superman ROS, the Buffalo Wing Place next to the ferris wheel, onsite concerts with onsite hotel (no other park has this to my knwoledge), 24 oz refillable beer glasses for under $10, Italian restaurant outside of the water parl, generally short waits for every attraction, park looks great at night, light show to name a few... I think this park has the best potential in the chain of the lesser tier parks. It easily beats the pants off of SFA IMO. SFA is a mess and doesn't appear to be turning around after opening day last weekend. I would also take SFDL over SFOT any day of the week just based off of operations... sure I'd ride Titan / New Texas Giant / Mr. Freeze over the coasters at SFDL minus SROS, but one train ops on Mr. Freeze at a park that size vs. one train ops on Motocoaster? Sure not the same ride, but also 1/4 the wait...
  9. No - everything was open except the water rides, which Penguins / Shipwreck Falls will open March 31. Rapids ride April 24th Unfortunately, the park looks about the same as it did last summer, no TLC at all. Really was hoping for some as parts of this park are slowly looking like Geauga Lake circa 2008 (area around Mind Eraser) lol.
  10. Park was buzzing today. Lines on everything, however one train ops. Great opening day. As promised a few months back here is some more shots of Spinsanity
  11. Let me know if they still check reservations too next time your there... haven't for me since maybe August at a variety of their parks (St. Louis, SFHH, SFGadv, SFA) These protocols will be posted long after their enforcement periods... As a matter of fact, you could walk up and buy day tickets at SFGADV for hallowfest... quite a line too.
  12. If i had to guess, it will be lip service. Put a sign up and let the patrons decide what they want to do. Already some parks have gone that route (kentucky kingdom, waldameer) And by the end of last season, Six Flags was packing the coasters full at the two parks I was at in Oct (America, Great Adventures) whereas the previous visits last year to the same parks, they were every other row. There was clearly a shift from management, that didn't make it out publicly for fear of backlash online I'm sure, why else the sudden change in operating procedures? The visits in Oct. had staff refilling souvenir bottles as well, whereas all summer, the staff wouldn't go near them. Six Flags will feed the online population with their stance that masks are required, which is loud, but aren't moving the needle revenue wise. The GM of Fiesta Texas on his opening webcast said that masks would only be required when you couldn't be 6 feet apart, but then had to retract it (likely viewable on Facebook still). He held up a sign all opening weekend thanking people for wearing their masks, likely signaling an apology for his original stance as he was the only one who had it between all 3 parks I went to that week (SFFT, SFOT, Frontier City) If Six Flags changes their policy and publicly announces it, then bad PR and attacks come but if they do it silently, as they appeared to be doing late last season... there won't be the backlash and everyone is happy.
  13. Single queue was not in place when I was there in Oct. for Fright Fest
  14. Yes and go to Superman and Blue Hawk first, both those lines can get long.
  15. Glad I got to visit and document it in one of the last weekends under Ed Hart. Park was empty... so this makes sense now..
  16. Correct - i Think that's in the Coaster Studios documentary.
  17. Going to do my first trip out there this summer. Should be fun.
  18. I visited every SF park that was open last year, sometimes 2-3x. (Frontier City, OT, Fiesta Texas, Over Georgia, America, Great Adventure, etc.) I really like Darien Lake though, the hotel on-site is a big plus. It reminds me of Geauga Lake. Personally, my least favorite park in the chain is Over Texas, I felt that place was an absolute dump in my 2 days there last year. That place needs a huge makeover, that it won't be getting for a while, obviously Fiesta Texas is their jewel in Texas.
  19. Pretty excited about this. Darien Lake is one of my favorite parks in the chain.
  20. Comes off as bit of cheap hire to fill a role. I feel they would bring in a seasoned vet if they were prepared to invest in this park, seems like a tread water type of move. Promoting someone from Great Escape that background is mostly in food, doesn't exactly scream park expansion coming soon to me... Great Escape is one of the smallest operations in the chain... Most of these Six Flags park have the same food anyways, Primo's Pizza, Johnny Rockets, Totally Kickin' Chicken, etc. Hope I'm wrong though...
  21. Have they opened up the Pirates dark ride yet this year? When I was there in June, it was closed due to social distancing.
  22. Right - it was screamscape. But considering no closures at SFOT & SFFT and nothing out for SFA yet... perhaps it won't be one at each one.
  23. I would've thought the same thing... but I remember reading 3-4 months ago that they were going to close a ride at each park. I was figuring Penguin's Blizzard River was getting the ax and went to check.
  24. Interesting, they don't have rides posted on their website. So maybe they will slowly open the rides as has been suggested...
  25. Uploaded some footage of Morey's Piers in 1989 if anyone is interested. or not. i don't care.
