Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

I had noticed the first week or two the restraints were up and then got pulled down as if they were trying something. It's been down around six weeks at this point. If I had to guess it will probably be another week or two. If its the part that I think it is they are probably still waiting for it. The part in question is unique to the SFSTL Boomerang and isn't made by Vekoma or S&S Arrow. I wasn't aware there were differences in Boomerang models at all. Or is this a change added in the repair? -

Yes, although the rain hit everything hard Saturday. Sorry about Freeze, I didn't see a train on the course either day but I was there 2 hours Friday and the water park until the second closure Saturday. -

Mr Freeze has been down all day today. Is it out of commission for the weekend? Edit: And the answer to that question is no. It was down Saturday but up and running full capacity Sunday. -

I also adore KI. It always feels to me like what would happen if the owner of SFSL was able to just keep spending money. Very similar scenic and natural feel like SL, but with the rides too. -

This app this year seems better than last year. But it has drawn no crowd from what I can tell. -

Where would we move the carousel to highlight it? Has there been talk about remodeling the entrance plaza? Yeah the fingerprint pavilion is newish but that's it. I could see pushing items further out towards the fountain and the carousel could literally be there first thing you walk by Great America-style. But man would that be a lot of work. There's room across from the palace and that area is dead most of the year, but Fright Fest and holiday in the park use it. Edit: Also. Not an idea for a location here, just another thought I've had. What does Old Glory do for the park these days besides besides eat a plot of land that'd easily fit a coaster? Am I counting correctly that there are only 3 shows scheduled this year? -

Maybe. But Ninja still chews up crowds and Joker isn't terribly unpopular. The carousel needed rehab 15 years ago I know, talking about beating a dead (wooden) horse. That Ninja/Buccaneer dead end always felt intentional. Like they originally were going to expand out a new midway there. -

Yeah at this point I'd say the only area in real need of TLC is Britannia maybe. And Highland Fling got new cars. -

Sitting in line to park. No movement. Really seems like the network is down. -

Generally no, Boomerang isn't particularly problematic. I'm in the park today. Spinsanity is being tested. [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] -

That's why I asked if the park was waiting on a replacement part to come in a few days ago. There are certain things you don't keep spares on hand for, but it can take a few weeks for some things to be manufactured and shipped. -

The cycle time for this closing crew on Freeze is unacceptable. Over 3 minutes - horrible capacity at that speed with one side open. Literally no more than 5 launches in the final 20 minutes, and I only counted 4. No technical issues, only one oversized guest. -

It really depends on whether or not the current hardware isn't powerful enough. I have my doubts they'd upgrade the computing power. -

It actually is closed though. It is also posted at the front gate. Waiting on a part from S&S? -

The app says Boomerang is closed. And it was two weeks ago. It's it really still closed? -

Mr Freeze was being a bit temperamental today. I was on a train that stopped short of the end of the track in the station and sat about 8 minutes waiting for maintenance to give us a push. This about 15 minutes after they shut the line because of another stoppage. -

Ninja's layout was designed for flat land though. -

For those old Arrow trains does ride quality just come down to new wheels making the guide and upstops ride closer to the track so there's less room for the train to rattle around? Or does the structure literally break in? -

Yes for a few rides. Fireball and Justice League have one. I want to say Skyscreamer's fast pass line is also a single rider line but i can't fully remember. -

Batman's station is still getting some work done isn't it? New yellow paint on the stairs and loading platform? Don't remember it looking like this a couple weeks ago. -

Plenty of Disney and Universal rides go for the ancient aesthetic Maybe Batman: The Ride with the whole run down area behind the fence?
