  1. The only thing that could change the park's ride roadmap at this point is a change in the ownership structure to be more like over Texas or Over Georgia. And I don't see that happening.
  2. Honestly that's an upgrade. Slight one On the bright side at least the new park president knows how to run a park forgotten by corporate already
  3. I wouldn't say it isn't robbing the park of space. That's definitely a nice piece of land that you could do something with. Not far off the size of the entire Britannia section. Not that the park would get that kind of budget anymore.
  4. A lot of nice things don't seem to fit their business model. Then again their season passes are easily half the price of competitors.
  5. Have they added the color overlays to Wing's lighting in the past couple of weeks? Don't remember this.
  6. Simple, well okay maybe not 'simple', the solution is don't attach the canopy/tunnel to Eagle's structure - make it freestanding. Either build a custom structure or buy another one of those temporary shelters behind Tidal Wave. The shelter could have the benefit that you could use the new shelter for holiday event storage, then when you unpack for the events you can take the cover off and move to set the frame up over Eagle. Alternatively if a freestanding structure isn’t something the park is comfortable building or buying you could hang lights from wires strung between trees on either side of Eagle's layout. Though this is all a bit elaborate for a ride they aren't even operating yet for the event - I'm still fine with the idea of swapping out the Fright Fest tombstones and spotlights for Christmas trees. I'd really prefer decorations on Mine Train before I'd build a light tunnel for Eagle. Given the type of coaster it is and its audience it really feels like the ride should have something there and it just doesn't. It'd be easier to install as well I'd imagine. PS: If you do go the Eagle freestanding 'tunnel' structure route there's always the possibility that instead of building a temporary structure you could make it permanent. You'd gain a head chopper element most of the year, a mounting surface for FF decorations AND a place to hang lights for HITP.
  7. They didn't screw up Eagle's entrance just to run it without games open
  8. Wow, sounds like New England is going all out on a night not even that cold. Are they piloting some ideas there for consideration in the rest of the chain? If it isn't a corporate pilot the other parks should probably take notes (with an effort like that Great America might even be able to open).
  9. Couple of interesting things in today's announcements IMO. I hope they consider more deals on alcohol next year. I might pick up two of those packages this weekend.
  10. I would have recommended one of the Motorola G5 models for a low cost upgrade. But a Cyber Monday iPhone deal ain't bad either. Welcome to one of the two real app stores
  11. You can do the entrance plaza fingerprint processing for the full blown gold with parking passes too. If the Six Flags app isn't on the Amazon App Store you can probably sideload it from APK Mirror.
  12. The park really is absolutely gorgeous for the event. I know I said this last year, but one thing the holiday events do is make you wish the park would step up their lighting game for the regular season. Some other parks do midnight closes some summer weekends - better lighting would make that enjoyable for us.
  13. It is. Great way to welcome people in to the event. More playing with my phone camera: I like the new lighting on American Thunder.
  14. Tonight is a two-color night for Colossus, so that's good news for the park on the crowd size front.
  15. I've noticed there are also blue hot chocolate mugs. So I assume that is the actual 2017 mug, but they're still trying to sell the remaining red stock.
  16. Looks good enough to put on display in the park. I do like the Friday hours. 10pm is nice.
  17. *Next year. I'd ask how feasible a set of drive wheels is for Thunder but has the issue that prevents faster dispatches been fixed? Okay maybe I shouldn't post EVERY idea that pops in to my head.
  18. They do literally have walls up at the two railroad crossings at either end of the Illinois train station. Different than last years barriers I believe. I wish I'd taken a look at the back of them. If they're simply sandbagged down then they could always do what they did last year and open extra rides on an as needed basis. I'm with ya man. I really wanted Eagle rides, and it never really seemed to ever go down on cold Fright Fest nights so I'm really just wondering why. They've taken three kiddie rides off the table with the current barriers too.
  19. Eagle isn't showing closed for the season now, for what that's worth. I'll be applying tonight.
  20. ??? Am I gonna have to Griswold an Eagle ride? When is the last time it valleyed? Let's also keep in mind they actually ended up having four rides north of the tracks open last year.
  21. I don't remember hearing anything was problematic so I don't think we'll be seeing something close in its place. I'd imagine staffing will be better in year two (I'm even considering applying as a second job - but a 33 year old?)
  22. The HITP site appears to be back up today. Seems to be the same content as last year - Boomerang and Skyscreamer not on it even though we know they had those open some. https://holiday.sixflags.com/stlouis/things-to-do/#holiday-thrills
