  1. I passed by the Flash Pass center on my way to the Joker, and there was a sign out front that said (paraphrasing) "Ride the Joker with your Platinum Flash Pass!". Don't have a photo of it, unfortunately, but it does line up with how the chain treats their new marquee attractions. I got two rides in today, once on each side. It is fun, definitely nowhere near as painful as GM:FF. That being said, the ride experience is really short (about 26 seconds from top of lift hill to return to station), and it's a total crapshoot whether or not you spin a little or a lot. On the green side, I got two full revolutions and some really heavy partial spins, but the purple side I only experienced a single 180 and just gentle rocking for the remainder of the ride. I won't be rushing back to get more rerides in, but it's still a good addition and the view from up top is great. And I'm sure once my kid manages to get up to 48", he's going to love it!
  2. It's fun enough, but definitely not as enjoyable as Skyrush or Storm Runner. I'll absolutely second you on that. Hoping to head back over in a few weeks and check out the new restraints, and see if that affects the enjoyability any.
  3. fixed How the hell do I still keep mixing those up.
  4. This hunka-spinnin'-junk at Luna Park on Sunday, as part of a family outing with the kiddo. A great coaster it is not, but it's fun enough to make the kid smile!
  5. An actual conversation at my house yesterday: Me: "Hey hon, looks like I'm going to Tennessee this week." Wife: "What? Tennessee? Why?" Me: "Lightning Rod at Dollywood #finallyopened." Wife: "OH NO YOU'RE NOT."
  6. I believe we had fire a few weeks ago in April. I remember because my friend liked the ride 10x more for that reason. When I went a few weeks back, they had fire but no mist. But that was par for the course for all of last season, too. You rolls the dices and takes your chances. Really sorry to hear about your friend's sudden onset sickness and subsequent accident; here's hoping he recovers quickly.
  7. At the park today with my kiddo for the final day of the Groupon redemption, and neither WindstarZ nor Endeavor are open. WindstarZ is actually still in the process of being reassembled, while Endeavor appears to be complete but access is blocked off. I wonder what the deal is.
  8. As above -- I rode Black Widow on Saturday and MaxAir on Sunday, and I feel very strongly that Black Widow is the better of the two. Might be the longer ride cycle, might be the revolutions, but Black Widow feels legitimately disorienting and awesome. It's a can't-miss when you're there.
  9. awwww maaaaaaan. Only hating because I missed it by three days.
  10. Visited the park for the first time on Sunday. I'll be writing up a whole trip report later, but I just wanted to say, I had an absolutely fantastic time at this park. Great collection of rides and it was a total pleasure to walk around. Definitely looking forward to visiting again in the future!
  11. This was open as of this past Saturday.
  12. This is the best I've got on my phone... And somehow we snaked all the way around the outside of the tarps. And that was exactly the case that day. Busload after busload after busload of teenagers piling out into the park. I mean, even with that, it was still a relative ghost town. I'll be looking forward to coming back later in the season to bring the kiddo, hopefully once he crosses that 48" mark.
  13. If you have early entry access, are near the front of the line at the Marina entry, and you see trains testing before you get in the park, then by all means, yes. Otherwise, that line will fill up super quick and average between 90-120 for most of the day. Waiting towards the end of the evening will probably help a lot. For reference, this is what the line looked like on Monday at 9:10, 50 minutes before the park "officially" opened; They opened the station around 9:35, and we were on the third train out. By the time we got to the steps, the queue had completely filled up, and when we left the gift shop, there were still people standing out on the midway.
  14. You keep saying that, but when I visited on Friday -- on a day when the weather wasn't even great and it was perpetually raining off and on -- there were significant lines on several of the coasters. Steel Force had about a 15 minute wait, Hydra ended up being 30-40 minutes, and Thunderhawk was the worst because they were only running one train and the dispatch times were absolutely awful, even with five ops in the station. That being said, ILTP, your plan is probably as good as it can get. Work from the farthest point back and head towards the entrance, though with these ops, I wouldn't blame you if you did Thunderhawk first to minimize the wait times if they don't have the second train on that day.
  15. Gatekeeper, twice in a row, once on each side last night.
  16. It is in fact open and running. Visited on Friday while the rain was coming down pretty heavy. My buddy and I decided to do TCM because, hey, it's raining, how much wetter can we possibly get? The answer is ALL of the wet, btw. Both Whitewater Landing and Thunder Canyon are open and running, as well.
  17. This was the situation yesterday, and it kept TTD from opening the entire day. Same with Windseeker and the Sky Ride. Other than that, all other coasters were up and running for the majority of the day excluding Mean Streak and the blue side of Gemini. There was also some unexplained downtime on Maverick, but they did their best to get it up and running ASAP every time, as opposed to TTD where we just didn't even see any test cars go in the afternoon at all.
  18. Awesome trip report! Making me even more eager and anxious to make my first-ever Cedar Point visit next Monday!
  19. Well said Bill. I always feel like Phoenix and Twister are the perfect complements to each other, and it's amazing to have a park that routinely keeps them both in top shape.
  20. I can't pick just one, I have to bust it out into separate categories for the ones I've been on; Single most fun moment of airtime: El Toro's RT crossover hill Single most "HOLY SH*T I'M GONNA DIE" moment of airtime: Skyrush first drop Best overall airtime throughout: Wicked Cyclone
