  1. My first coaster with inversions was Maverick at Cedar Point
  2. ^ They still have one as a backup, but the flywheels usually work fine.
  3. Fury 325 will win the GTAs before 2020. Placing in the top 5 in its first year is very promising.
  4. This is my list for US coasters only. Until I grow up and get a job and pay my own way, I don't see my family taking me out of the US. 1. Fury 325 2. Lightning Rod 3. Sky Rush 4. Outlaw Run 5. Boulder Dash 6. X2 7. Valravn 8. Twisted Colossus 9. Joker SFDK 10. Mako/Manta/Kraken
  5. ^They got the 4 person rafts this year. The ride broke down when my family was at the park on July 17th. When I asked what was wrong an employee told me that the conveyor belt was broken. The ride was running on May 31st when I went.
  6. I rode Voyage on Thursday and I thought it was running good. We I rode in the very back it was rough, but I rode 2nd to last row 5 times and it was so good that I bumped it up ahead of Superman the Ride. My advice would be to ride in the front of each cart.
  7. I went yesterday, which was a Sunday, and I rode Thunder Run twice, Storm Chaser 4 times and Lightning Run 7 times. The water park was packed with hour long waits for the slides. We even had to wait for the lazy river. The dry park didn't have long lines though. I rode Thunder Run first thing on my way to SC. Then after I rode those rides enough I came to the front and did LR. No wait in the dry park was more than 20 minutes. If you aren't doing the water park than you will have no problem. If you want to do the water park than I suggest doing that first.
  8. I don't think the coaster will come until 2018
  9. My favorite 1-2 punches are as follows. I based it on the coasters best combined ranking. For example, Diamondback is my 13 and Banshee is 22 so KI's number would be 35. Six Flags New England Wicked Cyclone + Superman =10 Six Flags Great Adventure El Toro + Nitro =13 Cedar Point MF + Dragster =19 Kings Dominion I305 + Volcano =22 Six Flags Over Texas Shockwave + NTaG =27 Kentucky Kingdom Lightning Run + Storm Chaser =27
  10. For me, Lightning Run + Storm Chaser have a combined ranking of 27 with LR at 12 and SC at 15 These are the parks that have a better 1 2 Combined Ranking Wicked Cyclone + Superman =10 El Toro + Nitro =13 MF + Dragster =19 I305 + Volcano =22 Shockwave + NTaG =27
  11. I rode the Bonsai Pipeline at Six Flags America this week and that ride was way more painful than I thought. Everyone in my group that rode it came of the slide with red marks down our backs and near concussions from slamming our heads on the slide. So I would be very disappointed if they got capsule slides next year or any year UNLESS they get some without any turns like Deep Water Dive at KK because that ride rocks. Anyway, in an interview Matt Eckert said that HW likes water slides because you can ride them with your family and body slides don't have that family appeal which is why they don't have any at SS.
  12. Going into this year I had never ridden a RMC. This year I rode 4 of them. 1. Iron Rattler-Fantastic first drop, awesome , great inversion, stunning drop off the quarry and great speed throughout. #1 overall coaster. 2. Wicked Cyclone-Good first drop, crazy directional change+ very good with some fun inversions and a sence of speed. #4 steel coaster. 3. Storm Chaser-Cool first drop with insane first ejector hill, cool moments, fun inversion, but a little slow at the end. It is on par with the next coaster on the list. #12 steel coaster. 4. New Texas Giant- Great first drop, cool banked turns, solid , just pure fun. I couldn't decide if I liked it better than Storm Chaser. #14 steel coaster.
  13. I'll be at the park tomorrow but my plan is to hit up either Ka or Toro and then do the Safari. I think I'll pass on Joker cause I rode Batman at Fiesta this April.
  14. Do you all think it will be packed on Sunday due to the free admission for Fathers? I have a pass and would like to take my dad but if we will have to wait in insanely long lines than I'll pass on the opportunity.
  15. My next park I'll be at will probably be Kentucky Kingdom or Holiday World. My next new park will be Knoebels on July 2nd with Great Adventure on the 4th and 5th.
  16. Lightning Run or Storm Chaser. It would be Voyage but I haven't been to HW since May 31.
  17. I've been to the park over 10 times since Thunderbird has opened. The most it has been down on a day that I went was 15 minutes. There is only 2 times that I can recall it being down while I was there. So to answer your question it is way more reliable than any Intamin. It is on par with other B&Ms.
  18. I've ridden SC, NTaG, and IRat Iron Rattler(1) is the best in my opinion with Storm Chaser(11) edging out New Texas Giant(13).
  19. Was at the park today My list goes: 5. Terrible to the third power. (The name explains it all, won't ride it again, worse than other SLCs) 4. Roller Skater. (The best kids coaster I've been on, better than Mean Streak) 3. Thunder Run. (A fun woodie, but not very re-ridable) 2. Storm Chaser. (A great coaster, through the corked roll is phenomenal, the rest just fun) 1. Lightning Run. (Airtime+laterals) SC and LR are both great. SC has a big elements that are a ton of fun. Lightning Run comes at you with everything, and is very quick with a bunch of small hills that send you flying.
  20. California: Xcelerator Florida: Montu Georgia: Goliath Indiana: Voyage Kentucky: Lightning Run Massachusetts: Superman Missouri: Mr. Freeze Ohio: Millennium Force Pennsylvania: Phantoms Revenge Tennessee: Daytona Draft Texas: Iron Rattler Virginia: I305
  21. Nearly every coaster at SFOT. Went April 2 and it was a bring a friend free day. The place was packed and the only coasters we got on were NTaG, Titan, Shockwave with VR, and Judge Roy. I wasn't too disappointed that we didn't ride some of the other rides because we did Mr Freeze and Batman in St. Louis, 400 ft Sky screamer in New England, and coasters similar to there other ones somewhere else.
  22. Car Salesman Vekoma or Togo?
  23. ^ I don't know. Opening weekend they closed the park 2 hours early due to a light rain. On another note, does anyone know if someone 6'6 and thin could fit into Storm Chaser and Lightning Run? My brother is interested in getting a season pass but doesn't want to waste his money if he can't ride those coasters.
  24. ^I haven't been yet this year, but last year people rushed to thunderbird in the mornings so well as Raven and Legend. Voyage is the only coaster that is a walk on in the morning. Surprisingly thunderbird is a station wait in the afternoon. Unless you're dying to ride Thunderbird then I would wait until the afternoon.
