  1. Behold, the 4th inversion! And alas, it is beautiful!
  2. I haven't read Screamscape, but a Larson Super Loop was my first thought as well when I saw that teaser...
  3. To me, the worst part of SoB, was after the loop! I don't know why exactly, but that last portion of the ride just KILLED my back! I literally had back pain for days after riding it... Only time that's ever happened in my many years of coaster riding...
  4. I don't actually "dislike" the name "Steel Vengeance", though it wouldn't be my first choice either. It's ok though, and fits the whole recurrent naming of RMC rides to some sort of "Steel" or "Iron" name. Personally, if they were going to go with "Vengeance", I would have preferred "Frontier Vengeance" to "Steel Vengeance" (Or how about "Cedar Creek Vengeance"? )! At the end of the day though, a name is a name, and this coaster is going to kick absolute butt, and I can't wait to ride it Opening Day, and all through the year next year!!!
  5. When in reality it's not worth a 15 minute wait. Awww... I like Mamba! It was the best coaster there when I was there last! (Granted, that was before Prowler or Patriot! ) Also, I didn't wait more than 15 minutes I don't think!
  6. Knott's is definitely a better park from an aesthetics and operations standpoint, but Magic Mountain's roller coaster lineup completely blows it out of the water, in my opinion. It's the main reason I haven't even returned to Knott's for the past five years. I don't go visit my brother super often, and MM keeps adding coasters, while Knott's doesn't, or at least doesn't add major ones, so it's a pretty easy decision for me (I haven't even been on FT or TC yet!) Now, if Knott's is indeed adding a major coaster next year, that'll change next time I go! But you've got to do better than a family spinner, mad mouse, or a horsie ride to get me interested!
  7. ^In spite of how much everybody complains about SFMM, it's still a great place for people who love to ride roller coasters! My brother lives in LA, and when I go to visit him, he wants to take me to Disneyland where they have passes, and I know Knotts is a "better park", but I'm always like "I want to go to Magic Mountain!" You'll have a great time, in spite of all the park's many deficiencies!
  8. Well, The Voyage is a MUCH better coaster than The Beast when you remove the factor of when it's ridden, so I'll definitely cast a vote for it being a better night ride than The Beast! I've also ridden it many more times than The Beast at night, including with no trims. For context, I have back to back (without getting off) rides on The Beast at night in the front seat after park closing at an enthusiast event, with the fog rising all around the coaster while we were riding it under my belt... And I still vote for The Voyage! So there's that... BTW bluestreak, welcome to the club! The Voyage front seat at night rebirth is complete!
  9. Not as much as if you said Millenium Force was only okay in the Cedar Point thread. Forget the Cedar Point thread, that's stupid, spoiled, enthusiast talk in ANY thread!!!
  10. That's a pretty nice looking park bench, honestly...
  11. ^My thoughts exactly, upon reading the last handful of comments! I do not share those feelings, however... I say "good riddance" to the Boomerang, and I'd rather MiA not get anything next year, than get insulted again with another crap addition for our "token" coaster handout...
  12. No, but enthusiasts who go to amusement parks and get annoyed by people screaming and having fun on rides are the definition of annoying. This is pretty much the answer to the POLL I was looking for!
  13. This entire page so far is pure MiA speculation GOLD!!!
  14. I know Snake River Falls was sponsored by Pepsi from the time it opened until they switched to Coke products. Nothing else at CP immediately comes to mind though...
  15. Heading to the park later today with my sister! Her first time there! Is there any early entry time for Six Flags pass holders? Thanks in advance! Looking forward to riding the bull like it's my job today!
  16. I really think this is 100% true! I consider Intimidator to be my least favorite B&M Hyper, and I can't help but wonder if I hadn't ridden it after Fury, if my opinion of it wouldn't be different... I know a lot of people use Carowinds and CW as examples of Gigas and Hypers being able to co-exist in the same park just fine, but I actually think it's a negative, based on my experience at Carowinds (haven't been to CW since Leviathan was there, so can't comment.) Fury totally makes Intimidator seem underwhelming, and less-than... Still my second or third favorite coaster in the park though. When I go to Carowinds again, having already gotten the "credits" the first time, all I'm going to do the entire day is ride Fury over and over, and over again, with a brief jaunt over to Afterburn to ride it a few times, then hitting Intimidator for a token ride, before going back to Fury the rest of the day!
  17. Perhaps. But to be fair, within those parameters Six Flags has still managed to be the ones to grab RMC early to create some of the best rides on the planet starting with New Texas Giant. They've also manged to created a pretty slick dark ride (something nobody could have seen coming), AND bring back the "flat ride package" to their parks (something else no one saw coming). If they can do that again in 2018, I'm all in. Yes, this is very true. I haven't ridden any of the S&S Free Fly coasters yet, and only one Six Flags RMC conversion, but I respect the heck out of their foresight in working with that company in the first place, and I love the Justice League dark ride! I just can't help but chuckle at the marketing hyperbole they're likely using here, when we know we're not looking at a bunch of large, record breaking B&M or Intamin coasters here.
  18. ^Thanks! That is a great ornament! Definitely need it for my tree!
  19. Strategically you should ride Nighthawk first followed by Ricochet but if you walk through the front gate and realize there's no way in hell you're doing anything other than going straight to Fury nobody would blame you. Seriously, getting Nighthawk out of the way before its inevitable ridiculous line IS the "smart" move, but after walking into the park under the awesomeness that is Fury, doing its thang all around you, it's going to be nearly impossible to not go straight there and get on that amazing coaster of bliss!!!
  20. ^That IS an awesome ornament! I'd totally get that! Which store did you find it in, if I may ask?
  21. I'm still HIGHLY skeptical that this will be anything remotely resembling "extreme", or actually even very sizable investments... Six Flags is still in "conservative spending mode" until they prove otherwise to me.
  22. Last time I went, TC and YOLO weren't there yet... 1. Tatsu 2. Apocalypse 3. X2 4. Batman 5. Riddler's Revenge Yeah... I like the Stand-Up better than Goliath! (Ninja, too!)
  23. I actually kind of laughed at all the excited enthusiasts clamoring to ride it! I rode it as a kid, and currently have it ranked as 233 out of 233 coasters! (Though really, it's probably better than Son of Beast and SFGAdv's GASM because at least it didn't try to kill me!) Probably the lamest kiddie credit I've ever ridden though...
  24. ^Right across from Mystic Timbers, now!
