Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I'm a Christian and had the same response!!! I actually LOVE snakes! -
The statement says it's a franchise Universal owns themselves. I'm betting on Secret Life of Pets. Secret Life Of Pets would be a decent addition but I don't think it will happen, but I am personally betting more money on that it will somehow be Fast and the Furious franchise! It's their most bankable franchise in history! I've been hearing based around the Bourne franchise That would be extremely dumb in my opinion. The target audience of Universal doesn't really connect with that franchise. Universal is about putting in relatable content. Thank goodness your opinion is just that! The Bourne franchise is one of the best movie franchises in existence, and a ride based on it could potentially be awesome! I'm not sure why you're saying the target audience doesn't really connect with it, or what you're assuming the target audience is. But again, thankfully, I don't think your opinion is shared by the masses. That franchise rocks!

You and me both! Seriously, we're talking about roller coasters here! Unless it's Wilderness Run, or some other uber-tame kiddie coaster, it's NOT forceless people!!! -
Golden Ticket Awards 2017
DILinator replied to A.J.'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey, they got the Top Steel coaster right, and I can't fault El Toro over The Voyage (I haven't ridden Phoenix or Boulder Dash), so that's cool too! Who cares how the rest of the rankings shake out? Besides, I always felt like these rankings were more for a GP crowd, rather than the hardcore enthusiast crowd anyway... Though that doesn't explain Europa Park beating CP again. Never mind... I can't explain these awards after all! Carry on with the complaining! -
^Really, at the end of the day, when this coaster is operating, and all the people who have complained about its length have ridden it, THIS is going to be the bottom line! Even on Goliath, which is definitely, objectively, a pretty short coaster, I wasn't thinking "dang, that was short!" when I got finished riding it. I was thinking "Oh man! What an awesome coaster that was! That stall was one of the best things EVER!!!" Twisted Cyclone looks great! I really hope 2018 is the year I finally get to SFOG for the first time, and get to ride this thing!

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

Thanks! People like you are the reason I can ride coasters in December with no lines. Really appreciate it. Like shovel, dodge massive potholes, sit around wishing it wasn't winter, drive to work when it's dark, drive home when it's dark even though it's only 5:00 and eventually get so sick of winter's bullsh*t that you buy plane tickets to Florida so you can get away from the snow? That's what 90% of people do in the winter. Winter sucks hard. Occasionally we'll go skiing so we can try to embrace winter and pretend it doesn't suck but overall it sucks and we all know it sucks. Being able to ride Nitro makes it suck less. F*ck winter. Thank god theme parks are expanding their holiday events. It's great. Not being a Winter Sports guy (or a Winter guy in general), I'm all about the concept of riding coasters in the Winter! I've never done it, and no parks nearby really run any of those promotions. But I like the concept! -

Well said! Nina Kleppe actually LOVES this! Almost all of my rides on Fury were in the back row... ZERO rattles! Of course, they were on the Left side mostly, so maybe that's it... Honestly, I think CPmillenia94 hit it on the head, because I have heard a rattle on other B&M's here and there sporadically, but it's certainly not the epidemic one might think from some enthusiasts! -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
DILinator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm just going to keep going to Cedar Point mid-week the first weeks in May it's open, and ride Steel Vengeance with minimal waits and NO Fast Lane at all! -
I'm 100% on board with everything you said! If people ask me next year what my favorite ride at IoA or Universal is, I'll say Dueling Dragons, and if/when they say it's not there anymore, I'll say it's STILL my favorite ride there. That was SUCH a quality ride, pound for pound, that's it's still a stunner that's it's going to be no more. And to get back to what the guy before said about it being the worst decision a park has ever made, I'm trying to think of a worse one, and nothing is immediately coming to mind... If there is one, feel free to refresh my memory, but this is pretty terrible!

The Official TPR Video Thread!
DILinator replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'll add my vote as well! I'm a big fan of lists, and watching those videos, and your videos are better, so yes! I'm glad you're "getting into the biz'!" -
Until Goliath, Raging Bull was my favorite coaster in the park, even after X-Flight! I too, never understood the "hate" the ride got, because I've only gotten crazy awesome rides one it! Plenty of airtime, and it's just fun, fun, fun! Goliath, while still 3 of 3 for the RMCs I have ridden, is in my Top 10 coasters, and is an awesome coaster in its own right! Yes, that stall is LIFE, and I only wish I had been able to ride it more the time I went there! Unfortunately, it IS one of the busiest SF parks, and lines for Goliath are bonkers most of the time. Definitely going to marathon that sucker for an ERT event one of these special days they advertise! I feel like the S:UF's are the same both places, but I do prefer the original B:TR at SFGAm to the one at SFGAdv, if ever so slightly. Still, neither is a favorite B&M Invert for me. They're just not my cup of tea when it comes to an Invert experience. But I do prefer the one at SFGAm, however. Glad you enjoyed your trip there, and yes, aside from the crazy crowds the park can get, it's really not a bad place at all!

I agree... I've only been there twice, to be fair, but neither time did I come away feeling this way about the park! It's not as aesthetically pretty as some Six Flags parks, or CF parks, but has some pretty unique charmin parts of the park, I thought. Apparently, the toilet paper there was pretty unique, according to my report from earlier... (Methinks working nights and then staying up all day on Friday is getting the better of me! )

I'm not at all into Halloween, nor Haunted Houses, so that aspect of these events doesn't appeal to me. What DOES appeal to me however, is the night rides on roller coasters, and the atmosphere of the parks! And for that, nobody beats Kings Island at this time of year! I'd love to pay that place a visit during Haunt every year, though honestly I'll probably skip it this year since I don't have a Pass. But seriously, if you haven't done KI during Haunt at least once, you're missing out! It's awesome!

Please don't bother this man or the park with this. They aren't going to change anything based on an enthusiasts requests. He may do the designing, but the park has the final say on what they are willing to pay for. I'm sure if the park wanted it longer, they would have asked for it. Seriously... Just... DONT! Repeat after me... There. Is. Nothing. Wrong. With. Twisted. Cyclone's. Length. It's. Going. To. Be. A. Kick. A$&. Ride!!!

Pretty much solely because no one has seen a Skywarp previously in an amusement park. That's my guess. I would say that, but also, I would say because of two other reasons... 1) No one has seen a Skywarp previously in a fair, either, which is one of the BIG knocks on the Super Loops, and why they get hated on. and... 2) It's a little more involved of a ride experience than a Super Loop, which, although I've yet to ride an "Amusement Park" model, are fairly basic in their ride experience, from having ridden them at fairs for years. This involves a twist (literally), and a near head-on collision (visually at least), which should add to the thrill for some riders at least. So there's that...

If this is your "Worst news ever", you have lived a VERY blessed life! Consider yourself EXTREMELY fortunate! Nobody's getting rid of their season passes. Exactly! Give me a break! I can't believe how many people ran with that nonsense, and actually thought he WOULD! I was just like... Seriously people??? Have you visited the train wreck that is the Darien Lake thread? Ugh! No kidding! That's the one thread I avoid like the plague on this site! I made the mistake of dipping my toes back in there recently and... NOPE!!!

Six Flags Mexico (SFM) Discussion Thread
DILinator replied to zburns999's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I think this is a great addition for the park, and I like the colors and the theme! But I'm not going to lie... After riding both sides of my first Free Fly earlier this year at GAdv, I came away pretty UN-enthused about them... Maybe it's because I'm only about 200 pounds, and my sister I was riding with less than that, but there was hardly any flipping, and it just didn't do much other than that... Besides being REALLY short! I wanted to like them a lot, because the concept is great! But without the spinning, the ride experience just didn't deliver for me, and I still haven't bothered to make the trek to SFGAm this year, in spite of having a pass to go there all year. But again, I still like this addition for this park!
