Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread

I think the next coaster will be on the intense side, but not I305 intense. Intamin is out of the question. Maybe Mack Rides. Probably a B&M wing or invert. -

Anything but a b&m and ill be happy. Mav or toro or skyrush type of ride or all 3 and kd would be perfection Dude, stop. The next coaster is going to be a B&M whether you like it or not. No 1 would like it. I expect great things from KD Because no one likes Fury 325, or Thunderbird, or Diamondback, or Leviathan, right? *facepalm -

Does anyone know how a front entrance coaster would work? You would have to tear out a big portion of Peking lot to the right for it to happen. -

Is that the one in Knight Valley or whatever it's called? Yeah. But maybe a GCI isn't the best fit. Still want a launched wingrider or an invert. -

I'm not sure that would be an awesome ride. Okay, maybe not like that one, but why not a GCI? They're not rough, provide tons of intensity and airtime, and are not too expensive. Also, KD still needs a great woodie besides Rebel Yell. I'd still rather have a B&M, but a nice woodie wouldn't be bad either. But let's wait and see. -

You know what would be an awesome ride that no one has mentioned? A large GCI woodie like Wood Coaster in China. Err, maybe not that big but at least a good sized one. -

International Street opens at 10:00 AM so you can ride Dominator, Berserker, and the Eiffel Tower if you wish before the rest of the park opens at 10:30. Season passholders get the opportunity to ride Volcano and one other ride (its a daily rotation) beginning at 10:00 through the early-entry rope on the Dominator walkway. I wouldn't consider either of these intense at all. In fact, I believe I'd consider Kumba and almost every older B&M invert I've been on more intense than these two rides. Even Afterburn at Carowinds is more intense than Fury. Are you just saying that because you are an Intamin fan (no offense)? Fury is way more intense than Afterburn. Thunderbird is debatable but it's still an intense ride. -

If you had to choose between Kings Dominion keeping Shockwave or getting a Vekoma SLC to replace it, which would you choose? I'd the TOGO standup in a heartbeat. -

But then you can't ride it as much. IMO Intamin is somewhat overrated. -

What a coincidence. I'm now at "This B&M donkey is so smooth!" -

From what I've heard Thunderbird is as intense as some Intamins. -

*cough Being torn down *cough Yeah, maybe we should keep it because it has a nice color scheme. No I mean that KD will need a cool color scheme because Shockwave is going. In would love turquoise track with white supports and neon accents. -

It should be re-themed to the apple falling on Issac Newton's head. That would be such a cool theme for Candy Apple Grove. -

The red track is wing coaster track for Hotgo park in China I'm afraid. Then that leaves the other track. I'm actually not sure if that's dive track. It could be winged because of the cut in the tie. It also makes sense because Cedar Point would probably be getting purple track for Valravn. -

No, Their Gigas will always be too far spread out element wise and not able to handle such quick transitions at such high speeds. The thrill factor will never match up I believe. We shall see though. For now, Ill stick with my baby lol I dunno. I thought Fury 325 was more intense because of the open seating combined with the twists and overbanks. But to each their own. And speaking of B&M, has anyone checked out the track that just arrived from the plant? I have no idea what they are for. Neither looks like Cedar Point's dive coaster, so who knows. -

There were two types of track there: one gray-ish brown and one orange-ish red. I know that the latter is NOT dive track, more like either invert or wing track, and the former has the marking of dive track but the tie is cut instead of straight like dive track. My guess is that the new dive coaster will be have lower trains and the former is going to CP. The latter is a tossup between Great Adventure, Kings Dominion, and Canada's Wonderland. -

You know, I wonder if I305 should have been built by B&M. With Fury 325 they proved that hey can build a ride just as intense as an Intamin, but also way more reliable and way more comfortable.
