  1. The Crypt is the one ride I refuse to go on, no matter how cool the theming is.
  2. After Valravn Cedar Point needs that dark ride! It would give visitors a place to cool off from all that sun.
  3. Why would he abbreviate it like that? Also I couldn't tell because B:SC only has about 2 seconds of airtime total. Meant to say B: SC
  4. Now that I think of it, B:SC has very underrated airtime. There are times where it will eject you out of your seat.
  5. 1. What will KD lose with Shockwave? It was boring, painful, and had horrible operations. 2. KD does need an airtime machine. 3. Why would they start to clear a big portion of land if they are not using it for an eventual coaster? Unless they are bringing back the safari. I doubt they are putting a coaster in Shockwave's spot, unless it's a junior invert. 1a) reading comprehension, I said one thing we're losing is airtime in the post which you replied to. 1b) don't interpret this as "bring back Shockwave" but we don't know yet if anything better will replace it. As I liked the ride, while almost any new coaster would be an improvement, I can't think of any other kind of ride that wouldn't be a let down. 1c) I'm just really sick of coaster hate, that someone would get emotional satisfaction from seeing a ride close or be torn down, without any consideration of people that like it, that it still helps your park visit by occupying people, and just being an expression of being unappreciative and jaded. 2) KD has a lot of airtime in many different forms. It gained one of the rarest kinds with I305, extreme ejector, but has been whittling away at airtime elsewhere with the braking of Hurler and closing of Shockwave. It could be argued it doesn't need extended floater air or an airtime specialist, or with that much air it's only one step from having all types represented. Either way, airtime is an example of the "funny math" that occurs when comparing KD with other parks, that might even be helped (in some people's minds only) by closing some coasters, and definitely by replacing some. The airtime at BGW is easier to calculate and more obvious, but no way is the total greater than KD with over twice the coasters. 3)I don't know why they're clearing land but I can see only one way a coaster's going back there: if the entrance can be located within the current borders. For example, a launch coaster with the bulk of it further away, like FoF's layout. Even then, probably would call for the removal of Anaconda (more ride replacement). I think the reason we're going so long between coasters is this shift towards coaster replacement, both inevitable and desirable. That and I305 being such a big one, advanced probably 1-2 years early, and the park really needing other improvements, not yet complete but getting there. Shockwave had airtime? That's news to me, because I and thousands of other people never felt anything (but pain) on those hills. Also we can hate on a coaster however we want. Nearly everybody' thinks that Shockwave was a piece of crap.
  6. Or they don't have the market to sustain growth? Sure the first year or two you'll see big jumps in attendance, but what about after? Kings Dominion is well visited enough though.
  7. Since I305, they've gotten Dinosaurs Alive, Windseeker, a light show, Planet Snoopy, a major appearance upgrade, and a major waterpark expansion. I think they're attended enough to get constantly updated, including a coaster.
  8. This could have been done without removing Thunder Road. Nice addition, poor execution by Carowinds

  10. Still have yet to discover this mythical rattle you speak of. Fury 325 does have the smallest bit of a rattle though, especially compared to earlier in the season. Yesterday when I was riding I305 the train shook more than it used to, especially going into transitions. Last time I rode it was in 2013, and it was relatively calmer then.
  11. I think a ride like Banshee would be perfect as KD's next coaster. Although I'd rather have something that delivers on the airtime that KD sorely misses.
  12. Fury is quite a bit smoother as well. I305 jerks you into each element. Doesn't Fury 325 have a nasty rattle though? His post was about riding in the rain, I don't understand how yours relates. I meant to point out that I305's rattle contributes to its insanity in the rain. But still, it's an enjoyable rattle.
  13. Okay, maybe I was being too hyped up, but I still think a really good coaster could go there. An Invert would be a great fit. Also, how'd you remember my name?
  14. Whatever the next coaster will be, it's going to be huge. Kings Dominion is full of signature rides, and this upcoming one will be no different. It could potentially be bigger (lengthwise) than Intimidator 305!

  16. I think that the land clearing is for 2017. Now for what could be coming? Kings Dominion is a big testing ground for Paramount/Cedar Fair. I feel like they are getting something unique. I think that Cedar Fair is waiting so long to give KD their coaster because it's something they are trying to develop.
  17. I've ridden Alpengeist (which is assumably as rough as Raptor) and it's not as bad in the front. Maybe it's the same for Raptor?
  18. So what happened with that Lake Monster thing? It would have been a fantastic addition.
  19. They only seem to be making forceless designs for Cedar Point. Banshee and Fury 325, while not exactly on an Intamin level, are still pretty forceful. CP has enough extreme coasters, I actually like the change of pace with GateKeeper. If CP gets a large dive coaster from B&M, it will most certainly be enjoyable by everyone. I just think that a GCI woodie would be a better fit, as they currently do not have a good wooden coaster. Then in the future they can RMC Mean Streak.

  21. I experienced I305 in the rain one time in May 2013. It hurt like hell in the front row. I also noticed that it rattled more than my last visit when I went yesterday.
