Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

So if you've seen the video for Kentucky Kingdom's new coaster Storm Chaser, you see that they've made an entirely new wooden coaster using the preexisting wooden structure. RMC should do the same to Mean Streak instead of converting it into a steel coaster. Otherwise, CP would only have one tiny woodie and two hybrids. -

I love this idea! It still keeps an intense/intimidating name for the ride. King Cobra as others have suggested sounds like a wacky worm, not the most intense giga on the planet. Kilimanjaro, I like it! Also, I've never been to KD when the crypt has been down. And I have been plenty of times! King Kobra works for a B&M hyper or invert but I agree not for an Intamin giga. -

If KD is going to re-theme I305, they should call it Kilimanjaro and theme it to Africa's highest mountain. It would fit in very well with the area. -

Backlot Stunt Coaster and Avalanche don't suggest a "safari," either. Avalanche kind of does. -

Anyone remember "Life Cycle of a New Coaster on TPR"? I've got my checklist handy right now. -

Huh? Makeover? If you can't handle the spice that's too bad. But don't ruin it for the rest of us I mean one, so you don't black out, and two, the racing theme needs to go. If you black out, there is something wrong with you, not the ride. 2, the racing theme fits it perfectly. Nascars go super fast and so does the ride. I dont get what you're trying to say. Hmm??? Ummmm, lots of people black out. I mean it's a fantastic ride, and my 2nd favorite behind Fury 325, but I just wish it was more re-rideable. Also, the racing theme does not fit Safari Villiage. I mean at least Flight of a Fear's theming is inside. -

If you are riding I305 for the first time, definitely sit towards the middle. It's not quite as intense there as it is in the front and ESPECIALLY the back. I think the whole ride needs a makeover, from the theming to the first turn. -

Couldnt have said it better myself, B&M tries to match Intamin but they can't. If you can't handle Intamin then stay out the kitchen! Your Intamin blindness is getting annoying. Not every coaster has to or can be a very intense Intamin. B&M makes awesome coasters too. -

If they were to go with a B&M, my first choice would be an invert. ...still the best type B&M has to offer. 2 inverts at one park seems odd to me. I'd be beyond disappointed of they go that route For the last time, we are not getting an Intamin. well at least you realize how annoying you sound and are being. who told you kd is getting a b&m Cedar Fair's history the past several years. 2008 behemoth at CW, 2009 diamondback at KI, 2010 intimidator at Carowinds .KD I put a Intamin, then your argument is wrong. Ermagherd! Lerrn yerr grermer! -

Maybe if we take Hurler down in the future but it's inevitable that we're getting a B&M on the next couple of years. -

But then you have Diamondback which is one of the most airtime filled coasters ever (and is my No. 6 coaster). -

A B&M hyper would fit in great, but an Intamin would be too similar to I305. -

Ok, yes, I was exaggerating a but for fun. Its just a line I like. And, no, there probably wont be another coaster like i305 (or Skyrush) for a while. For those loving AP: AP was trimmed to death. It is my least favorite of the B&M hypers I have been on. It has so much potential, but they have ruined it. Second hill, almost to the top, coming in with great speed, and *BAM* , a trim nearly as dramatic as i305's. (This was the part of the ride I looked most forward to; that dive into the turnaround, nearly missing Brewery Lake. The return had some fair ejector time, but it was just *meh* compared to Nitro. That Stengel like dive under the lift was also pretty trimmed, and instead of a snap through it, it floated pretty blandly past. And that "surprise" finale drop wasn't nearly as epic as it is made out to be. Above the average airtime for this coaster, but nothing to rave upon. Such wasted potential. I haven't been on Intimidator 232 to judge that one. But a hyper like Nitro would be the best at KD. I disagree, I think a ride like El Toro would be the best fit for KD. Or an Intamin Hyper Stop. We don't need an I305 copy. We don't need another Intamin. We need something with floater airtime and/or subtle intensity. I don't want a boring coaster, It won't excite me in the least Intamin is not the holy grail of coasters dude. KD needs a B&M -

I305 has close to no airtime: KD's only coaster with good airtime really is Rebel Yell. That's why the next coaster needs to be some sort of B&M. I found Fury 325 to have almost-Intimidator (not 305) like airtime on its hills.
