  1. With a B&M hyper, I think Kings Dominion could put an underground tunnel underneath the path behind the Effiel Tower that leads to Candy Apple Grove. It could be similar to Fury 325's underpath tunnel. That way the hyper could go in- and out- and use part of Shockwave's soon- to- be former site. However, it looks like from the picture there is a huge hill behind the Effiel Tower on the "mysterious" hyper coaster, so it could as well be a hill going over that same path instead of a tunnel. Yeah I was kinda thinking about that too.. But what i'm really saying is where would the airtime hills go? In the front of the park...
  2. I'm actually hoping we don't get a hyper in 2016 and that we instead get an RMC of Grizzly/Hurler in 2017 or 2018. But a hyper would give some nice airtime.
  3. That's why I said RMC. They are not that expensive, unless it's a launched one like Dollywood is getting, which KD won't. CF is really particular with company's they use. I just dont picture them using RMC for a while. I think they will watch how they age and go from there. I think 2017 is when they build their first RMC. They've been looking into them for a while.
  4. That would be a cool idea but they would somehow need to incorporate multiple trains. Also something that a lot of people are forgetting, expect a MAJOR improvement in food.

  6. That may be hard to pull off. Whenever quality takes on quality, things get rough! But, if they want quality more than quantity, then power to them . They have a good collection as is. I meant quality over quantity.
  7. 2016- Flat ride package 2017- New RMC using Grizzly/Hurler's wood 2018- Major theming/appearance improvements 2019- Dark ride 2020- Ride refurbishments/more appearance improvements I also think that the 40th anniversary logo will become their permanent logo. Something that may be a possibility is the return of the sky ride, but KD is a (somewhat) compact park (unlike Busch Gardens), so it doesn't need it.
  8. I think that Kings Dominion is ultimately going to be more like Knott's Berry Farm than Cedar Point. I think it's going to be a well themed, family friendly (but not oriented) park with a coaster selection more about quality than quality. I think a good amount of crappy coasters will be removed in the near future (unless given an RMC treatment).
  9. An RMC would be a perfect slot below I305 but above the majority of the park's coasters, as well as provide a great deal of airtime and maybe a couple smooth inversions, all while keeping some of the properties of a wooden coaster.
  10. The park still needs a great airtime machine. I think an RMC would deliver on that.
  11. KD could use a multi-launch family coaster. I believe it would help diversify the line-up of family rides. Something like Manta, but more sprawling. *cough Backlot *cough We need another legit coaster.
  12. Grizzly and Rebel Yell are fine. Hurler is worse because of how brutally rough it is. Trust me, Hurler's days are numbered.
  13. ^^ This. They already have enough beginner coasters. Their thrilling lineup is lacking.
  14. Yeah man! And Hurler has that problem now of being rough AND boring (not even that rough, but what else is there to notice except that what a tragedy?). Thunder Run, considered an inspiration for Hurler's layout, got topper track and one reviewer described it as now one of the best wood coasters. Sure, no inversions etc., but what's wrong with a coaster restored to run as good or better than the day it opened? I'd miss the jackhammer first curve but am intrigued by how it would ride if smooth and fast too. Maybe even with a little tricky RMC twisty bits it would come across as the mini-wood-I305. And you have to remember the difference between a straight Topper track job and a full I-Box conversion is like a Hyundai vs. Ferrari pricewise. They could go on to other major improvements in only 1-2 years rather than 5. Hurler is boring still even with topper track. It's not like the Phoenix where it's restraint system allows for tons of airtime. I think Hurler eventually needs to be either torn down or given the iron horse treatment, which is still less expensive than most coasters.
  15. Apparently you've never read the Cedar Point Discussion Thread or the comments section on Cedar Point's Facebook page. Still it can't be worse than Owpengeist!
  16. Alpengeist is brutal. It needs those vest restraints BADLY. I've never head anyone say Rougarou is rough, just a slight rattle at the end like Dominator.
  17. That may not be as radical or far off as you think. My fingers are still crossed for GhostRider getting at least a partial RMC topper track makeover for 2016. With the Ghost Town 75th anniversary hints dropped by Ouimet earlier this year and by Raffi Kaprelyan at the Voyage media day, as well as a comment by Schilke at the last IAAPA that RMC had 'a little extra' planned for 2016 in addition to their 3 big projects (which we can know guess are Storm Chaser, Dollywood, & SFDK Roar), I'm (perhaps foolishly) optimistic. I think 2017 is when Cedar Fair really invests into RMC. I think that Ghostrider and Hurler at KD are going to be the first two to get the treatment. It may be 2017, but I do not think the decision makers at Knott's have any intention of I-Boxing GhostRider. From the statements out there, they seem pretty committed to keeping it a wooden coaster as a hat tip to the Knott family. No I mean ripping out the current wooden track and putting in entirely new wooden track (like Outlaw Run).

  19. That's pretty much what topper track is. It's laminated wood with a steel box rail, and the ride experience stays like a wood coaster, just very smooth. What I mean is an RMC layout, with banked turns and maybe a couple of inversions.
  20. Here's a radical idea that should happen someday: RMC should do a wooden horse for Ghostrider. As in, put entirely new wooden track on Ghostrider to keep the whole classic west feeling of the ride but making it smooth, insane experience. It would arguably be one of the best wooden coasters on earth.
  21. That probability is zero. Kings Dominion's getting a coaster in 2017, and Canada's Wonderland is due sometime as well (probably 2018). 2019 is Kings Island's year IMO.
