hahah i noticed that earlier lol...too funny! But yes RMC, both Hurlers please...We need this at Carowinds...Please and Thank You! Carowinds' is not going to be re-done. Kings Dominion is overdue for a coaster, not Carowinds, plus Cedar Fair does not clone coasters. -

With the price that RMC Hybrids go for, they might as well just convert the whole thing. -

Here's a crazy idea: convert both Hurler and Grizzly into one big steel hybrid. They could run along each other with two lift hills sort of like Twisted Colossus. But I guess KD wants a higher coaster count, so they'd only do Hurler. -

Only Kings Dominion would RMC theirs (and re theme it), as Carowinds just got Fury 325 and it's their only woodie after Thunder Road gets removed. -

I think we get the point. You need to understand that Cedar Fair knows more about the amusement industry than you do, and has made Kings Dominion into an excellent park. Complaining day after day isn't changing anything, and I'm getting tired of listening to it. I don't complain day after day, and I was just tellin' a little joke. Sheesh. you actually do complain.. a LOT. just an observation. Maybe a bit paranoid but I don't think he's constantly complaining. And he was just making a joke above. -

I think that they would make it about 110-120 feet, about 55-60 MPH, and about 3,500 feet long. -

You know what? Hurler 2.0 makes a lot of sense! Hurler is in a large, woody area and is in an area of the park that needs attention. Plus; they are not incredibly expensive. I could see them making it a lot larger than Hurler currently is and of course, adding a steep drop, inversions, and banked turns. I think it will be the first RMC coaster Cedar Fair builds. -

BGW also attracts DC area people (well, at least better than SFA). -

How about a winged hypercoaster? It would give a very unique experience. What they can do is re-design the restraints to be like Skyrush to maximize airtime. -

1. Cedar Point and Canada's Wonderland have already started construction, so 2016 is out. Valleyfair and Michigan's Adventure will most likely get new coasters in 2017, and Kings Dominion and Carowinds will get new ones in 2018. Cedar Fair has adopted an "opportunity precedes necessity" mindset, and I don't expect it to change anytime soon. 2. True, but space is becoming an issue, and the Shockwave is sitting on prime real estate. Remember that Kings Dominion doesn't need another kiddie coaster because they have already have two (Great Pumpkin and Woodstock Express), and two more dedicated "family" coasters (Avalanche, Backlot Stunt Coaster). 3. See #2. 1. If you're referring to the In the Loop/Screamscape video, that's complete guesswork, and IMO the channel writers have no clue what they are talking about (except when they correctly identified the three coasters on the chopping block and which one will go first), since none of that was confirmed by the park. Everyone thought that 2016 was the year, but clearly corporate CF said no (see my #1 above). 2. This title will most likely go to Carowinds at some point before that (#savethunderroad). Cedar Fair sees more potential for growth in that park than in Kings Dominion. However, I believe that Kings Dominion will reach 15 coasters at some point in the next ten years, despite the park's seemingly more spaced-out investment schedule. Michigan's Adventure I guess, but Valleyfair hasn't even had any rumors. At least Kings Dominion hasthe wing coaster rumor and the Fury trademark, so it will come no later than 2017. Kings Dominion, believe it or not, is still one of Cedar Fair's signature parks. The whole Carowinds thing is for southeast domination, but Kings Dominion is technically the mid-atlantic, so they are dominating a different area. I am predicting a winged hypercoaster will be their next big investment. I could also see another a Planet Snoopy coaster coming, bringing the coaster count to 16 (pending a removal). I think they care more about having the most dominant parks than having specific dominant parks. They know that Busch Gardens is a huge threat, so they can't not give big additions to us. -

Looks very good, but: 1. CF is not going to wait until 2018. We're not exactly Michigan's Adventure. 2. They aren't going to use Shockwave's land for a new coaster, unless it's a junior invert or something. I still think Huler is the most likely to be torn down, despite the "retracking". 3. They would make it longer than that, probably around 4,500-5,000 feet for a 200 ft tall coster. Other than that it would be a great fit under I305! -

Not to be a pain but anybody have an answer. This got buried in when will KD get a coaster debate. B&M standups are 54", so it's probably closer to that. -

I agree. I think that a new coaster would be great for either park but they still have fantastic lineups as they are right now. But if I had to add anything to KD it would be a winged hypercoaster, and if I could add anything to SFGAdv, it would be a Maverick style launch coaster. -

There's no way KD is getting a coaster in 2018. Cedar Fair doesn't wait that long for one of their major parks. It will be either 2016 or 2017. This isn't Valleyfair or Michigan's Adventure we're talking about. -

I didn't find Dominator rough at all, and last time I rode Alpengeist (2009) it was butter smooth, I'll find out if it really got bad tomorrow! And a Maverick or El Toro type ride would be a perfect addition to any park. There are plenty of much better rides for your kids to go on than Shockwave, even Woodstock Express is a great little coaster! Cedar Fair doesn't work with Intamin anymore, or at least for the time being. I could see them working Mack Rides to make an insane twister coaster, but it's more likely we see a B&M hyper or wingrider. -

For some reason I find Shockwave smoother than Alpengeist. What the coaster needs is a new coat of white paint and the new invert trains with the vest restraints like on Banshee, to minimize headbang. -

From what I've heard "Fury" (not 325) is trademarked by Cedar Fair. I think there's a good chance that will be used as the 2016/2017 coaster's name. I just hope they change the hornet theme and make it use the woody terrain like Grizzly. -

H ll no! I305 is one of the smoothest coasters out there! The back is rougher on most coasters anyways. -

Are we feeling a bit envious? Jaded? No need to feel that way. Anyway, Carowinds has been in need of more attractions for a long time. It was one of the unloved stepchildren when it was under Paramount (outside of getting Top Gun/Afterburn). I'm sure many at Carowinds felt the same way about KD seeming to get everything back then. Kings Dominion has a nice selection/quantity of coasters. Having them focus more on aesthetics for the time being is of great substance and is needed to keep people coming back. KD will get a new big investment soon, don't worry. They are just trying to get the other under-served markets up to par. Carowinds is about to go down one coaster(two technically if you count TR as 2 as I do since they are independent of one another). Charlotte has a population growth that will tip 1 million in the next 5-10 years...that's the city..not the Metro area which is way more than that. Carowinds also has the potential to extend their operating season since (besides KBF) it is the furthest south. If Dollywood (in the mountains) can stay open til New Years, then there is really no reason they couldn't do the same at Carowinds. They have to make the park ready/worth it to keep open longer. This at least is one reason I think they are focusing more on this park. I agree. Carowinds badly needs these updates. Kings Dominion is already a well established park. And that giant dueling wing coaster is coming either 2016 or 2017, so we shouldn't expect the park to be abandoned like Six Flags America. -

Here's a not-so-radical concept, Omar: It won't happen. Hear me out: Kings Dominion is my home park, and I've been visiting since the post-Volcano Paramount years. I would love nothing more than another world-class B&M or Intamin coaster to complement Volcano and Intimidator 305. I agree that Cedar Fair is completely dissing KD by postponing the park's next large coaster. Since 2013-2014, Kings Dominion has arguably been due for a new, large coaster (and I ain't talkin' Triotechs here). Unfortunately, there's enough evidence at this point that we can with near-absolute certainty rule out a large roller coaster for Kings Dominion in 2016. My guess is that Cedar Point gets the largest coaster in 2016, with Worlds of Fun or Valleyfair getting a smaller B&M. In 2017, however, I could see a pair of identical medium-large B&Ms implemented at Canada's Wonderland and at Kings Dominion. As for 2016, expect a thrilling flat ride or a Triotech and the removal of Shockwave (or even just minor improvements) in preparation for 2017 at Kings Dominion. The only reason why CF might hesitate on a Triotech in the next few years is that they already have a 3D shooting dark ride in Boo Blasters. It's not fantastic, but it's still fun albeit tacky. But coming back to the topic of a B&M 4D coaster: 1. Space - For the first time ever, KD is all but out of space for attractions, meaning something's gotta go to make way for the new, and those 4D coasters are frickin' HUGE. 2. Cost - I doubt that Cedar Fair will drop $40M plus on KD in one year, especially with the v 3. "Carowinds Master Race" mentality This is really putting the brakes on any large investments in KD, at least for 10-20 years. Also, Carowinds is not going to affect Kings Dominion, just like Cedar Point doesn't affect Kings Island. We are still the 4th, sometimes 3rd most visited park in the chain, meaning we are still going to get new attractions throughout the years. -
