  16. New virtual reality rollercoaster at Europa-Park gets a virtual walking section The new virtual reality rollercoaster at Europa-Park is different from other virtual reality roller coasters. Normally, passengers only put their virtual reality glasses on in the station. The German theme park first allows visitors to walk through a virtual environment with their glasses. Then they step into a train while they still have the glasses on. They can see the cars in the virtual world. Other visitors and employees are also visible. The principle is called 'roam & ride'. "It is a fluid combination of walking around through virtual reality and an intense thrillride", says a press release. The new attraction is called Eurosat Coastiality, based on the classic indoor roller coaster Eurosat from 1989. Last winter, the track was completely demolished and rebuilt. The virtual reality film that visitors get to see revolves around the science-fiction film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets from 2017. Europa-Park developed the technology together with VR Coaster, Holodeck VR and sister company MackMedia. "Our system not only ensures that guests are immersed in an exciting virtual world," says Thomas Wagner of VR Coaster. "It also makes the entry process on the roller coaster easier and more efficient." The experience is expected to open in September. Those who do not like virtual reality can also opt for a roller coaster ride without glasses. In that case the attraction is dominated by the Paris nightclub Moulin Rouge, under the name Eurosat - CanCan Coaster. Source
  17. Looks awesome! I really like that underground airtime hill just after the drop - which looks fantastic too.
  18. Sounds great! I guess the reason why it seemed to be still pretty popular is because of its double loops. It looks kind of impressive. But luckily, unlike at Lightwater Valley, at Legendia there are other (much better) rides to do!
  19. You're welcome. Legendia is really taking a different road now. That is clearly visible with their latest additions, such as the newer flat rides that are all well themed, the trackless dark ride Bazyliszek and - of course - Lech Coaster. Thanks! These newer Vekoma coasters really pack a punch for a relatively cheap price. I think Lech Coaster cost only 4.5 million euros! That is very cheap for such an awesome ride. I knew Legendia was home to Lech Coaster and that they opened the dark ride this season, but that was pretty much all I knew from this park. I had no idea what other rides the park had to offer. Thank you. Lech Coaster has a very exciting and aggressive layout, especially the second half. I was expecting this ride to be good, but it way better than just 'good'. It is insane. One of the craziest coaster I have done. Thanks! I agree. Like I said earlier, these rides are relatively cheap. They can make any smaller park a must-visit, just like it did with Legendia. Thank you. My report from Energylandia and Hyperion is coming soon. It is a huge park with a lot of rides, so it will take a bit more time to write it all out. Just be patient. Absolutely! The more of these newer Vekoma's, the better. They are fantastic rides. Thanks! I rode most of the larger flat rides, but the ones that spin too much would have made me sick for hours. I preferred riding Lech Coaster a few more times. Tornado is indeed the one from Lightwater Valley and American Adventure. It certainly is an odd ride. Apart from the double loops, it doesn't really do much. The fact that you also have to hold on in the "Soquet brace position" (with your arms crossed) doesn't really help.
