It's just that time of year when they do annual maintenance, also construction. According to different blogs, here are the reasons for two of the ride closures: Tatsu - lift hill chain replacement Riddler's Revenge - Repaint with JL construction Wtf? They're repainting Riddler but not Tatsu? Tatsu looks waaaay worse.

1 train operation on GR wouldn't be quite as bad if it didn't also come with 1 train staffing. If they would schedule 4 ROs on dock to check the train instead of only 2, you could at least cut down on the load time and get cycles every 5 minutes instead of 7. Although, staffing is more expensive than just running the trains, so I guess I understand from a business standpoint. But from a guest experience standpoint, it SUCKS. Bullet with 1 train is manageable, Pony with 1 train is manageable, Xcel with 1 train is standard and also manageable. Ghostrider with 1 train is heinous.

Most wait time apps rely on ride ops and team leads calling in their estimates every 30-60 minutes. So, either the lines had changed in the time since the last call OR.... dirty secret... a lot of employees will make up their counts and wait times because they are either understaffed and too busy, or they just get lazy.

Anyone ridden all the RMCs yet?

So jealous of all those topper track credits! I've been on I-box so far, but I feel like I'd enjoy topper track more -
IAAPA 2016 Live Updates!

The motion theater from Dynamic Attractions is my favorite new attraction concept from the last several years. It's such a full entertainment experience, I love the idea of tying in live performers and practical stunts / scenery along with media. -
I think the issue is that the load time is so slow with only 2 ROs on the dock that it would create an obnoxiously stacking wait for the train on the brakes. Also: Nobody working on Zoom in 2016 knows anything about the terms of Cedar Fair purchasing KBF in 1997. ROs are the WORST source for information because they repeat whatever rumor they heard 4th-hand from someone on a blog. Maintenance, however....

Jaguar's layout didn't take much figuring out because there was already so much open space to work with back in the mid 90s. As much as I love riding Bullet, it's not a great aesthetic. Especially if you remember what the park looked like before, it feels very shoe-horned in. The Cobra Roll at main gate is beautiful, but the flybys at Wagon Camp and Indian Trails are awkward.

When was this? We only went for Scary Farm last night (Thursday)and since we didn't go during the day, we got both Fast and Fright Lane. Ghostrider was running two trains and even with Fast Lane, we waited about 20 minutes for the front and about 10 for the 4th or 5th row for our first ride. It was Wednesday afternoon. Park was really slow and pretty much every other ride was 10 minutes or less. I get that they don't to waste staffing or trains on slow days, but considering how long the ride is and how slowly it loads, it really needs to run both trains.

Omg, the Day/Night combo ticket is the BEST THING. The backlot mazes all open at 5:15, and you can knock them all out before the park even officially opens. Exorcist was absolutely terrifying. A lot of really wonderful practical and lighting effects as well. Krampus was a masterpiece of terror mixed with delight. I was literally beaming and giddy with joy while also screaming obscenities. My favorite of the night by far. Freddy vs Jason was cool, but I don't have a whole lot of investment in the characters. There's a really fabulous scrim effect in the maze that's super impressive. Also, there are these blackout hallways with lights that shine right in your face, so you can't see anything around you or where you're going... super effective. The light isn't bright enough to be irritating, but its leave you completely oblivious to what's in the dark, and it's really really spooky. AHS was pretty cool, but I feel like I went through at a bad time. Some of the walk thru videos show a lot more than what I experienced, and the line got up to 2 hours later on, so I didn't get to go a second time. Anybody know what the deal is with the totally empty room in the Hotel section? Terror Tram was lame. Sorry clowns, but pretending to come at me with obviously pretend weapons that you're obviously not going to use... doesn't work. Texas Chainsaw was pretty good. Again, not a lot of personal investment for me, but a solid maze. Got squirted in the face and there's some really intense smell-o-vision in one of the rooms. The street talent seemed to be pretty good at scaring other people, but I got very few startles. Sticking an obviously plastic knife up to my throat just doesn't work. I know your chainsaw doesn't have a chain on it. Staring me down doesn't intimidate me. And nobody ever talks, which is so weird to me. Skipped Halloween because the line was too long. Overall... As someone who has been very critical of my past visits to HHN (and thinks the present could still be better), I have to say that I was very satisfied with this trip. Will most likely go again next year with the Day/Night ticket. I just wish the lines weren't so awful.

The thing that's so infuriating is: Not ONE of the people who pushed the "offensive and stigmatizing mental illness" label even knew what the specifics of the experience were. Not one of them saw it, and the most vocal opponents based everything they knew about the attraction from a brief and vague summary from a blogger who attended a media preview. Where the hell were all these people during the nearly decade long run of the two Asylum mazes?
