  1. ^Agreed. And don't leave a pee ring on the toilet seats/stand up and pee in the sit-down stalls...that's why urinals were made!
  2. Now that I've been actually visiting parks since the dawn of this thread (was in a huge park drought at the time this thread was originally alive and kicking) here's my unwritten rules that will give you the most out of your day. -Don't 'space out' in line. Nothing drives me more insane than the group ahead of me not paying attention and there's a huge gap...it only opens up the door for rail hoppers to cut through and cut the other 100 people behind them. -Leave the tablet at home. Leave the iPhone in the pocket (this is something I'm guilty of and am working on). You're at the park to have fun and socialize with other people who are with you, not surf Facebook constantly. Why I say I'm guilty of it at the moment: I often check the CGA thread while at the park, and may post something if deemed necessary. Mainly this happens in line. I did do good though on my last few park visits and only surfed the web when sitting down eating lunch (who doesn't like a good read while eating?) -Leave the bedroom at home. There's nothing worse than the one ahead of you getting their multiple bags with 30 compartments on each checked at security only to find they have to ditch some items. -Get there early! Nothing is more satisfying than 1: parking close to the gates...very possible at CGA and 2: be the first in line at security and you can avoid the kinds of people I mentioned in the above bullet point. -Don't walk around blasting music obnoxiously loud. Not everyone likes gangster rap or ??? If you want to play a tune, keep the volume at a reasonable level if you're wanting to show your friends something...or just use ear buds. -Just enjoy the day. Don't stress over some kids hopping the rails. Playing police is going to only work you up and frustrate you, not to mention making an out of yourself. Yes its annoying. Yes we all hate it and yes we all shake our heads in disgust but leave it at that. If it comes to someone endangering themselves, it is best to just inform an employee rather than trying to be a hero (deja vu of that line jumper thread has hit me ) So yea, that's it.
  3. I, too, also like the Paramount-style (Citigraph) map over CF's 'Rocko's Mosern Life' maps, a little bit more realistic if you can call it that
  4. Check throughout the CGA thread, there are numerous updates, some photos from us, some from GCI, and some from the park
  5. The "Take the Tunnel" thing came from Apocalypse down at SFMM...so yup, a GCI coaster!
  6. I had heard that it was just the drop that will be covered.
  7. From what I was reading (Link), it looks like the descent tunnel as its being called is going to have all 4 sides covered making it pretty much almost completely dark. Wood will be on the sides while corrugated metal will cover the top and bottom sides. As we already know it now, it is being labeled as the worlds longest descent tunnel for a wooden coaster. So, how many other coasters have covered drops? I can think of Ghost Rider (just a roof), and CA Screamin' (2/3 covered)...and that Schwarzkopf that lived at Astro World (Viper?).
  8. I don't see it being that heavily themed (after all this is Cedar Fair, not Disney) Plus with all of the noise the ride and riders would make, sfx in the tunnel would be useless.
  9. Visually it may look strange but the truth is, we are going to be riding it more than we'll be just staring at it I hope they can pull it off with some decent theming for the tunnel rather than it just being a Pony Express plywood tunnel.
  10. TAKE THE TUNNEL!!1!!" In all seriousness, this should be pretty interesting. While the truth is that its to dampen us people who like to go out and have fun (sorry neighbors if our excitement is too much for you), it will feel like dropping into a mine shaft. I second that flickering lantern idea. As long as they don't just string Xmas lights in the tunnel like on Demon.
  11. While we were dipping down pretty low, we are back up to pretty much $4/gallon for what I say, no apparent reason.
  12. ^The way that El Toro's drop starts off definitely reminds me of Gold Striker as the twist doesn't start so sudden. I was going to say that GS's drop is more like Troy's (which the lower half is almost) while the upper half of Troy banks almost immediately after the apex.
  13. And my Traxxas Rustler RC's alive again, and amazingly quick...might be even faster than Grizzly at CGA
  14. Really? I heard everything should be ready the 2nd Tuesday of next week
  15. Yea, looks like the roof might be getting some work done on it, along with its spire up top. Looks like primer, can't really tell.
  16. Anyone notice anything strange in the photo? Look just beyond Gold Striker. Coloring looks a bit off on something
  17. Wow! Yes this just made my rather crazy Monday much better I also like how there's a bit of straight before the banking kicks in. Yummy floater air and head choppers in the back seat!
  18. ^Because one mentioned about not being able to wait for the 29th of March, and the other making a comparison to when they have to wait for their park to open. The rafting was just a rumor and even the new film is a rumor...though a new film of who knows what is very likely since its due, nothing has been confirmed yet.
  19. Just getting into the RC hobby, my cousin surprised me with a $200 RC car as a birthday gift (Traxxas Rustler, pretty darn fast!). After 20 seconds into its maiden drive (first run) I crashed it and broke the front bulkhead, where the suspension arms join onto the chassis. Bummer Loving the car though, was actually about ready to throw down the cash, hit up my local hobby shop and get one...but now I can use that cash for a better charger as the stock charger takes 8 hours to charge...I like being able to charge within 30 minutes instead, and have an all-in-one for all of my RC's *cues the Mario Bros game over tune*
  20. Centrifuge's turntable's getting new paint? I never even knew about that! I knew it was in dire need of it as you can see blue and orange underneath the chipped black paint. Oh yea, and Mr Squarepants...I also noticed this past week that there's nothing on their site in reference to the action theater, decided to check when we were discussing about what shows they had in the past and such.
  21. Reprofiled coasters...how about that Texas Tornado coaster (or the Windows 7 coaster icon)? And also Zonga, though didn't seem major, weren't the bottoms of the first 2 inversions raised a bit to reduce the G's?
  22. I don't really want to threadjack this, so I'll refrain from actually posting the video here. I decided last night to record a quick lap around my modified GS recreation, which is uploading as I type this. You can hop on over to my Youtube channel if you want to check it out (Sorry, no fancy titles, music or sunsets...just raw POV) Random note: I need to find a .3DS elephant to stick in there haha
  23. I was a little worried a couple weeks ago at SCBB when I boarded their S&S tower, Double Shot. I took one of the end seats facing the beach, pulled down the restraint and then had a tough time getting the belt to reach. Concerned that I would be too big for it though I've lost about 15 lbs since I last rode it, I was baffled. I found out that that particular seat's belt was cut a bit short. Riding in the other seats a couple more times that day I was perfectly fine, completely avoiding that one seat that could have denied my ride.
  24. From what I recall, I'd also have to go with Matterhorn .
