I noticed a large lot cleared across the street from CW. It was visible from the lift hill on Leviathan. Is that parking overflow or other retail space? -

Kennywood replacing the Old Mill with Garfields Nightmare was a bad downgrade. -

Agreed. I'm not overly thrilled with the announcement either. It's a solid ride but being someone that's ridden both Sheikra and Griffon I find myself somewhat underwhelmed. It'll be a fun ride and will fit nicely with the rest of the park. -

I wouldn't be surprised. When we walked passed on Saturday there were survey markers all over that area. It's such a big space I'm surprised they didn't put a larger attraction there. Unless Skyhawk and Eagles are just the first phase of something bigger. -

Wasn't too bad yesterday. Guardian and Leviathan were the longest wait, about 45 minutes. Today it was packed, I assume it was because of the Labor (labour) day celebration with fireworks. it was a great weekend trip. will do it again sometime. Although next time I'll be better prepared. I'm still not sure how many liters my gas tank holds or how fast I'm really driving... Lol. -

So we enjoyed a full day at the park today. First time ever at the park but having been to both Kings Island and Kings Dominion it felt familiar. I will say that CW is the nicest of the three in my opinion. Really enjoyed the big coasters but there are a few rough ones here. I rode Shockwave and Nightmares which was unique and exciting. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get on the Sledge Hammer. -

Going to the park for the first time this coming weekend. Any advice? Will be arriving late Friday and spending Saturday and Sunday at the park. Might hit the hockey HOF or Marineland on Monday. -

i would be surprised if the name changed. My guess is that the delayed announcement was out of respect for the recent incident. -

I still enjoy mean streak. I remember waiting 2+ hours back when it opened. Now I can get 3 rides in 30 minutes on some days. Would be nice to see some extra tlc but I'm not sure it really needs RMC. -

Hope you enjoyed the visit today. I was there myself and it was a nice day. Weather was a tad warm but otherwise perfect. Crowd wasn't too bad either. -

Oh, well don't hold your visit to Six Flags America against the chain as a whole. Lol Ended up going to the park but didn't go in. I didn't check the website so I got there around 5pm and found that they close at 8pm...... Needless to say it wasn't worth paying $20 for parking and $61 for admission. Maybe next year... -

Looks like I'll be about 15 miles away when I arrive in in DC on Monday for work. May have to see if I can swing by the park in the afternoon. Haven't been to a Six Flags park since SFGA in 2009........ -
Conneaut Lake Park (CLP) Discussion Thread

There seems to be different stories floating around regarding the current state. All accounts suggest that the park has been operating at a loss but that it was due to the agency putting money back into the park for repairs and upgrades. Apparently they are working to improve the campground and stage in order to generate revenue outside of the normal operating season. Additionally there is some lakefront property that they are looking to sell that could fetch $1M or more. That could go a long way to pay off debt. I'm not saying it's turned the corner or on a clear path to recovery but it definitely seems the outlook is different depending on the source. -

It's currently going through a multi year project. Not sure if next year completes it or if 2017. Also Unsure if it includes the final water scene but if not maybe they have something else planned. -

If you will be there all day then skip the VIP stuff, you won't need it. If you're pressed for time get whichever suits your needs. Most lines are usually less than 30 min. In most cases you can cover the park in half a day. -

Rougarou has been under 30min most days. It is available for early entry too. If it were me I'd hit other coasters with early entry. -
I personally do not believe they need to go that far. Most of the roughness is after the mid course brake run. I think they just need to smooth out a couple turns and the final airtime hills/dips. If you look at the maintenance shed, it looks like CP just took delivery of some new lumber. Looks like more work is planned.

Hurler at KD is probably my vote for roughest overall. Love the layout though. Vortex and Invertigo at KI are up there too. Mean Streak is on the list though I've ridden it 3-4 times per year since it opened so I'm somewhat used to it now. Lol

It's been a crazy day at the park. The wind and rain were relentless for hours. Felt like a small tropical storm on the beach. -

Windy day at the park today. Many of the coasters were down at different times due to weather. Even Raptor went down around 9p or so. It looked like maintenance was working on Iron Dragon all day. It appeared that they had all or some of the chain removed and being inspected. A worker was on top of the chain lift at the bottom of the lift hill and appeared to be welding something. Another worker was on a crane near the top of the lift hill performing some inspection. Hopefully they have it up and running again soon. -

Would be a nice spot for a Premier LIM. Plenty of space for a decent layout. Maybe an over under loop like fullthrottle. -

Saw that Iron Dragon was down, sad because it's a favorite. Anyone know why Top Thrill is down? Didnt look like anyone was even working on it. -
Best Pendulum Flat Ride?

Having ridden both, I would say that I prefer the restraints as well as the wider arc of Black Widow. Max air has better load times though. Way better. -

I think Kennywood is more likely to see a Gravity Group coaster at some point. They just built a family woodie for Palace over at Story Land. They seem to make good use of terrain which is something the Kennywood woodies are well known for.
