[RCT3] GCI terrain coaster
tatsu_dude replied to Dapalm's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
That looks really good! I hope you plan on including many random tunnels and head choppers! Is there a station fly-through? Kind of hard to tell. -
Weird Chinese Coasters

It appears the manufacturer of the Chinese looping Toboggan of death is called "Credible" http://rcdb.com/6584.htm Oh, the irony... -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

The fourth one down is the worst. Someone needs to rethink who they're calling an "uneducated human." -
This is Sandcastle Park, a seaside park inspired by Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and Coney Island. Yes, I know there is no ocean near my seaside park. It will run alongside the park, but I don't plan to put the park on a boardwalk, just to have the ocean across the street from the park, a la Luna Park. The major coasters and layout of the park are done for the most part, but I still need to fill in the gaps with more flats and some carny games. I also would like to have a dark ride, preferably a Laff in the Dark, but I have no idea how I would go about theming one and what CS to use. Please let me know what you think of the park! An overview of Sandcastle Park, in all its WIP glory. I like night shots. Thanks for reading, and please leave feedback! The park's signature ride is the Racer, a woodie built in-house by park staff. This coaster differs from the PTC racers in that the two lift hills are separated and the return runs are close together, leading to a more dramatic finish. My dark ride. A park like this really isn't complete without a dark ride, so I'd really like this one to be great. Can anyone recommend some dark ride sets, or give some tips? The midway and parking lot. Here you can see that the parking lot entrance has the cars driving under the Racer's structure. The back of the park feels more permanent, and will get trees and minimal theming eventually. This is Fire Bird, a large Arrow looper with interlocking loops. It interacts with the lake and many of the flats. Like all seaside parks, Sandcastle Park looks better at night. The Racer is lit up blue, making it a little creepy looking.

Romon World to open in China

Both coasters look awesome! For the x-train, is each car one or two rows? Kind of hard to tell from that angle. That theming looks amazing, especially around the Intamin, but that castle definitely isn't a ripoff of anything I've seen before... -
Bad coasters that have a glimmer of hope
tatsu_dude replied to fraroc's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
GhostRider. I'm still a bigger fan of this ride than most, but if it got some decent retracking done, it would probably shoot to the top of my wood coaster list. It doesn't need to be I-boxed, just topper track and some new wood, and no more trimming at the MCBR. -
Yes, finally! I find it interesting that RMC is continuing to use NAD's method of having a single bent to support both tracks, without a vertical beam down the middle. Looks less bulky than the PTC racers, which actually have two rows of bents next to each other. I'm so ready to see track on the top of the lift again!

A carnival/Joker theme would be great for Colossus! No matter what they do, they'd better refresh the "country fair" area, because right now it's more like "abandoned buildings, faded paint and parking lot coaster land". I'd honestly rather have SFMM put some themeing in the area and do something, anything to Scream than worry about themeing Colossus. A Bizarro theme (and repaint and actual grass under the ride, too!) would make Scream at least look ok, even if the ride is rough and sucky IMO to begin with.

Rides that Sometimes Run Differently
tatsu_dude replied to coasternate's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I'm going to say X2. The majority of the time it is extremely rough (though still a good ride IMO because of the drop) but every once in a while, due to factors I can never put a finger on, it is really smooth and AWESOME. It seems like most of these lucky smooth rides take place later in the day/after dark, with especially painful rides immediately after opening, but that could just be me. Can anyone else affirm? -

Saw this posted by "california_coasters" on Instagram... "I heard they might be removing Kingda ka.... it's very expensive to maintain.... so they will remove the track but keep the structure for zumanjaro...." -
Good to see them painting wood white. Hopefully that means they'll start rebuilding the damaged area of the lift soon. It doesn't look like they can install too much more track before hitting a big, charred hole! I also wonder when they'll start doing work on parts of the coaster other than the lift, because everything else looks almost untouched still.

True! Apocalypse at SFMM, empty station, back when it wasn't even close to rough! Five times, I think. The person below me likes Batman clones better than any B&M built after 2003 (when Stengel stopped designing them)

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

Awesome! It might just be wishful thinking, but that looks more snappy than I expected. Between that, the launch, and the shorter trains, this could very well be the next Banshee. Can't wait to see the loop! -
What is your favorite Roller Coaster?

True. The person below be has legitimately and shamelessly credit-ho'ed a kiddee coaster. With no one but a bunch of kids on it with you.

[NL1] Cmbgo12's Crappy Creations!
tatsu_dude replied to Cmbgo12's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
That looks pretty good. I'm terrible at NL1 and am still waiting for a mac version of NL2 so I can't really give you any tips on the loop, other than to smooth it and make sure it's symmetrical. Also, is there a reason you're using the wrong car texture on the train? I don't know why, but it's really bugging me.
