  1. yolo could be so much better if a. the train didn't take so long to get back to the station from the block brake, or b. they unloaded there. by the time the riders are out of the train, the other is already back. plus, the seat belts that were added and having to wait for the operators to lower the lap bar, extend the time waiting now. Or if it had Xcelerator-esque overbanks after the top hat. Aw well.
  2. I blame the seat belts too, but as long as everyone's safe and feels that they're safe
  3. first let me say, i don't really care if it does or not. when it does, it will be cool. probably more cool seeing it from the parking lot. i'd also believe/hope they will do some syncing on the lift hill, but there's a point when the train leaves so late, i doubt they'd make the other take 2 minutes to go up the second lift. they still need to get close to the 90 second dispatches. and no matter how many they let go because it didn't make it, the ones that do, still need to hit that time window. that there is the issue. so, the issues to me are, employees, lack of employees, and then the general magic mountain crowd that takes their sweet A$$ time. Sounds like a problem that can be solved by loud speakers telling the riders to get on as fast as possible along with a ride operator doing the same I wouldn't mind that. Less wait time, long ride time, and dueling. All only possible if the load times are quick, regardless of the lift hills syncing up. You can't just leave a train stopped at the top for 3 minutes waiting for someone to finish putting their stuff on the side! Time for SFMM to prove themselves and make any of our concerns seem silly! Until 2 months after the ride opens and they stop caring.
  4. If it is only a timed dispatch system, then good luck getting a high-five! If it is a timed dispatch mixed with synchronizing lift hills, then they're doing it right!
  5. ^I'm not saying whether or not they could. It's obviously possible. But so is synchronizing S:EFK with drop of doom. What I'm saying is I want the park to put in the effort to get the synchronization perfect, not just somewhat accurate like some arbitrary dispatch time. I want them to go the extra mile (which is a no brainer for other parks, but tends to not be the case with SFMM) Once again, I'm not questioning if it's possible. I'm suggesting they actually do it. I don't care how.
  6. But will they go through the effort of implementing something like that? That is what I am suggesting they ensure, regardless of how. As a park-goer, I don't care how they do it.
  7. How would that work without someone in control (just wondering)? Really all I'm saying is they need some form of quality control in this regard, whether it involves an operator dedicated to this or not.
  8. Yes, but I still think it will be tough getting the trains perfectly synced up. Even being a few seconds off (a rider putting away a bottle, or a restraint being too loose) means no high-five for you. In that case, my suggestion should be a solution to any possible problem's the station operators may face with load times.
  9. I have a pretty big suggestion for Magic Mountain, I know they'll never read this- but at least I'll voice my concern. Having crew members only in the station being able to consistently load and dispatch trains is one thing, and for the most part I'm sure it'll be getting two trains racing most of the time. But what about getting the trains consistently and perfectly matched up? That's a pretty huge factor that makes the ride much more enjoyable. Simply racing but not being able to high five the other train is like riding a 3D Ride without your glasses on. So I think Magic Mountain should use some form of quality control, like a ride operator in charge of ensuring both trains line up perfectly. It might sound like too much to ask, but I don't think it is. Getting the most out of your attractions will do wonders for the way people view the ride and the park. Especially in this case!
  10. ^wow that doesn't sound too good. I was at Halloween horror nights a couple days ago and I thought it was Ok, but it seems it was better than I thought now that you brought up how six flags' was.
  11. True! And I can't wait to see how cool that zero-g stall is! And the high five element(s)! Goddam.
  12. Ah yes I used to have a friend like that with the dates thing. It's one of the coolest things that comes with some mental illnesses.
  13. The on ride photo for TC should definitely use those Instagram filters. I applaud you, RMC. I have not been this excited for the construction of a ride since the Incredible Hulk.
  14. I have a feeling the bunny hops in the beginning are there to get the riders ready. Sorta like magic mountain saying "this is nothing like you have ever been on before, let alone the original colossus"
  15. No need for the reminder. SFMM is getting an RMC coaster if you haven't heard, which is why RMC is being discussed.
  16. I was born long before Magic Mountain existed, and colossus was the ride that caught my attention and made me want to visit. I'm very excited for this conversion. I hope RMC does this to as many coasters as they possibly can. At the very least simply replacing a ride's track with RMC topper track will be greatly appreciated. Their are many great wooden coasters out there that newer generations are missing out on because of wear and tear.
  17. That show scene wasn't even realistic. How would someone put a wooden coaster on sand within inches of an ocean tide? The wood would rot or giant tides could crack the wood. Well at least it wouldn't be a "parking lot coaster"
  18. Nah how about six flags goes with this guys idea of lining up a bunch of 70 foot trees along the edge of twisted colossus so people that come into the park can't see how awesome it is. Freaking brilliant idea. While we're at it how about we cover Superman's tower with a building? You know, for theming.
  19. I actually hope we CAN'T see it from the parking lot. Why the hell not? Im hoping more theming and scenery is put in place to prevent this coaster from ever again being a "parking lot coaster" Being able to see the most amazing set of elements the park has to offer from the parking lot is a big plus for the ride. Otherwise, how would the gp be excited for it? " it goes upside down now " wouldn't quite be enough as seeing the thing in action. Plus what kind of theming and scenery could possibly be put in place their? Come on man really?
