  1. I'm not sure how they're gonna deal with the missing chunk in the lift hill, if they'll fill it with a wooden or steel replacement. BUT, getting a dumb idea in my head, they could leave it open for a possible keyhole element for a future coaster. Again, a dumb idea, but wouldn't that be neat?
  2. If you think that's big, just wait until the castle is completed.
  3. Wow, a lot of considerate and thoughtful posts in this thread. Let's keep it going. They way I look at success, it's the impact the company made in the business. A lot of people coin Arrow for innovation, but there's been a lot of breakthroughs before and since Arrow's closure. B&M pioneered inverted, flying, floorless, and wing-rider coasters; it's almost impossible to go to a major theme park without seeing/riding one (unless it's Disney). Intamin re-invented the flywheel launch and pushed coasters way beyond their limits; the records for tallest height, tallest drop, fastest speed and most inversions on roller coasters are all held by Intamin. Even S&S is pushing boundaries with their new 4-dimensional model and compressed air launch models (we need more of those in this world). I'd put RMC on here too, but they don't quite have as many coasters built yet as these guys. Schwarzkopf's coasters are classic, but there's not that many left around, and I can't help but feel like I'm gonna get punched in the gut when I ride one of his coasters. I'm a sucker for Morgan, but they're like a one-trick-pony; a good trick, but only one. With that being said, I'd be split between Arrow and B&M. Both have their own wealth of innovations that all the other manufacturers have used and replicated in one way or another (especially Vekoma), and both have a record of good, quality rides (unlike Vekoma). It's a favorite past-time to bash old Arrow coasters for their roughness, but that's why they're rough: they're old. No ride ages well if it's not properly maintained, and sadly, that's what happened with most Arrow coasters. Sure, they ran great the first few years when brand-spankin'-new, but so does any other ride built right. Then again, I've heard the same complaints coming from B&M coasters like Tatsu, Kumba and the Medusa clones, and some of those coasters aren't that old. Finally, you see the Chinese copy a lot of Arrow (and Schwarzkopf) designs; B&M, not so much. Yet again, they may not be able to at the moment; the only people I've seen come close to copying B&M is Giovanola, and they didn't last for long. If you had to twist my arm about it and demanded me to choose between the two, I'd say this: B&M keeps competitors on their toes. Arrow kept competitors scrambling back to the drawing board.
  4. That made-up name is still better than The Tickler. Personally, I think the name Rougarou is cool. Gives it a hint of "exotic" amongst the English-named rides.
  5. ^^ It also wouldn't be 50 ft. higher and 9 mph faster. This is probably much bigger than we thought.
  6. ^ Sounds decent. Then again, wasn't really a fan of the real thing in the first place.
  7. A vegetarian haggis? Is that even possible? Well, staring at all of this delicious food and brews made me hungry. Thanks for the TR!
  8. Well, I wouldn't expect an area of a theme park to look like south-central L.A. on purpose, if that's what they're thinking. But in seriousness, I hope they blow our low expectations out of the water; nothing on Disney or Universal levels, but something above and beyond what Six Flags usually does.
  9. According to Screamscape, a guy who lives next door to it reports no activity being done so far. Apparently they're still working out the financial side of things.
  10. Unlike Six Flags, Cedar Fair doesn't use the same name twice for existing coasters. More than likely they could reuse the Mantis name since it's no longer being used. But didn't they re-use Woodstock Express, Vortex, Demon and Flight Deck quite a few times? Just saying. Anyways, I think they might have another mythical beast name for whatever will be taking SkyRider's place. I think it might be called Ziz, since they already have Behemoth and Leviathan in the park (and that would complete the trio).
  11. "Dude, let's see if we can blow the lid off this thing. We'll all fart at the same time. One giant curry fart." Later on, "Agh, who's stupid idea was this?" And every time he says "Weee!" just to piss off picky Youtube commentators.
  12. About 99% of my Youtube views are from laptop. I check Youtube everyday; if I'm online, I'm either surfing Youtube, checking out forums, or playing games. I don't really share videos through social stuff like Facebook and Twitter, but I tend to show my friends videos I like when they or I come over. As for comments... I tried them once. It was awful. Now I just look and amuse myself, watching the little trolls yell at each other.
  13. Sorta wish I got a ride on Spellcaster when it was up at Legoland. It was the first rollercoaster I ever heard of having an elevator (I was about 9 when it was built). Granted, the really-cool-but-freaky-swinging-arms-of-death ride that replaced it, I wouldn't trade it for anything else. But it would've been cool to catch a ride.
  14. You'll be sitting down, so your crotch will be spared.
  15. ^^^ If Six Flags can have 12 Batmans, I'm sure one more Rougarou won't hurt.
  16. Isn't that why they installed Super Silly Fun Land next to Minion Mayhem? Granted, it still doesn't add much, but it's still something! As for Harrypottyland, it's been planned since 2011, so they're gonna squeeze it in somewhere. And with the Gibson Amphitheater being torn down, that will free up a lot of space for at least something Harrypotty-themed.
  17. I must be in the minority when it comes to the track colors, because I absolutely hate them. Cedar Fair coasters, to me, always had the more vibrant color schemes compared to other parks' coasters, and this just feels like a cop-out. I can see this working well in a Six Flags park (since they have, like, 9 coasters in the chain with the same colors), but... eh, that's my gripe. Nice to see that Mantis is going floorless. Better luck next time, Dorney.
  18. ^ And if they shorten the trains to 4 cars and reduce capacity to one seat, it can be a One-Seat, Four-Car, Flying Purple People Eacter.
  19. So... what a plumber runs into on a daily basis. Seems legit.
  20. It mentions the new "Back Alley" area here. They could hire local street artists to snazzy up the parking lot beneath, lay down a giant mural that ties in with the theme to Back Alley. The parking lot is literally a giant canvas that can really add a lot to the ride if utilized. Of course, this is Magic Mountain we're talking about, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed for a mediocre paint job.
  21. If it were a crap coaster, I wouldn't want my name on it.
  22. I got a little giddy when I saw this vid.
  23. I'd be more excited if it were a ride to celebrate the Rocketeer reboot that's in the works. Peeps flying around on "jetpacks" zooming around Tomorowland, maybe even re-purposing the old Rocket Rods course for some of the segments (like rocketing past Star Tours or a close-call with Autotopia). But I can also imagine an Iron Man spin-off or a possible e-ticket when DLR levels enough of Anaheim for a 3rd gate.
  24. If you're really desperate for credits, you could hit Adventure City (weekdays) or Castle Park (Sunday evening) down here, since the "big guys" sorta suck the crowds away. Knott's also doesn't really get as crowded when it isn't holiday season (October-December). If you're lucky enough and it's raining in SoCal, absolutely GO to Disneyland; tourists hate rain and stay away.
