That's a rumor that hasn't been confirmed, but I am pretty sure it has something to do with Haunt. -

That has been up for a while. I was there on August 1st and saw that, maybe it was there before that. I'm not a Haunt person, I have not been or want to go to Haunt, but I think the display looks cool. Any more updates on that building behind High Roller? IMO it looks fairly temporary. Maybe it's really a greenhouse, I doubt it but it's a possibility. EDIT-- looking back I see the concrete, I just saw those metal beams from high roller and they looked fairly temporary from what I could see. -
^^ Yes, I am new to TPR, sorry if I asked a question that has been asked many times. I read through a few pages before posting to prevent this but I guess I didn't read far enough. ^Wow, an entire building had to be destroyed. Six Flags, is it really that hard to get a permit? 2-3 HOURS for KK, it looks like it might be fun, but I would not wait that long for 20 some seconds of ride. Six flags needs to think a little more before going for these types of things.

Even if you get a Flash Pass (which you should) you should run to Kingda Ka because it won't help you once you're in the station and since the ride has to be ridden in the front seat that could mean a huge wait once you're beyond the merge point. Last time we were there they were only able to run one train between each Zumanjaro cycle which amounts to about 2-3 launches every 10 minutes. Your other option with Kingda Ka is to get in line for it around 9:15 at night. Once Zumanjaro is done running for the night Kingda Ka can finally operate normally so the line will move a little faster. I don't suggest showing up any later than 9:15 because if you do you might not get to sit in the front. If you do decide to break down and ride Kingda Ka in the middle of the day remember to schedule another ride on your Flash Pass as soon as you pass the merge point, that way you can at least be waiting for something else while you're waiting for the front of Kingda Ka. Don't wait to get off of a ride before scheduling another ride. And yes, Nitro's train C is screwed up. Each car of each train has a letter and number on the side of it... if the letter is "C", don't board the train. Let it go empty or find people to go ahead of you. Besides those minor things, operations are very good at this park and you'll have a great time. What does Zumanjaro do to Kingda Ka? I know that Zumanjaro is built on the side of Kingda Ka but why does it bother the operation of KK? The state of New Jersey does not allow Ka and Zumanjaro to be run simultaneously. For every one cycle of the drop ride, 2-3 (2 when I last went) Kingda Ka trains are launched. They are loaded and unloaded while Zumanjaro operates. However, due to the length of the cycles of both rides, capacity is GREATLY reduced on both rides. I waited about 20 mins in Ka's station for row 4 while Ka was running a measly 2 trains. Why would Six Flags build a record-breaking ride on a record-breaking if they can't run at the same time. Isn't Kingda Ka's line normally long with 4 trains constantly running, but now with one or two trains running AND waiting for Zumanjaro to finish it's run. That line must crawl, not only KK's but Zumanjaro's as well. What is the average wait time for both rides now? This sounds like a really big problem but I have no idea how it will get fixed.

No, Americans are made of guts and PopTarts, but when it comes to Zac Spins and other intense thrill rides, we neuter the Heck out of them to make it look more safe and save money with less maintenance needed! Fixed, or at least what I'm perceiving the case to be. This is why trimless rides like Voyage get such high ratings. Sure it tears into itself now and then, but the park's CoasterCats team do an excellent job keeping the ride from tearing into you. Americans are made of guts and Poptarts? I must agree that the best way to destroy a ride experience is to add trim brakes. If you ride High Roller at VF with 2 trains running they trim the ride to almost a complete stop on the 2nd to last turn. If anyone gets out to NU and rides the zipline, could you give a review. I know that someone from the news went and did a report, but I want a review done without NU staring over their shoulder. Does it feel fast?

That's good, S&S Screamin' Swings are some of the best flat rides, but I'm guessing the line is crawling . -

I don't think so since they are basically Geminis trains with upstop wheels (a feature added after it opened since the pads it opened with kept having issues). Aren't Magnum's trains similar to all of Arrow's mine trains (Mine Ride, Excalibur at Valleyfair)? If they are I couldn't imagine Ejector in those. -
Hey Fellow TPR friends, I'm GCI Wooden and my home park is Valleyfair. I don't get out to many parks because of my location in Minnesota, but I hope I can get my coaster count up (it's currently 13). I don't like it when threads are completely serious so I try bring a little humor in to the mix, well still trying to be useful in a conversation. I love twisty coasters, but out and backs are fun if they have lots of airtime . Favorite Coaster: Renegade at Valleyfair

Maybe they are going to call it 325 Furious Bees? -

I'm sure the trains are very complex, but it shouldn't be that difficult to add padding. Maybe they could just duct tape a pillow on every bar . That should take the pain away! -

How bad was this ride? It looks like it would be a fun ride with airtime. Wait, airtime on a stand-up, that must be painful. Great! One less person in line:) Tell all your little friends how terrible B&M is so they won't get in line either! spread the news!!! Yes Everyone B&M is worse than Vekoma (that should shorten a line right!). Tell your friends to tell their friends! Oh, Intamins are terrible too! -

I love those bunny hops and the airtime on that return leg on Magnum. But I do think they could pad the bars a lot better, which would make it even more enjoyable. Magnum looks like a great ride, but if it kills your legs I don't understand why they don't put more padding on the lap bar. If it is known for ejector air, why don't they pad the bar and seats (are the seats padded?)? -
Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
GCI Wooden replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
HOPEFULLY NONE!!! I wouldn't count on it. They're about to get a huge shipment of free spare parts from Canada's Wonderland. That should last them quite awhile. So true...And I think another reason Shockwave has yet to go is because of its specific layout. It does not take up that much room, it is just a fairly small oval shape in a fairly small area. It seems that KD has lots of land that is not being used, I would hope they use that space before knocking anything down. However, when the time comes, taking Shockwave down would open up a large amount of space behind the Eiffel Tower, because they could either design the coaster around the Blue Ridge tollway, or relocate/remove it. -

Thanks, next time I'm at the park I will look for these markers to plan for future expansion! I hope there is a couple more in store for the Route 76 area. -
that's exactly what I've been thinking, with the addition of Barnacle Blast, we've seen that NU really doesn't have room to expand on the ground. And an Intamin Zacspin would fit those requirements, very small footprint, and inverts like we would want a new coaster at NU to do. But also, I think if you removed the Eats section from the park, you have ample space for a Zamperla Air Race. Just my thoughts. I think that the previous GM (Dave Frasier) wanted to put in a Zacspin, not sure what stopped him from doing so. I believe that Insane at Grona Lund costed about $7 million, so it could have been out of the budget. I don't know what the current GM thinks but I hope it's a possibility. If they put in a Zacspin, they should let unbalanced cars go through the course

I can't stress this enough, the height restriction doesn't encompass the entire park. I assumed announcements were usually made in August, but Valleyfair doesn't appear to have any sort of pattern. That is something I don't understand, if the height restriction doesn't encompass the entire park (I'm not arguing that it is or not), why wouldn't they build Power Tower somewhere else? Maybe they did it so they could say that the height was set from an airport, which makes it sound really tall. Free marketing: Courtesy of the FAA! Wait, was this sarcastic or does Cedar Fair actually have a specified color of spray paint just for trash cans? -
Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread
GCI Wooden replied to OzCatter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I haven’t been to WOF, but Timber wolf looks like a lot of fun and I would hate to see it go. The good thing is that I don’t think that it will leave soon, just lots of retracking during the off-season. The only problem with the RMC theory is that Cedar Fair has yet to do business with RMC. However I think Timber wolf would be good testing grounds for Cedar Fair to experiment with RMC. -
Robb, I was wondering if log flumes counted as a coaster credit. I was also wondering do Alpine Slides count?
