  1. Hey guys, I did a little research on the marking, they have coded this marking very well and I am unsure about it's meaning. Next time I am at the park I will look for this marking to see if this might actually be a possibility. Well, I think it is a lamppost. In the construction world, red means electrical, and I found a marking very similar to it in the article below. I know it was from the BBC news site, but maybe there markings are similar to ours. I would be surprised if this was actually it, but maybe. Article: http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-25915468 Any feedback or ideas?
  2. ^ I doubt that it is the train wearing prematurely, but I decided to throw the idea out there to see what others think. It seems that Cedar Fair likes to trim roller coaster for some reason (Magnum, Mean Streak at CP, Thunderhawk at Dorney, Wild Thing, High Roller at Valleyfair etc.). I still find it hard to believe the chain broke. Also, has anyone heard rumors about 2015?
  3. I hope they don't neuter the ride by adding trim brakes. I wonder why no one knows anything, seems pretty strange. Was the failure bad enough that it might scare riders away from it? That's the only reason I can think of as to why they don't say anything. Has anyone checked with the Dippin Dots guy? they know everything.
  4. This picture is GOLD .
  5. it would be awesome if Valleyfair was the CF testing ground for RMC. Could you imagine a GCI and a RMC at the same park? I can dream right? I would want a B&M before another Intamin. Intamin is great but I really want a Wing (if you haven't realized from my previous posts).
  6. ... you wish that turns on roads were banked. ... you keep park maps and look at them frequently to find empty spots were new coasters or flat rides could go.
  7. I haven't heard much speculation for 2015, has anyone seen markers or construction. Has anyone heard anything? All I've heard was Mantis being transformed into a Floorless. Has the park dropped any hints?
  8. ^ I'm sure that CF will do business with Intamin again, Intamin makes some incredible rides that people love. I couldn't see them dropping them completely, just spend some time with B&M.
  9. I have heard that the height restriction doesn't encompass the whole park. Not sure if that's true or not. I wouldn't think that the height restriction would change much judging by the size of the park. Maybe we could get another 25-30 ft if it was designed right. I think we should be getting something where your feet don't touch anything (Wing, invert, floorless) before we get a giga. If we got a giga as our next coaster it should be a Dive .
  10. I would love to see VF get a winged coaster. I've ridden gatekeeper, and in my book they are very fun and thrilling. I think 2016 brings either a B&M invert, winged, or giga. At this point I'll take any new coaster VF adds!! I will welcome any new coaster 2016 holds as long as it's not Vekoma. I would prefer a wing coaster over a giga or invert, but I would complain. After our next major thrilling coaster, I think a S&S Freefly would be awesome. That is a family coaster, something we really don't need right now.
  11. Another thing about Six Flags parks ranking high is that on their website they have a link to vote for them on every page of their website, so anyone that goes on their website knows about it, all CP did was post it a couple times on Facebook and Twitter. The link brings you to a page where you don't see the other options. I think it should be Disney, Dollywood, and Silver Dollar City. Looking at the poll again Silver Dollar City isn't even on there as an option.
  12. Cedar point is voted best amusement park in the world by Amusement today's Golden ticket awards. Also if you look at the USA Today poll, it's for the best theme park. Cedar point is an amusement park NOT a theme park. Cedar Fair doesn't theme a lot, and when they do it turns into Disaster Transport. Cedar Point is still in the position of best amusement park however they have lost the most coasters in one park to SFMM.
  13. ...if you ride kiddie coasters to get your coaster count up. ...when people say RC Car you think roller coaster car, not remote control. ...when you cringe when you hear Vekoma. ...when you can tell what company made the ride by looking only at the restraints.
  14. I went on a Wednesday Thursday and Friday, not a weekend. Sorry, I looked at an August calender, I feel really stupid right now.
  15. ^ I really like the name Steel Venom. I don't know why.
  16. I am unsure about size, this may seem pretty unrealistic but MAYBE they could design one to fit this into the small space. S&S Freefly. These are extremely unique family coasters and if they could build one I am sure it would be a hit. The only thing that I'm worried about is space, these don't look very compact. I doubt it would happen because of that but those look like something the whole family would love. Maybe they could fly by the 4th floor restaurant to make them want to ride. It sounds amazing, almost too good to be true. Any feedback as to how/if this is possible would be good. Just an idea. Also, Avatar Airbender opened on the same day as RBP, I agree we need something family but I cringe when I hear Vekoma
  17. Am I the only one that really wants a wing coaster? It seems to me that nobody wants one. I think that an invert would be fun, but I like the wing coaster because I heard that each side is like a different ride. I love the look of the wing and it would give VF wonderful curb appeal. About SV, maybe if the brake is wearing out they could replace the straight spike with a twisty spike, like Wicked twister at CP. I think that would be more fun than a straight spike that reminds you "Hey, something used to happen here. Something's missing.".
  18. Valleyfair 2015- Burn the water park and replace it with the worlds tallest woodie, designed by GCI 2016- Burn Dinosaurs Alive and replace it with a dueling coaster. Wing coaster dueling an invert. 2017- Burn the amphitheater and bring Chaos back. Add 47 Trash Cans. 2018- Burn Flying Cloud Airport, put in a strata-coaster. 2019- Burn Looping Starship, put Giant Frisbee in it's place. RMC Excalibur, Add an entire new RMC wooden with inversions.
  19. Hey guys, I read the August 5th Financial Realease for Cedar Fair. It said "One of the things I am personally most excited about when it comes to our future is the organic growth opportunities that exist at our core properties. Most notably in the near term is the re-launch of our Carowinds regional brand in 2015, which will be anchored by a new record-breaking attraction". What could this record be? Height, Inversions, Speed? Let the speculation CONTINUE!!
  20. ^ How did you walk on to WT on a July weekend? I don't understand why the Space Shot always has less of a line than the other. I think I like both of them equally. Great Report.
  21. No problem, I wish I could reveal more but lets just say the rumor I heard, and according to my source has been confirmed, will make you happy! Unfortunaly we won't hear about it officially until sometime next year. When it is safe to do so i'll certainly let everyone know what I've learned. Matt Ouimet, Cedar Fair CEO, stated in the August 5th Cedar Fair financial release that all the new park addtions will be announced soon including a record breaking attraction at Carowinds. I think the next couple of years will be Valleyfairs turn! Let's keep the speculation up! I read that report and it said that the parks will be making announcements over the next several months . Maybe we wont get our announcement as soon as we thought.
  22. It doesn't seem right that a chain broke already. It has been operating for about 6 months and these chains are are extremely large. It doesn't have me convinced. It will be fun to find out what really happened.
  23. That's a rumor that hasn't been confirmed, but I am pretty sure it has something to do with Haunt. It pretty much has been confirmed. VF has filed building permits to build the structure, have fire sprinklers and running water plus sewage to the building with the permits having London Terror Building as a description. Putting all that effort and money means it is probably a permanent Haunt building. You can find that here by using Valleyfair Drive as the road in the drop down menu and then hit search. https://epermits2.logis.org/search.aspx?city=sh I looked at this site and I found that they have a Sewer/Water permit issued on 8/4/14 for the London Terror. I am now convinced it is permanent.
  24. That's sad, those two rides are really fun and Jimmy Neutron is very rare, and Danny Phantom is a good ride to take a break on, it's also really fun to wave to people in the restaurant on the 4th floor. If they do have to go, I'm sure NU can do better than Vekoma. If they took out both maybe there might be room for a custom Zacspin, I haven't actually riden a Zacspin so I am unsure about size lengthwise. I am sure that intamin could create a layout that would fit.
