  1. Did you guys realize what the reaper said to the person in the station? He said "Ever wonder why you're not supposed to stand up on Mantis?". Wonder what this means...
  2. To me, the only ride that would beat Gatekeeper is Maverick. Millennium Force has lots of straight track and Top Thrill is about 20 seconds long. MF only has the first drop and maybe the first over bank that are considered intense, and Top Thrill looks like it would be a great ride if it wasn't only seventeen seconds long.
  3. Overrated by who? Gatekeeper doesn't have a fan club. Most people think it's a bit boring on this forum. Gatekeeper isn't that popular among coaster enthusiasts, but I'm sure the GP love it. Gatekeeper is hyped mainly along the GP, I would think, because EVERYONE on this forum says it's boring. To me, Gatekeeper looks like a fun ride, but I don't think it is the best coaster in the park. I think the best part of Gatekeeper is how it looks. I have never been to CP so I wouldn't know what it's like.
  4. ^^I thought that GM Dave said that they won't be removing rides.
  5. Six Flags' customer service! What's worse than a hyper vekoma SLC?
  6. Beat me to it. I guess that proves us all wrong, Mantis isn't getting floorless trains, it's moving to a new park! You gotta love Tony.
  7. This is a winner from the carowinds thread "It will be nice seeing Fury 325 open and have a new world record holder for tallest un-launched coaster. This by itself may drive down attendance in Nagashima Spa Land where the current record holder resides (Steel Dragon 2000); however next year Nagashima Spa Land will also be getting a new B&M (it's first in fact) named Acrobat. Perhaps they got wind of the Fury 325 plans and did this to offset the inevitable loss in attendance from not having that record anymore. Looks like a near-exact copy of Manta." They also say that Fury is identical to Intimidator
  8. Several might but definitely not all. CA Screamin has none, neither does Xcelerator, Kingda Ka, El Toro, Intimidator 305, Volcano (even though Wicked Twister is 6'6" and they are the same ride vehicles), Goliath at Wabili World, Expedition GeForce... the list goes on. And for whatever reason, Bizarro at SFNE and Ride of Steel at Darien Lake have a 6'4" limit instead of 6'6". As far as I know, when they opened as Superman, neither had a max limit. I believe that Kingda Ka has a height limit of 6'5''.
  9. BATMAN™: The Ride — A New Coaster Concept Premiering at Six Flags Fiesta Texas Summer 2015 4D Wing Coaster Innovation is the Most Exciting Thrill Ride in the Park’s History Six Flags Fiesta Texas today unveiled plans to debut the most exciting coaster in the park’s 22-year history — BATMAN™: The Ride, premiering in 2015. After being lifted straight up a 120-foot hill, this 4D Wing Coaster challenges riders to “face their fears” as they flip head-over-heels at least six times along the weightless, tumbling journey. Along the way on this 4th dimension free-fly coaster, thrill seekers experience exhilarating coaster hills and unexpected drops along with an interactive ride experience. BATMAN™: The Ride allows adrenaline seekers to soar outside the confines of the track and fly like Batman. “Every year we continue to provide more and more innovative technology and excitement for our park guests and season pass holders. BATMAN™: The Ride is an entirely new concept in ride engineering and will provide a sensory experience like no other coaster. The unanticipated tumbling will add even more thrills as riders travel along the dipping and swirling track,” said park president Martin Bozer. BATMAN™: The Ride features a massive, imposing, floating and twisting track frame, in which ride vehicles begin their journey by traveling up a 120-foot elevator-type lift before being released for their highly unusual sensory journey…including two beyond-vertical free falls, in addition to the six head-over-heels spins. Not only is BATMAN™: The Ride the most exciting thrill ride in Six Flags Fiesta Texas history, it is currently not available anywhere else on the planet. This attraction, based on the comic, will offer a total immersion into the Batman storyline with numerous special effects including the world-famous Batmobile and Bat-Signal. The unique construction of BATMAN™: The Ride features: The world’s first, one-of-a-kind onboard magnetic technology featuring six smooth head-over-heels free-fly flips providing guests the feeling of weightlessness as they soar outside the confines of a traditional track; A 4D wing coaster that seats up to eight and has riders “face their fears” by allowing them to physically face each other as they tumble head-over-heels; A 120-foot tall hill that is ascended by an elevator-style lift straight up; Two beyond 90-degree raven drops giving the sensation of free-falling; Five vehicles with eight passengers each; A Bruce Wayne/Batman theme throughout the queue line featuring the Batmobile and Bat-Signal.
  10. I don't think that Carowinds has any effect on attendance for a park in Japan...
  11. Do you have to be a Club TPR Member to email for a bog of crap? I searched but couldn't find anything. I really want a bag of crap.
  12. I'm pretty sure I saw a queue area when I was on the High Roller. Other than that, it still looks a lot like a tent.
  13. How are dispatch times on Mantis? Would Floorless trains increase capacity? I know that floorless coasters have to have the floor go down, but I am pretty sure that some people would require operator assistance on a stand-up because they aren't used to the restraining system. Could floorless trains mean shorter lines?
  14. Granted, that means no air, no coasters, no water, no food, no house, no cars, no donkeys, no cats, no plants, no Earth, no you. I wish I had Maverick in my backyard.
  15. In line for Scrambler. "Don't go on this ride, it scrambles your brain into guacamole!"
  16. Yesterday on the high roller, I saw queue lines near the tent. I think this is definitely a haunt structure.
  17. I'm happy they opened the other side again, I wish they would point the webcam to show if it has riders or not.
  18. Flooding usually affects the Excalibur/thunder canyon/ Renegade area of the park, but the rest of the park isn't usually effected by it.
  19. VF15, I was wondering the same thing when I saw that VF was open until November. I looked at average temperatures for Shakopee, and this is what I found. November 2nd- Average high 51 degrees. April 1st- average high 52 degrees. I think that they stay closed until May is that snow takes a long time to melt. I've had snow in my front yard in early June before, so maybe they don't want snowy coaster? I don't think that snow does anything to a coaster other than make it a very cold ride. I think that a snow coaster ride would be fun, I mean seriously , that looks awesome.
  20. a stand-up Boomerang, which caused people to...
  21. On the website it doesn't say fast lane pass, it just says fast lane.
  22. I was looking at different inverts and these are some of them with the cost at the time and the cost adjusted to inflation. Great Bear @ Hersheypark- $13 million, adjusted is 19 million Talon @ Dorney- $13 million, adjusted is 17 million Patriot- 14 million, adjusted is 16 million Raptor @ Cedar Point- 12 million, adjusted is 19 million. Bnshee @ Kings Island- 24 million Ok, I don't think we are getting a Banshee sized invert, but there are many great inverts in the 16-19 million range. That isn't to much for a growth park is it?
  23. If anyone wants to watch the announcement live it is at 11:00 AM Eastern (10:00 AM Central). Here is the link, https://www.carowinds.com/what-s-new/2015-announcement- If VF is put into the same group of growth as this place, the water park expansion is going to be huge, and I wouldn't expect anything but a top-notch coaster for 2016 or 2017. The cost of the new Carowinds coaster is probably going to be in the 25-30 million dollar range, could VF get a 15-23 million coaster in the near future?
  24. The live stream has a band playing currently.
  25. Probably. There will be many people asking when the announcement is and then many people will answer them, and then more people will ask when it is... By the way, only 1 hour and 27 minutes until announcement! Who is going to be watching the live video? About the time of the announcement, there is a countdown clock on Carowinds website.
