Knoebels Discussion Thread
strz replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
To be fair- it was one of the first parks in the country to get one...... -
If Great Adventure was a Cedar Fair park then we wouldn't be able to ride Nitro when it's 29 degrees and windy in January so Cedar Fair can go screw. If they keep letting us do that then I don't care if they re-name every coaster in the park "Batman's Takis Adventure The Ride" sponsored by the Jersey Boys and throw cheap props and Takis ads everywhere in the park.

Boldikus- enough of you defending of Zumi, and get focused on pulling together our tally of votes! (Please don't take me seriously!) That said- I didn't realize that Zumi was as well-liked as ranked on our posts......I like it, but also agree that there is no "oh sh@?" moment as you'd expect, but so be it! My first time on it was awesome BTW.....I couldn't believe how high up,we were, and remember feeling what was a "pause" before one more quick push to the top! That said- I love taking "first timers" on it!

That One Ride You Just Can't Enjoy...
strz replied to HAZE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I get where you are coming from.....although the rest of my family/the world doesn't! -
Assuming everything was equal. meaning lines, wait times, and not taking into consideration if the rides are located near each other or not, here would be my choice in ride preferences....I tiered my list from "Every Visit" to "If I Have the Time" to "If I Must" Every Visit If I Could: 1. Nitro 2. El Toro 3. Zumanjaro 4. Kingda Ka 5. Batman- The Ride 6. Dare Devil Dive (yeah, yeah, yeah- I get it, it's an upcharge!) 7. Bizarro If I Have the Time: 8. SkyScreamer 9. Skull Mountain 10. Saw Mill Log Flume 11. Congo Rapids 12. The Dark Knight Coaster 13. Runaway Mine Train 14. Houdini's Great Escape 15. Parachute Training Center: Edwards AFB (had to make sure I got the full name so that there'd be no confusion on anyone's part!) 16. Skyway If I Must: 17. Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train 18. Buccaneer 19. Superman- Ultimate Flight 20. Green Lantern 21. All Other Rides (if it is not list here, that means I didn't go on it in 2015!)

You might be on to something! *wink wink* But I wouldn't expect Blackbeard. That thing saddles more than anything. As for Old Country, as much as I would love an RMC of any kind, and a dueling T-Rex would be absolutely insane, I'm not too sure an RMC is coming very soon. There will definitely be some renovations coming to that area in the next few years. Personally I would love to see a Justice League: Battle For Metropolis built in the 4D Theater's old spot in the boardwalk, as a great dark ride would make the park feel complete (and be another indoor ride for HiTP)! 2017 feels too soon for another coaster, but who knows! For some reason I also feel that 2017 is going to be a very big year, then again I thought 2016 was going to be a big year too. Not saying I don't want total mayhem, just thought we would've gotten something else. Cool- you are in my camp! Just come out and say it- Total Mayhem is a disappointment! We are selfish and think that we deserve another game changer like El Toro and Kingda Ka were!!!!

^^^^^^^^-------------about Old County/major coaster installation in this section of the park....... "It is what it is!"- however, something like Total Mayhem doesn't do it for me this year (I've been bashed for this attitude earlier on this thread- so no need to do it again! ) That said- I'm very anxious for a major installation at SFGA, as I LOVE IT when my hometown park got the likes of a Kingda Ka and an El Toro! Can they afford a major investment for a major coaster? Does it make biz sense in this day in age? Who knows/got me! Bottom line- I'd love to see it!!!!! Love the speculation BTW! Looking forward to more comments from you guys!

The Official TPR Video Thread!
strz replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Good to hear as I had the "pleasure" of having (2) TOGO's at my home park of SFGA back in the day! Oh my!!!! That said- the footprint/station is now home to one of the best woodies in the country! Ultra Twister: http://www.greatadventurehistory.com/UltraTwister.htm Viper: http://www.greatadventurehistory.com/Viper.htm That said- I give credit to SFGA for being a major risk taker on ride concepts back in the day.......
