Sunday, July 5th ETR was terrific! I parked around 9:30am, waited about a minute for my wristband....and no line for security! BATMAN (ie- NAMTAB) was a great ride! Walked right on- sat in the first row......man does it pack a punch backwards! Smooth, smooth, smooth! I was "one and done"....as my body wasn't 100% this morning- and that was all I could tolerate! First row on Nitro (no wait)....headed to the bumper cars- waited, and waited.....and walked away, as it was a hot mess with the people driving, empty cars, lousy job, etc. Skyscreamer was a walk on.....hit El Toro at 10:30am (walk on, 1st row), then Zumanjaro (walk on)......Parachute? Sure....never ride it/walk on. Got our "free" snack and lunch.....hit the road at 11:45am.

Trip Report: Coasters and Culture in Virginia/DC
strz replied to bert425's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Too funny! -
Great topic...... My two cents would be that it could be possible to combine the speed, height and looping elements into one coaster, however: - cost probably hinders this - people like the appeal of loops, twists and turns.....many others don't - those who like the appeal of loops, twists and turns most likely enjoy speed and heights - others like speed and heights, but can do without loops, twists and turns..... - With that, why bother blending the two? Personally- I will ride any coaster, but prefer speed and heights vs. loops, etc. My local park is SFGA....and can do without things like Green Lantern, Superman, etc.....but would go on Nitro and El Toro all day. Combining "the best of both" doesn't appeal to me personally.

Some further details on that Madhouse.....for those who maybe interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madhouse_(ride)

The best way to describe it: - you sit on what is essentially a 30 seat (left to right) "Pirate Ship" ride....that rocks back and forth - this "Pirate Ship" type ride is enclosed by a cylinder, which rotates around you, while your are rocking back and forth - when both affects are in motion/going in the opposite direction...combined with sound effects, darkness, illusions.....it makes for a fun ride! Better yet- are those who seemed totally freaked out by the "illusion".....yet can't comprehend that there are no major restraints/seat belts for a reason!

Well why haven't they fixed it. its been broke almost the whole season. They are being cheap. They are not fixing it. Maybe, just maybe they are waiting on parts. The local SkyRide parts store was out of what SFGAdv needed. Love it! Yes- one of my favorite places to shop.....the local SkyRide parts store!!!!!
