I'm one of those idiots......nice addition to my local park, but it isn't my style/dissappointed that this is coming as the "big addition" to SFGA....so there! I'm sorry, but how does your logic explain that this isn't a "big addition?" And don't try to tell me that it's because it's a "clone" because I'll just throw Batman right back in your face. And don't try to tell me it's because it's a "short ride" because then I'll just throw Zumanjaro right back in your face. You are welcome to your own opinion, but so am I. And in my opinion, people who are complaining about this are self-entitled, obnoxious, stupid coaster enthusiasts that I wish weren't part of our community. Ughhh.....I enjoy the sight and the commentary...."I wish weren't part of our community" hurts! Simply put- I have had a season pass each year since the early 80s....and: - love coasters with height and speed vs. inversions - wish we would invest in bottles of Weed-b-Gon to make the park look better! - hate to see SFGA invest capital, only to see it rot away years later (ie- Golden Kingdom, etc.) Bottom line- if the GP likes it, awsome! Again- just something that won't interest me when I am there....as I love the Nitros of the world instead. That's all for now!

Aww man, you guys got lucky. Whenever I get the last train of the night on Kingda Ka (which actually happens a lot lol ) I always start a "one more ride!" chant but the ops never do it . And to think I was deciding whether or not it was worth it to go that to Gadv that day Many NJ schools started school today.....so you picked a great night!

It's not so much the ride for me. It's the location. Wasting the wonderful lakefront for a ride they could really make room for anywhere else, and then save lakefront for a flagship style ride. THIS I fully agree! I'm not trying to come across as a local "spoiled brat" who needs $20M+ rides year after year (though that would be just fine by me!).......however- if SFGA is tearing down so much/adding to a focal area like this, it better be "big" in my opinion!

So no clues, leaks, etc. and "change the skyline of an untouched area of the park" has me believing that a "game changer" is coming to the park (in the same category as a Nitro and El Toro).....that said: - I understand why many have stated that there is no way another $20M+ ride is getting built, as that is no longer the business model (so we think) - I also understand those who have stated that "we" haven't gotten a major new addition in what seems like forever (and I agree with those who say that the parking lot stand up doesn't count) My two cents on all of this...... - a 4-D ride (yup, I said ride not roller coaster) would be a letdown (spinning, looping, etc. doesn't do it for me) - a version of "Lighting Run" seems too small for a park this size - some sort of significant/unique launch coaster or 300+ feet coaster is what would make me - lastly, I remember all the speculation for rides like El Toro (not enough room in that section of the park), Kingda Ka (no way SFGA would spend the $$$$), and look what happened We'll find out soon enough......

Playland's Castaway Cove Discussion Thread

Look at you getting a "headline" on the home page! Nice post and thanks for sharing! -
IMO, go as follows: 1) Kingda Ka, 2) Zuma, 3) El Toro, 4) Bizarro.....then boogie over to 5) Batman, 6) Nitro, 7) Skull Mountain. At that point- you've got your money's worth....have at it as you see fit! Keeping in mind that bashing my head on a stand-up, along with the Superman ain't my cup of tea! Have fun!

Enjoy! I've lived my (whole) life no more than 1/2 hour from the park, thus know it like the back of my hand! All and all, I guess I'm fortunate, however- like many others, wish for many improvements. That said- I'm hoping you will share your comments on this post (Good, Bad, and Ugly!), so I get some perspective of what someone "new" at the park sees.

Bottom line: - maximize the park opening time and get on the following by 1pm, in this order: Kingda Ka, Zumajaro, El Toro, Bizarro, Batman, Nitro (yup, I get it that after Bizarro I'm telling you to hustle all the way to the other side of the park, but do it!) - many will tell you "go on Superman and Green Lantern first thing, because the wait times get crazy later in the day!"......don't do it- as wait or no wait, they are both underwhelming coasters! - past the "Super Six" mentioned above, the balance of the park/rides to go on/what you should do.....should be your personal preference....as you'll be in the peak of the day with big crowds/big lines Enjoy!
