I just don't understand how people aren't excited about any new coaster being added, let alone one that's rare at this point. Only one has been built so far, just confused here I am excited a new coaster is being built simply to take the heat off the rides I love at the park. In general I think its an ugly ride and a wasted opportunity to put something spectacular on the lakefront. That doesn't mean the ride won't be a hit and the GP will most definitely eat this thing up. Also I haven't ridden the SFFT installation so I have no opinion of the ride experience but it *looks* like puke machine to me. I might be wrong, and I will definitely try it once, and maybe I'll love it. Never judge a ride til you ride it. Ditto my friend! Call it what it is- a carnival ride!

On one hand, I'm glad that it is SF "leading the way" with giving this a shot- is it for me? Probably not....but neither is the carnival ride on the lake that's under construction (damn I said it again!) That said- because it is SF leading the way...out come the bashers! - If it were Disney who made this announcement today, then XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO - CP- same thing! - SF- "this is stupid, it will slow down lines," etc.......

You bet! Early 90's were my "post-college" days.....and my passion to going to SFGA was gone at that point of my life. That said- Batman blew me away, and (I think) that this "new level" of coaster got my enthusiasm back in gear, as did GASM when we got that. I was blown away on Batman when I went on it backwards this past year, and like you- was blown away during Holiday in the Park....how the hell this was build in '93 and is still a relevant coaster, blows my mind away!

"Showing my age........." Those 90's commercials aren't so bad! Especially as I think Batman is still a GREAT coaster- so hard to believe it is that old! 2005 is cool- too bad they chose not to maintain that area of the park....as when it opened, it was terrific! Thanks for posting these old commercials!

Six Flags better be careful, or someone is going to climb over those fences, then climb up the pile of gravel, and get hurt. . . Of course then they will try to sue the park because the fences are not tall enough. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^---------------I can't believe you guys missed the announcement!!!!! SFGA is killing two birds with one stone..................... The goal....................... Drive attendance and fix the parking lot all in one shot! How.................... Free parking if you agree to take a bucket of gravel to your parking spot, and fill in the adjacent pothole!!!!

Mission accomplished! Some good banter about our park! I'm totally aligned with you guys that the park continues to get better and better...... That said, I'm a spoiled b%^#h who "only" likes speed and heights- so I keep waiting for the next Kingda Ka and El Toro to get installed.....anything less is a "disappointment!" (the best analogy I can provide is like my sports teams- I always want the biggest and best Free Agent out there signed to my team; anything less is a "disappointment!" Good stuff as always!

I dubbed this part the "OHHOLYCRAPWE'RESTILLSTEPUPUNDERFLIPPINGATHOUSANDTIMES!" element in Texas. RMC is making the track, correct? RMC makes the track, S&S does pretty much everything else. Hope I'm wrong......but I don't see this as something I'll be interested in riding over and over again. I still haven't gone on last year's "looping coaster" BTW.....

I don't remember Chiller being painted in 2007. I know it was repainted around 2002 with the darker track and support colors, but am not remembering a 2007 repaint. I'm pretty sure they repainted Chiller in 2005. At the time, I don't think the park thought either of the two rides would be leaving anytime soon. This is accurate- 2005 was when Chiller was repainted. The modification of the tracks took place in 2007....it didn't help the issues, sat dormant that summer, then was taken down.
