The location of a ride is really what makes it special. I know you're a little upset that updates will be infrequent soon, but that's just the way things are. Yup, just like the Valley Market. The Boardwalk is always expanding, and this relocation should be beneficial. ---- May 1981 Mike Spencer, Park Manager Hello there! My name is Mike Spencer, the new manager of Topaz Park. I am so excited to be working at this great park, let alone be the manager of it. For my first year, Craig will have to supervise me, in order for him to know that I'm doing everything right. Opening day of the park is tomorrow, so I will give you a behind the scenes tour of Topaz Park. You have all seen Skydive from the ground, but have you ever seen it from above! Charles Moore, the maintenance manager of Topaz Park, took these pictures from the maintenance platform. As you can see, we have added a flag on top of the tower. The views you get from up here is stunning. Our maintenance crew here at the park must be very brave! It's a long way up and a long way down. Back on the ground, you can see our new Forest Market, a place for local businesses to show off their products. There are currently five booths, with more room for expansion on the sides. These two booths on the left are the Candy Corner, a candy shop, and Ultimate Shirt Stop, a chain of shirt shops. This is our very own Deli USA, which is a tribute to our old Buffet USA. Fresh hot sandwiches and meats are all in this booth. These two booths are a toy shop and Pin Point, selling pins and keychains. Our merry-go-round would not start up at all. The maintenance crew here at Topaz Park has no idea what's going on. I would hate to see it closed tomorrow. Over in the Boardwalk, you can see our relocated ferris wheel. The new location fits the Boardwalk well and provides better views. Guess what? Our park is now partnered with Provo's Hive, a honey company based in Provo. Guests can now enjoy honey slush, honey glazed fries, and honey ice cream. These items may be a bit more expensive, but it's worth is.

Skydive's paint scheme is actually Utah's state colors, black and yellow. It's the little things that help make things amazing. This update is the announcement update, so you'll see some new things. ---- November 1980 Craig Spencer, Park Manager Well, another year has gone by with rather disappointing results. Attendance dropped 3% from last year, despite the addition of Ocean. Today, I'm announcing a statewide advertising campaign, which will include ads in newspapers and local television stations. In turn, this will increase attendance at Topaz Park, and therefore be more profitable. I will also be stepping down as park manager after nearly a decade. This will allow me to be the owner of my own company, Spencer Properties. I declare my little brother, Mike Spencer, to be the new manager of Topaz Park. We have hired Adalberto Nicodemo, a local artist, to paint our concept art photos. This is concept art for our new Forest Market, a place for local businesses to show off their products. Businesses will be able to lease a booth for an entire season. After that, they may choose to renew the lease or not. Businesses will get 75% of their profits while Topaz Park will get 25% of their profits. The Forest Market will occupy the space once held by Buffet USA. Our ferris wheel will be relocated to the Boardwalk area. While the old location didn't give much of a view, this new location will be pointing towards Lake Topaz. The view is better and this ride really fits in with the Boardwalk. The space once held by the ferris wheel will now be a place for the Salt Lake Nursery to show off their beautiful topiaries. This area will allow our guests to rest rather nicely. ---- Author's Note On Thursday, August 14, I will be going to Knott's Berry Farm along with my family. Because of this, I will be unable to post park updates during this time. After this, school will start on Monday, August 25. From that date, don't expect to see too many updates.

Thanks for the comment! I have to agree that the park looks nice at night. Now, about Topaz Whip and Rotor. According to Wikipedia, With a ride called Topaz Whip, you would expect a dangerous ride. The first thing I think of when I hear the word "whip" is pain. Rotor doesn't ring a bell for amusement park noobs. So yeah. ---- August 1980 Craig Spencer, Park Manager. Hello there. This is Craig Spencer, manager of Topaz Park. Today was my day off, so I decided to walk around the park once more. It was a beautiful August day, perfect for walking around. Ah, good old Skydive. You can see the tower from anywhere in the park. Unfortunately, there were no parachutes rising. Where are all the people? On the left is where Buffet USA used to stand. I have something planned for this area, and I think the general public will love it. Topaz Park really needs more toilet facilities! This facility is always overcrowded. Twisted Beehive was a walk on today. Of course, it's quite disappointing. I really need to do something about it. Perhaps we need more marketing... At least people are buying food! Personally, these burgers are not the best, but it's good enough for the price. This was the line for Ocean. No one was willing to go on. Perhaps the ride is too intense for some people... At this point, we really need more people to come to our park. Come November, I will reveal my plans for next year. Topaz Park is a really lovely park, and I don't want it to close down.

(RCT3) Aria Lake CANCELLED

I know you're eager to show your park off, but I feel like you're making way too many updates in a short amount of time. I don't feel any story progression, and I think double posting within 24 hours is against the rules. How about you actually create a story? What makes this park special? And please don't post more updates than you need to. Try listening to other people's feedback. Please don't take me the wrong way. -
This is pretty much the north section of the Las Vegas Strip.

(RCT3) Aria Lake CANCELLED
YoshiCraft2011 replied to AriaAus101's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Just asking, but when is this park taking place? -
There will be no dark ride. However, a new restaurant will occupy the space, though it will not use the same building. Unfortunately, I already demolished the building before writing the last update. However, Topaz management will make good use of that land. With Ocean, I already plotted down the ride space before building the ride. But I like this position. ---- June 1980 Herbert Jere, Student My name is Herbert Jere, a student at the University of Utah. It was spring break, and my friends wanted me to visit this place called Toapz Park. I have heard of this park before, but I never had the chance to visit the park until now. My camera is not the best, so bear with me. By the time I arrived at Topaz Park, it was already dark. The park closes at midnight, so I had some time to ride on some of the rides. I love this ride! It's called the Rotor. Basically, the inside spins around. When the platform drops, you're sticking on the wall. Awesome. The Topaz Whip sounded dangerous. However, it's just a ride that circles you around. This is not a good ride. This was the entrance to the Elk or something like that. It's a fun ride with a nice loop. I like it! This was the Twisted Beehive. It's a great wooden roller coaster with lots of turns and drops. I even hopped out of my seat a few times! The parachutes seemed like a nice ride, but all it provides is good views. I want thrills, not views! My map had an advertisement for this Ocean ride, which is isolated from the rest of the park. Let's just say that I lost my dinner after riding. Overall, I had an enjoyable time at Topaz Park. Is the one hour drive worth it? Maybe. I wish there were more thrill rides, but other than that, this is a great park. I decided to buy this postcard from the souvenir shop, which was just hidden behind the trees.

November 1979 Charles Moore, Maintenance Manager Hi! I am Charles Moore, the maintenance manager at Topaz Park. I've been working at the park for nearly nine years now. Today, I am ready to reveal the new ride for the new decade. Ocean: The Ride The new ride for 1980 is Ocean, a Huss Enterprise. This is certainly not the first Enterprise, but it is the most thrilling ride our park has acquired. Sixteen gondolas are placed around a large, metal circle. The circle is then raised and spun around. This results in the rider being spun around upside down. It's a very fun ride, but don't eat before riding. In other park news, Buffet USA will be gone by next year. It was meant to be a nice little restaurant that opened during the bi-centennial of America. However, few guests have eaten here and it's been making losses since day one. Craig is trying to find out what can be occupied in this space. I'm pretty sure that no one will miss the restaurant, but for the few who do, let's say goodbye.

Custom flat rides (CFR) are different from custom scenery (CS), if that's what you are talking about. Generally, installation of a CFR requires you to drag the folder containing the ride into the "custom" folder in the "style" folder. -
It's not a swinging ship. But you know what's next. ----- The Salt Lake Times Sunday, August 5, 1979 Fun in Utah - Topaz Park TOPAZ, UTAH - Are your children bored? Do they want to go somewhere different? Some of us at The Salt Lake Times took some time yesterday visiting Topaz Park. Opened in 1961, this park seemed like an excellent park for families near the Salt Lake City area. Tickets are just around $15 for adults and $10 for children under 13. It's just an hour away from Salt Lake City. This park has two roller coasters that are both very thrilling. One is a wooden one that will make you bounce and shout. The other one is a looping coaster where you literally hang upside down. Topaz Park also has some other rides, like a parachute drop that gives you panoramic views, a go-kart track so you can race with friends and foes, and a trampoline where you can bounce up high. Topaz Park is not just about the rides, though. It's the overall atmosphere. The park has partnered up with the Salt Lake Nursery to make the park look nice by adding fencing, trees, and plants. We thought that they did a good job. There's also a little Boardwalk area on the artificial Lake Topaz. This section has games and theming, but there's not much to it. Overall, Topaz Park is a nice little amusement park. It's a small park, yes, but it's a small park that will leave a smile.

Are you talking about the "Custom" folder? If there isn't one, just make one! -
June 1979 Craig Spencer, Park Manager Hello. This is Craig again, manager of Topaz Park. Last month, our season began with the opening of the Boardwalk restaurants as well as the new, re-configured Beehive, now known as Twisted Beehive. Look at that drop! The new Twisted Beehive has more drops, is faster, and is more intense, while still having a similar track layout. But is the investment worth it? The coaster only runs on one train and is generally a walk-on. It looks like our Alpine Cafe is drawing in the crowds! Guests are boarding The Rocky Mountain Elk. This was, hands down, the best decision in park history. Over in the Boardwalk, you can see the Boardwalk Eats, where you can eat a tasty burger and drink an ice-cold Coca-Cola. Who put that sign over there?! Oh well. Here's a sneak peek of one of our next rides.

While it is usually best to read the Readme file if it comes with one, downloading custom content in RCT3 is very easy. Custom supports (like Moby's Steel Jungle) are items called Csutom Scenery, or CS. Simply go to C:\\Program Files (x86)\Atari\RollerCoaster Tycoon 3\Style\Themed\. Then, simply drag the CS set you downloaded into this directory. It's as simple as that! Custom tracked rides (CTR) and custom flat rides (CFR) work differently. Just make sure that you refer to the Readme file included with your custom content. -
Well, this is what you get when you invest in four roller coasters at the beginning. On a more serious note, though, I hope that the park finds a new owner, especially since it looks great. In fact, I'm certain that a new owner will be found because you can't end a park this early, right? *cough* Topaz *cough*

[PC/RCT3] Valley Hills
YoshiCraft2011 replied to JonnyRCT3's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Bingo! I'm certain that the new coaster will be a B&M flying coaster. There were rumors that either Vekoma or Zamperla were going to build a coaster. Both companies make flying coasters. In the post, however, it said that the company was a European one close to home. There is a B&M invert at Valley Hills, and B&M is European. They also make flying coasters. That's some compelling evidence! -

It's a European manufacturer that's close to home, so it has to be a B&M. It could be a Giga coaster. It could also be a flying coaster, but it's not as tall. At least it's a hyper coaster. I'm not sure. -

Ah, it's a different manufacturer. That makes sense. Although it still mystify me as to why CF would get this type of ride, period. Keep making this park spectacular! -
Hello all. My family and I are going to visit Knott's Berry Farm for the 5th time during mid-August. The hotel package we booked includes three Knott's Berry Farm/Soak City tickets per guest. The ticket also allows for entry to the park an hour early. Since this is a forum dedicated to theme parks, I want some tips. 1. How long are the lines expected to be? Last year, they weren't horrible. Can I expect them to stay the same? 2. What rides should I ride on first? Last year, Xcelerator was closed, so I really want to try it out this year. Are there any other recommendations? 3. Is GhostRider any smoother? I remember that the coaster was bumpy but enjoyable. Maybe it's because it is the only woodie I've been on... 4. How's the food? Are there any specific restaurants you would recommend? I would really appreciate if someone would answer my question. Thanks!

I just started reading this and I think this park is looking very nice! However, I think four coasters at grand opening seems to be too much of a stretch. Either management has a whole lot of money or they took out a big loan. And did it really pay off? Ricochet derailed in its first year of operation! With that on the side, keep it up! I can't wait to see more of this park.
