Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

The only time I went to Kings Island, it was a chilly and drizzly day. I actually had a blast, even though Diamondback was throwing pins at my face (well, that's what the rain hitting my face felt like). -

If you want a good example of a Whip, go to either Dorney Park or Knoebels. Hershey's Whip stinks. -

I'd really like to know why everyone always says SkyRush hurts their legs. I've ridden SkyRush many times and I have never gotten off it in pain. I pretty much always ride in the front row, too. -

I stayed at the Motel 6 in Ashland when I went to Kings Dominion. I'm still around to talk about it, so it must not have been that bad. -

You can see which days have the pay-one-price plans available and which don't by looking at their calendar. Knoebels' Calendar -

If you're going on a weekend in June, pay-one-price plans are not available. If you're going on a weekday, lines should be fairly short so you should be able to get your money's worth out of a pay-one-price plan. You should also plan on buying enough tickets to ride the haunted house, since that does not take the wristband/hand-stamp. Regardless of when you go, get your hand-stamp if they're selling them and head to Flying Turns first thing since its capacity isn't the best. Impulse can also have rather low capacity depending on how many cars they're running. -

Flying Turns sometimes closes in the rain. Something to do with the trough being too slippery. -

When I went to Kings Island, I stayed at the Motel 6 in Florence, KY. It's about 40 minutes away, which isn't too bad. I stayed there because I was also going to Kentucky Kingdom and some other places the same week. -

I will be going to the park for the first time ever on Sunday, July 30. What kind of lines can I expect to see on a Sunday at the end of July and should I bother budgeting for a FastLane+? -

When I was at the tour the day before EastCoaster 2017, they specifically stated that it would be closed on Sundays just like every other Chick-fil-A restaurant.
