They just removed 2 credits(both rolling thunder sides) so it seems odd that they would remove another coaster when they have land available for an new coaster already (Batman and Robin area) I agree. Not saying it will be removed, but if they don't want to fix up Old Country, Bizarro is probably next on the chopping block. Green Lantern is too "new," unfortunately.

SFGadv Dreaming: RMC wooden coaster revitalizing Old Country. Or an Intamin Giga Realistic: I think they will get a coaster next year, so it could be a few things. Rumors about SFMM and even SFNE getting the iron horse, but if they remove a coaster, Bizarro is most likely, so some type of B&M in that spot (wing or 4D). Or RMC, you never know. SFA Dreaming: Bizarro from SFGadv Realistic: a flat or waterpark expansion. SFA really needs a highlight coaster, but I just don't see it. What do you think?

Nice TR. I would like to second what you said about Bill at I-305. I was there in April, and he was the liveliest operator I've ever seen. He was enthusiastic and his voice sounded like a recording- he was awesome! My friends and I were joking around with him throughout the day- we got about 10 rides. We shared jokes and he remembered us after leaving for a few hours. If only more operators were like him. -
Alternatively, Six Flags could avoid disappointments to media outlets and guests and travellers by actually starting construction at a normal time. I mean, how many Six Flags rides get delayed each year? Meanwhile, you've got coasters like I-305, built through three blizzards and torrential downpours, that open as-scheduled. I understand that delays happen - I work on engineering projects too. I just don't see how a company like Six Flags can be so willing to promise opening days year after year and consistently fail to meet them. Either announce an opening day of June 21 for every new ride, or start groundwork earlier. No decent business (or contractor, whoever it is that they keep using) should feel that it's acceptable to provide products so late so reliably. How do you know that this is Six Flag's fault and not RMC? Maybe RMC made a promise on a date they couldn't meet. Either way, it's really not that big of a deal. I'd try to get a little more experience in the engineering/construction world, before passing harsh judgements like that. You have to look at recent history to get an idea. I'm not going to blame Six Flags, RMC, or winter, but Six Flags isn't known to meet deadlines, even Memorial Day deadlines. Even this year, Zumanjaro is delayed, Ragin Cajun is delayed (which is completely beyond me- a relocated wild mouse, for God sakes), just to name a few. Cedar Fair (as an example because they are a similar business) meets deadlines (usually opening day) much more consistently than Six Flags. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I don't think it's totally out of line to blame Six Flags on this one. If RMC promised Memorial Day, or even before June, they wouldn't have waited as along as they did anticipating a harsh winter. You have to slow some space in the schedule for snow days, Especially in the Midwest.

All the times I've went for the past couple of years Ka had less than a fifteen minute wait with two trains. It's popularity has definitely decreased over the years. I know for a fact that the capacity of the ride is better now then it was before. The ride gave over a million rides last year and it's never done that before. But even then, I thought it was always more efficient to utilize a separate load/unload station. While a train loads in the front station, another unloads in back, similar to MF. Doing so, unless there aren't more attendants, the need to unload and load before the next train is dispatched is gone, so it would automatically be faster. I'm not an op, so I don't know for sure, but this is what I've always heard. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Official RCT/RCT2 Help Thread

Sure... After finishing testing a new coaster I designed, (I've tried this in both the designer and in game scenario), I clicked the save track design button. It is fine until that point, when you would usually see the save screen that lists all current coasters by name. Now, it does nothing, as if the button were disabled. I know it is not disabled because not only it is not greyed out (indicating unavailability), but it allows me to select scenery to save with the design. Once I do that, the save screen never appears, and I don't get the "click" sound that indicates it was saved. -

I've been having trouble saving custom coaster designs. I've tried both in coaster designer (I think that's what it's called) and in a working scenario. It seems that it has only been this way since I installed 8cars 1.302. Has anyone had this problem? -
Sounds good to me! Speaking of... it sounds like Kingda Ka will open for the weekend, then close back down immediately thereafter. This seems to me that they don't think they are close enough to completion/opening of Zumanjaro to keep KK running until then. To me, this sounds like they aren't as close to opening as we all thought. If they were that close to opening, then why wouldn't they just keep KK running through until then? I understand they can't run it while testing Zumanjaro, but couldn't they just close down KK on empty weekdays/nights? Maybe it's just me, but I'm not expecting a media day for another three weeks, if not more.

I wish they would do ert for Superman; that would be something I would mark on my calendar. I was planning to go last weekend which coincidentally was wild one ert, but something came up the night before, so I couldn't make it. But really, ert on Mind Eraser? "Let's go get 12 consecutive migraines! What fun!" Edit: On opening day I thought I remembered seeing ads for pass holder previews the 17th-18th... I guess that went out the window. I'm curious as to what on earth could possibly delay opening a relocated 10-year-old wild mouse two or more weeks late. I always thought SF wanted to get new attractions running by Memorial Day for, you know, profits. But hey, profits aren't historically their strong suit.

why and when did they slow down the lift? I don't know exactly when but I guess they did it to reduce the speed of the ride (especially in the first drop) probably to decrease wear, maybe Ryan knows a bit more. Click back to page 106 of this thread. Looks like it was slowed down at the top of the lift sometime in the summer of 2007, just about 1 year after opening. It's unfortunate, even though it is my #1 wooden coaster, I can only imagine what the first drop could have been in the back rows.
-
From that angle it looks like the drop get very steep very quickly, similar to El Toro, which contributes to the airtime on the first drop. It's interesting that this is mainly seen on the newer, extreme wooden coasters. B&M hypers, MF and I-305 drop relatively gradually. It takes them longer to reach the maximum descent angle, taking away from the whip over the drop experienced on El Toro. Curious to hear how this drop compares, given its a chain lift, unlike the gigas and El Toro.
-
^^Get there before opening (just a few minutes so you're not stuck behind a large group at the entrance) and head right to El Toro as you said. You should get at leat 2 rides without getting off, and a few more waiting no more than 2 trains. As for crowds in general, I can't say for sure, but with no events I can't imagine it would be packed at all.

Last summer I stayed at Breakers Express and paid between $100 and $120 for four of us. I think as one time visitors it was worth it, given ticket discounts and early entry. There's a chance we'll be returning this summer and staying at Breakers Express again for the same reasons, possibly adding a discounted starlight ticket for the night before. I'll be sure to run the numbers to see if the perks are worth the extra cost. -
That's your opinion and I'm completely fine with that, but I believe the names you mentioned are more fitting than Full Throttle. El Toro is known for some of the most extreme OMFG ejector airtime in the world, like being thrown from a bull. It is themed with Spanish influences, and is tied together being a wooden coaster. Dragster imitates the experience of racing a dragster. Extreme acceleration and top speed, then height to use the speed, and the trains look like dragsters. Smiler, well I haven't ridden it, but it, but it's kinda strange within itself. I don't completely understand how Full Throttle displays an opinion on life though. A launch reaching not very impressive speeds, a large loop, and another launch. It's a short ride, is this because life is short? Is that what you're saying? I just don't think the ride eminates a life opinion. Maybe it's just me. Like I said, I respect your opinion, I just don't agree.

It's about 30 feet taller than the overbank turn right now. EDIT: Whoops, I was referring to the drop structure. The lift right now is a little lower than the overbank turn, but it won't be for long! The drop structure though is around 150 feet at the moment, I think. I'm not great with estimates but I'm comparing the steel structure from the webcam based on the renderings. Keep in mind that the lift will only be 165 feet, if I recall correctly. I don't know the exact height of the overbank or the current height of the incomplete lift structure, but I'm sure it has at least another 15 feet to go, if not closer to 30.

And now... Superman: Ride of Steel - Six Flags America
-
Sounds like what Batman: The Ride was in 1992, and at the same park, I might add. Both are by relatively new companies that recently stormed on the scene, and both are compact, (very likely) intense rides that change the way many think about the industry and what can/should be done on coasters. Batman was no extreme record breaker, but look where it is now... everywhere. Just a thought. I actually don't see Goliath being cloned. Six Flags seems to clone smaller, non-record breaking rides, like Batman and S:UF.
