Very much looking forward to the next update. Any news? -
Your guilty pleasure ride
Password121 replied to DanTheBooker's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Although it is one of the most popular rides in the park, it's rather under-appreciated by enthusiasts... Credit to Coaster Community -
Souvenirs are mixed in with some of the larger buildings, particularly in the entrance area. And yes, I agree Huh. Stay posted. I absolutely agree. Perhaps management had higher hopes for expansion at the time of Corvus' construction (1984). More to come. Thanks for commenting, the 1995 opening update is in the works!

Lets turn Wicked Twister backwards. Not sure why nobody's thought of that -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

First off, that is a pretty freakin' awesome idea- a 500 foot vertical drop from a holding brake, looking down on CP's landscape...One can dream. I do however think a giga sized dive coaster would be feasible (not for Cedar Point, just in general). B&M has shown they are willing and very able to work with 300+ feet at a reasonable cost. Considering Dive coasters are generally shorter layouts, more compact (steep lift, vertical drop, etc.), I could see and would love a 300 foot dive (with that in mind, I'm sure the cost could be slightly more affordable than B&M's gigas (~$30 million). Just my two cents. -
Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

Losing one of those old Arrow Antique Car rides isn't a huge deal, IMO. Many parks have them, but Cedar Point has three. Fortunately, Cedar Point isn't barren when it comes to flat rides, both family/thrill. A major new flat ride would be nice, and I would prefer something to happen with Mean Streak's plot, but this isn't the worst idea out there. A dark ride might be better suited at this time, as well as a new wooden coaster, but removing the theater (announced) and one of the old car rides (speculation) isn't a bad move, IMO. -

That would be strange move, IMO. I've also ridden Griffon, while I thought it was good, I don't think its necessarily what Cedar Point needs at this point. Furthermore, if Cedar Fair continues the recent trend of one major coaster project per year, I wouldn't think Cedar Point would be next on the list. Canada's Wonderland, Kings Dominion or even Valleyfair would seem more likely for 2016. Although at only $15 million, two projects would seem more likely. -
Worst Ride Replacements/Downgrades

Kingda Ka for a half capacity Kingda Ka I never got to ride it, but some might say The Chiller for the Dark Knight. -
Coaster Studios, formerly Coasterguy14, is a YouTube page about coasters/parks run by a teenager. He used to he a member on the forums, but recently deactivated his account because other members were discussing his account on TPR chat. Anything he says, unless released by the park, is just speculation. He has no insider information, just him speculating. (I'm not trying to say anything bad about the former user. I respect him just as any other person, but it should be known that it is just speculation.)

The 1994 season at Frontier Forest has reached its end, but not all is lost. Visitors may have something to look forward to for 1995 at Frontier Forest, with what appears to be some major construction going on back by Corvus. The park has already announced the return of The Viking for next season after a refurbishment to the 14 year old attraction. This potential new ride couldn't come sooner, as revenue and park attendance has dropped significantly, down to 1.06 million. Comments/criticism appreciated! A look at Coyote's nearly empty loading station, which has recently become a more common sight What are we looking at again? Oh, right. Dirt-moving. Did I hear someone say Vekoma? Or was that Bolliger and Mabillard? This area certainly looks much different than it did just a few years ago.

^Thank you very much for the criticism, but I feel like this is becoming repetitive. This project has never had a major focus on architecture, but I am doing what I can to make the park presentable and decent looking. What it seems that nobody understand is this: I am not attempting to make a beautiful, stunning, awe-inspiring NCSO park. I am doing an RCT timeline project. The kinks and aspects of the park that just don't add up or don't quite look right are intentional. Please, for my sake, enough criticizing the layout. I gladly accept any and all criticism, but I have explained this multiple times. Here is what I will say: give me, say, 10 years in-game (year 2004) to overhaul the park layout. At that point, say all you want about the layout. Right now, what do you think I could possibly do to fix this, while keeping a realistic budget/timeline? I have every park expansion planned out until the mid-2000's at this point. The park will not look anything like it does at this point in time in the mid-2000's. If these problems are not fixed 10 years from now in-game (2004), I will drop the project. It isn't worth my time for you guys to tell the layout sucks every single update when I am very aware of this, but have plans in place to overhaul this aspect at some point (I will not specify when). Please, continue the criticism. Architecture suggestions. Expansion/improvement suggestions. Anything, except park layout, for the next 10 seasons. I guarantee you will not be complaining about the layout at that point in time. I don't mean to call anyone out. Really it is my fault that this is an issue, but it is quite frustrating as a builder to keep hearing this. Try to appreciate/criticize the amount of work I've put into the park since opening day. This park is a story, not an "NE worthy" masterpiece with architecture that you would never see in a traditional "amusement" park in RCT2. More to come, very soon. Thank you.

^I appreciate the criticism. It seems I haven't made this as obvious as I hoped; allow me to explain. Frontier Forest, in its current state, is a family oriented amusement park. What I've been trying to hint at the last few years are some potential difficulties concerning the direction of the park under park management. I have actively "questioned" management concerning recent additions and expansions. I built the Space Adventure Theater as it is for a reason. I didnt try to build a flawless, aesthetically pleasing structure. I greatly appreciate the criticism, and I support everything you guys tell me for future reference, but I assure you, I have a master plan for the park. This is more of a storyline, less of a park "model." It's imperfect on purpose. Final update of 1994 coming soon.

Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread
Password121 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Its only on wing coasters and inverts, to this point. The new dive coasters (Baron 1898) and floorless (Rougarou) trains appear to have the traditional OTSR's. The trains are also wider, requiring wider track with the new restraints. -
If you're enjoying building the park and the storyline, keep going. That's what it comes down to- it's ultimately your choice. If you're that discouraged by the lack of comments and it means that much to you, then don't continue. It's not worth your time/effort if you're not enjoying yourself.m I always enjoy reading through park timelines, but I won't always comment. Hope this helps your decision.

That really means a lot, thank you! I can't say for sure about the video tour, but I can cover the park more in depth if there is interest. I always try to keep in "character" in replying to comments, but I will tell you that everything built is how it is on purpose. Notice I've specifically pointed out the building is not attractive, and I've questioned "management" numerous times? I very well know and did everything with a purpose. Long term plans are in order, pending details. This park was planned fairly last minute, and now that I have more building experience, I wish I could go back and essentially "randomize" the layout. It is what it is, but over the next few years, many of the holes will be filled in and, hopefully, the park will be more cohesive. The park is right at the halfway point on the timeline, but probably only about a third of the way through on overall development. I know I keep saying this, but I can assure you: with every year that passes, the park is that much closer to really being something. I am not trying to make a *perfect* park in which every new ride or addition is meant to be a beautiful crowd-pleasing masterpiece. Above all, I want to make realistic and interesting. I really appreciate the criticism, molemaster43, and I hope you continue to follow the park over the next 20 seasons. I think you're in for a surprise this time. With that said, I want to thank everyone for 10,000 views! I would have dropped the project months ago without you guys. Thank you!

I've ridden three (Apocalypse, Green Lantern, Mantis), and Green Lantern was by far the best. Even so, the only coasters ill wait for at Gadv are El Toro, Kingda Ka, Nitro, Batman and Bizarro (to an extent). I've heard Georgia Scorcher is the smoothest of the stand ups, but Riddler's is close with a better layout.

The 1994 season is finally upon us at Frontier Forest! This year, Frontier Forest celebrates their twentieth season of operation. It has been quite the journey looking back to opening day in May of 1975. Frontier Forest started out as just a small collection of family attractions, but has since grown to more than two dozen rides and attractions. To celebrate this milestone, take a look below, and don't forget to comment. A bird's eye look at the Festival Stage, new in 1994 along with the bandstand and an expanded midway The new bandstand, along with new picnic style pavilions available to all guests As part of the 20th celebration, Forest Flyer was given a fresh coat of paint, back to its shining coat of white with bright red handrails (and some offseason re-tracking) The Sky Ride's support towers were given a fresh coat of white paint (from the previous red) Corvus, celebrating 10 years of operation in 1994, was updated with an on-ride photo available for purchase at the ride exit After two seasons, Alpine Bobsleigh has not been as popular The Log Flume's supports were given some off-season TLC, as well as a repaint to a lighter grey tone The Space Adventure Theater returns in 1994 for the second season showing the film Some were disappointed that management didn't spring for a new ride to celebrate the 20th year. The existing rides are only getting older and more outdated, while the competition is only improving its ride lineup A look at the expanded main midway, featuring the Festival Stage. Live entertainment is always a plus for a family park An overall look at Corvus (why is the grass behind it browning?) Attendance dropped to 1.1 million in 1993. Hopefully the park can bounce back soon enough. Frontier Forest welcomes guests for their 20th celebration!

Iron Wolf was B&M's first design, built in 1990. This is a ride that was designed and engineered with late 1980's technology, so you can't expect it to be butter smooth, especially being 25 years old. That being said, the ride is garbage. Most days at SFA the single train running is less than half full. I have ridden Green Lantern a few times at Gadv. While it isn't perfect by any means, it is more enjoyable than many sit down coasters (and all SLC's) and has a much more interesting layout, which is a redeeming quality. Many have the same opinion for Riddler's Revenge, but there is a reason Cedar Point is investing millions right now to make Mantis not a stand up. Just something to keep in mind.

In the last couple weeks I've finalized the plans for the next decade or so. The park's finances are looking good as of now (never come close to the $100k max loan I set) and the outlook is really coming together. With that, I can tell you there will be some surprises before long. Stay with me on this one- I didn't think I would use terrain in the past, but it is looking more and more likely.

Okay this is fairly pathetic, but... Definitely: Six Flags America Six Flags Great Adventure Possibly: Kings Dominion Cedar Point Kings Island Six Flags New England Stretch/unlikely: Carowinds Holiday World Busch Gardens Williamsburg Six Flags Magic Mountain (least likely, but I would LOVE to visit)
