It always gets me when warning or information signs in parks (or anywhere for that matter) have words spelled incorrectly or have improper grammar. You'd think they would spell check before printing a permanent sign. If you didn't catch what I'm talking about, "it's" does not necessitate an apostrophe in possessive form.

I completely disagree. Why would they remove major portions of the structure--particularly a lift hill--to replace just the tracks? The progress that had already made just screams I-box conversion to me. My guess would be they are shortening the layout quite a bit, making the ride single track with two/three trains and one/two lift hills, respectively.

Looking at visiting this Sunday with a few first timers (girlfriend/friends)... Planning on doing both the water and theme park. If we arrive at opening and do the majority of the theme park rides by about 1pm, how are the crowds in the waterpark likely to be early/mid afternoon? Is it realistic to do a good number/majority of the slides by around 4 or 5? I'm a somewhat regular to the dry side, but have never ventured over to the waterpark side.

Do you mean specifically for a Cedar Fair park? There have already been multiple announced 2016 B&M coasters. -
Probably relatively similar to LSM launched steel coasters. I'm sure some of the mechanics are different with the different track structure, but I don't think it will be too complicated. It's more of just a foreign concept for a wooden coaster to be launched that makes people think it's so "out there." Umm... How should we know the specifics before the announcement? Yeah... I don't see it. Maybe they'll build it at La Ronde

It really depends on the person. I marathoned I305 about two weeks back on a Thursday and had no problem hopping right back in the (station wait) line. That said, I greyed out every time--about a dozen rides. *As a disclaimer, don't go in expecting I305 to change your life and be the hands down best coaster in the world. Dont get me wrong--it's an incredible coaster, and is in my top 5. However, if you set your expectations TOO high (like this poster is trying to do), you will more than likely be disappointed. As with Millennium Force (and the B&M gigas), most are either in the camp of "top five material" or "its okay." Expect it to be a good coaster, and see what happens. -

Then ties are spaced very differently for the two track types. The red one may be for a wing coaster (China perhaps), but the orange/brown track is for something else. That said--not a dueling coaster of two tones, unfortunately. -
Agree that some of the track at the plant is for the rumored CW coaster. Personally don't think CP will be receiving a dive coaster. Some "hints" (using the term quite loosely) about a dark rise coming to CP were revealed on this podcast. http://coasterradio.com I think its funny that you guys think this track is for a wing rider Seriously, this track is gigantic, no wing rider has ever had this size of track, but you guys can keep on dreaming . This is definitely for CP's dive machine. Never said its be a wing rider. Personally have no idea what it'll be. I just have a strong feeling CW will be getting the coaster while CP gets a dark ride. Not saying Canadas Wonderland won't get a new coaster, but I don't see how you could argue that Cedar Point isn't getting a new coaster next year. Their teaser campaign doesn't just hint at a new coaster, it says "that legacy (of world class coasters) will continue here at the roller coaster capital of the world." It's not a gray area.

^It's a shame attendance isn't where it needs to be these days, as my most recent (2014/15) trips to the park have been my best visits ever. The park is in the best shape its been in years, IMO. Since you say you are in management, can you answer my season pass question from a few posts back? I appreciate it! Edit: Also, you mention the higher the GSS scores, the more attention the park will get. What exactly does this mean? Do you mean from SF corporate in terms of cap-ex budget?

Curious if you rode on a wheel seat or not? For the most part, if you ride on a non-wheel seat (middle of the car) it is one of the smoothest wooden coasters I've been on. The second to last row and second to front row are my favorite seats. Then again, I love Blue Streak at CP so my opinions on wooden coasters are sometimes looked at strangely. I didn't take note of whether or not it was a wheel seat, but I would assume it was base on my experience. However, I'm also a Blue Streak fan (just for the "fun" factor). Not in my top ten or anything, but I much prefer it to Rebel Yell. My opinion on wooden coasters is that you shouldn't have to sit in a certain seat or in a certain way to enjoy the ride. If there are some (or many) rows that are uncomfortably rough, the coaster isn't smooth. If you have to lean forward in only the front row to have a decent ride (Mean Streak/coasterbill), it's not "smooth." Look at El Toro--obviously this is a completely different era and build from Rebel Yell, but regardless of where you ride, it is comparable to a brand new steel coaster. That being said, my favorite row on the bull is the second to last row because it's often five trains less waiting than the back and the airtime is still out of this world. -

Don't do drugs. That makes more sense. The reason I didn't "see" it is because most jokes are spurred on from an event that is commonly known or understood. I thought I was missing out on something--apparently not. It's a joke. Don't you roll your eyes at me! **All in good fun. As I said, you didn't provide any background--I thought maybe someone started a rumor or something from your post and you were trying to poke fun at the idea. No hard feelings! Anyways, I wonder if KD will be doing anything special for Shockwave's departure? Carowinds has been giving out pins daily to the first 100 riders on Thunder Road and has put up some signage commemorating it. Although, I'd argue Thunder Road is both more historical and a much better ride than Shockwave. At least we still have Rebel Yell. I agree about Thunder Road. Shockwave might not get quite as grand a departure as, frankly, most will be glad to see it go. On a related note, I found Rebel Yell to be somewhat uncomfortably rough. I found it to detract from the ride experience, and I didn't notice any hints of even mild floater airtime. I thought Woodstock Express had far more airtime, and was much much smoother. -

I just don't get the point of that post. Can someone explain some background for me? -
Season pass question--I have an unprocessed regular season pass to SFA that has the name of a family member as the owner, who is also the purchaser. Can a friend process this pass to be theirs? Is any identification needed when processing? We're fine with the family members name being on the pass, we just want to use the pass.

The layout is VERY suitable for it. Mean Streak is more or less a mirror image of the original Texas Giant, and RMC did amazing things to that ride. Mean Streak could be as smooth as butter and trim-free and still be a pretty lame ride (especially in a park like Cedar Point with the bar set so high). The ride is screaming some type of RMC treatment. It doesn't really get enough ridership to be worth the investment. Texas Giant, Rattled, Medusa, Colossus, and Cyclone were all very popular rides at their respective parks. I'd consider a full topper track rehab (Timber Wolf style) more likely. That's exactly the point though. Cedar Point needs to make the absolute best use of each square foot of space it has available. That means that (relatively) unpopular rides like Mean Streak aren't worth their space, and the plot could be better utilized and therefore increase ridership. This discussion was has months back, but there's no use having a 1,600 pph theoretical capacity if only 1,000 riders bother to get in line each hour. Even with a reduced theoretical 1,200 pph capacity, if the ride is more popular and holds a steady line, this is a better use of space and improves overall park "capacity." *"Capacity" meaning actual capacity, not theoretical. -
Opening day of the 2000 season is quickly approaching as the busy offseason nears its end at Frontier Forest. The park update is in the pipeline, set to release soon. Word around the street is that Pendulum, along with Dodgems, may have seen its last cycle in 1999 and may not return for the new season. Prepare as the back of the park gets an entirely new, refreshed feel for the Premier debut of the new millennium at Frontier Forest. I've also heard murmurs of Bolliger & Mabillard. And Vekoma. Stay tuned.

then y did u come to the park??? Probably because the support color of a roller coaster doesn't deter most sane human beings from enjoying a day at a park. Not to be a backseat moderator, but I'd recommend you improve your spelling and grammar sooner rather than later. -

Get in the park at 10am for Dominator early entry. You can easily get two rides before the rest of the park opens, then head straight to Volcano. -

Huss isn't the only manufacturer of frisbee-style rides. But HUSS is the only good manufacturer of them. I would disagree. Zamperla makes an excellent version--even larger than the HUSS models. -

Six Flags announces all new attractions at the same time, in the same announcement--not even just within a few days. Cedar Fair varies park to park and depending on the attraction. Most new coasters are announced early-mid August, with other announcements generally between late August to November, with a few rare exceptions.
