  1. Dueling Dragons @ IoA. Back when they dueled no less.
  2. Will the ride ever reopen? Will it be refurbished so it could be relocated to another park? Will we finally experience the world's most mysterious roller coaster???? Nobody knows, and I'm betting five bucks that nobody cares at this point...
  3. I was only 11 years old when I rode on Dueling Dragons @ IOA. Back when they dueled, no less! By the time I was only 8 or 9, I was already an avid flat ride junkie. ...I started young...
  4. Every time I go to Seaworld Orlando, I marathon my all-time favorite: Kraken This ride is excellent for marathons, with its giant inversions, smooth transitions, and floorless seating.
  5. My answer is simple... Anything by Anton Schwarzkopf. His rides are world-class in terms of just how enjoyable they are.
  6. Next Update is today! Uhhhh...dude, that's the intent. This park is kind of an experiment, to see how many rides I could cram into a huge park. SCR7.BMP This is where we left off... SCR10.BMP After my last update, I decided that a skyride would be a useful addition to the park. SCR11.BMP It would be a nice complement to this B&M Hyper-Lite if you were to ask me. SCR16.BMP I also put in a custom Vekoma invert and some bumper cars to add to the park as well. SCR17.BMP Lastly, I put an Intamin Impulse coaster into the park; I wanted something more unique than a boomerang. SCR19.BMP Overview of the park. My next update will go into further details about the coasters themselves, their stats, and other info.
  7. I always have been, and always will be a front row rider. My only exception is flying coasters, where which seat you pick does not make a difference.
  8. Hey everyone, let's build a park! SCR1.BMP We will start with some paths... SCR2.BMP ...then we can put some rides in the park! I chose some flats to open with the park. SCR3.BMP In addition, I decided to open up a wooden coaster with the park, just to get more crowds in there. SCR4.BMP As I opened my park, I of course wanted even more rides in there. A space shot tower seemed fitting. SCR5.BMP Next up was this little cafe-like area where guests could eat and buy stuff. SCR6.BMP To close this update, I put some new rides in. More to come soon!
  9. Same here. To me it will just never be as impressive as the Palm Island. Still, it's far less crappy than he typical Chinese knock off vekoma coaster.
  10. It's a Small World is a given. It's the kind of ride I had in mind when I made this forum. In my case, it isn't the soundtrack so much as it is the dull theming and design. It's just a forgettable ride overall, even with such (regrettably) unforgetable music. I tend to pass on water rides when I go to most parks, though I have some exceptions.
  11. Compared to GASM at the same park, I found the Georiga Cyclone to be a fun and intense wooden coaster with great drops and laterals. Proof that a good woodie doesn't need airtime to be a must-ride. Then again, I usually skip wooden coasters, I just don't find them as much fun. They are good (and sometimes excellent) rides, just not my style.
  12. Ummm...wow, I never acctually expected this to get to the front page of www.themeparkreview.com! Thanks a million!
  13. Exactly. More coasters need a butterfly inversion. Great inversion with smooth transitions and nice g-forces. Smoothest segment on Ninja for sure. http://www.johnnyupsidedown.com/events/events08/sf12a.jpg
  14. I love vekoma. No, really, I've had good experiances with vekoma. Just get rid of those silly boomerangs and most of their SLCs and you'll see most of their rides are pretty good! Ninja Rock n' Rollercoaster X-Flight Gravity Max Expidition Everest Space Mountain: Mission 2 Just a few good Vekomas out there. There's plenty more rides I have not listed, I can assure you.
  15. I honestly think it's a government mandate to have at least one china knock off at a chinese park.
  16. About time I made a post on my own topic! I can't enjoy anything built by Pinfari. I can usually find some enjoyment out of coasters considered the worst at their respective parks. A good example of this is Ninja at SFOG, which everyone but me seems to really hate for no good reason. But Pinfaris are borderline unridable for me. I cannot enjoy a single coaster from this manufacturer. Their coasters are rough, boring, painful, ugly, and incredibly underwhelming. The RC-48 model crams you into the vehicles in a fetal position, then body slams you against the giant restraints. Oh and you can't see anything in front of you if you are in an even numbered row. And that's not the worst of it...
  17. People say that Ninja at SFOG is painful for some reason. I like that ride, the butterfly inversion is one of my all time favorites!
  18. Whether we admit it or not, there's that one ride we just skip for no real reason. It might be a ride we just can't handle, it could be a ride that is physically painful. Perhaps a ride just isn't exciting enough, or it's too short for it to be worth our time. Or we just don't like them Anyone have a ride you just don't like? And if so, what's your reason?
  19. Everyone has "that one ride" they just can't enjoy. I'll have to make a topic about that.
  20. Forget the GP, I don't like it when a "coaster enthusiast" rejects a flat ride under the assumption that it will make him sick or whatever. Get a grip, you claim to be better than the "general public" but you're so picky about what to ride that it just makes you look like a fool. All it does is just make the GP look so much smarter. And they can be kind of dumb sometimes. Flat rides can't get you sick, at least not as easily as one might think.
