  1. If you have to use a 'trick' to reduce the roughness to enjoy a ride then you are admitting it is a rough coaster. This coaster like all other ones was designed with backs on the seats for a reason. If you were meant to 'lean foward' the entire ride they would have designed the seats without backs in the first place. And what you call a 'trick' I call 'just a natural rational response to preserving you lower back' after the first drop. Good for you, but that still doesn't change the fact that Mean Streak was a rough coaster. If you like riding Mean Streak then I am glad you enjoyed it and had fun, everyone is different. If you enjoy being a masochist knock yourself out. Just don't tell me it is not a rough coaster or call me a 'fan boy' for saying it is. When I rode it this past June is was still plenty rough to me and I personally cannot wait for RMC to do their magic on that unruly hunk of junk. Noted, but you had me fooled with the TTD GIF above your username and your 'Location' as CP or SDC. Rekt!!
  2. The shadow doesn't match, another fake j/k
  3. Yeah those free spin 4D coasters seem pretty attractive. They're comfortable, thrilling, relatively cheap compared to most new steel coasters, have a small footprint and fit in parks with height restrictions, decent capacity, and they bring people into the park. I'd buy one. The chance hyper GTX I thought fit the same bill, but yet no one is buying them I think it would be a lot harder to market a GTX, a 4D on looks alone piques people's interest. A GTX from the ground just looks like a small rollercoaster to the GP, they have no idea it's a bat poo-poo crazy ride with airtime galore. Plus I think a 4D takes up less real estate and can be squeezed in almost anywhere with a narrow/long strip of land. I also fear the same type of of shunning might await the RMC raptor track... 4D S&S free spins are absolute garbage. It's a family coaster, by S&S own marketing yet they have been hyped as a thrill ride by SF. Having ridden the 4D at SFGAdv it was less than impressive to be kind. This was the general consensus among crowds when talking to people in lines for other rides. People have initial interest and then most are disappointed by the actual experience. SF wants to go for more low cost coasters so more parks get coasters more often, but 4D's are a bad choice. There are a lot better coasters in the less expensive range. 4D's are not going to hold people's interest b/c it's not a thrilling experience, there is no desire to go back and ride again. SF got them b/c they are cheap and take up a very tiny footprint of 259ft x 28ft. They are not a ride worthy to be a wide spread clone. Better plan IMO, would have been to give the parks with out launch coasters clones of the Sky Rocket II or III. There are a bunch of a good sub 10M coasters they could have spread around like the GT-X, Zierer made a good one for Knoebels for 8M, Infinity Coasters and Euro Fighter are 8-9M. Then eventually give MM and GAdv a dive or giga. They could give GAdv a wing b/c they need one over a dive or giga. GAdv has so much space it's just a money thing, while many other SF parks have space concerns. I rode Batman at Fiesta Texas and it was far from garbage. I realize it isn't everyone's cup of tea but Batman performed well enough to warrant Six Flags ordering 4 more. They wouldn't invest in more if people were "losing interest" in the ride. Especially considering Batman has run two seasons, more than enough data has been compiled to show proof of its success.

  5. Please tell me you have a Fifth for me, too! This has become me also whenever I hear "B&M rattle". It's not my fault you guys have dependency problems
  6. ^Yeah it's really hard to rank these RMCs, not much separates them in terms of quality
  7. Thanks it was about 10 mins after it rained, it was a really striking photo op in person. Wish I had a better camera to truly capture how awesome it was!
  8. A few random cell phone pics hilarious
  9. How'd you know Jack Daniel's is my fave?
  10. Mini TR from 9/17-9/18 It drizzled pretty steadily for most of the afternoon-early evening on Sat, all the rides stayed open except for TTD and Windseeker. I was surprised Raptor was even running in drizzles, the last time I was at CP they kept closing it anytime there was a drop of rain. All the rides did close around 7pm when there was a torrential down pour for about 20 mins, everything quickly opened after it passed though, even TTD!!! Valravn- Much better than I expected, thought it was much superior to Griffon. I actually 'felt' the first drop which was unexpected. Only gripe was the rattles in certain parts of the ride. I think this is just something with the newer B&Ms, noticed it on Fury, Banshee, and Gatekeeper. MF-Same amazing ride, sat in the 2nd row for the first time and experienced AIRTIME. I used to roll my eyes when people would say MF had airtime, but now I've witnessed first hand. 45 min wait on Sat, 20 mins on Sunday. Maverick-Awesome as I remembered it, 30-45 min wait both days, was a walk on at the end of Sunday night TTD-Much more intense than I remembered, the launch punched me in the stomach much harder than before. Loved it, such an adrenaline rish. It was closed most of Saturday until about 7-8pm when the storm finally cleared. 30 min wait on Sat, 10 mins Sun. Gatekeeper-I still love it, not in my top 5 at the park but its definitely fun especially in the first and last rows. Was 5-10 min wait the whole weekend. Raptor-Same great ride, was a walk-on when I rode it Sun. Magnum-Sat in a 'non wheel seat' and had a pretty decent ride on it. The ending of course is stellar as always. Rougarou-I liked the pace of the ride, it really tears through all the elements. The headbanging was BAD though, worse than Mantis IMO. The restraints really kill the ride for me, and since I'm prone to migraines I will never ride again. Also rode, Gemini, Blue Streak, and Sky Hawk. All in all, had a fun 2 days at CP... I acually wasnt expecting to visit CP again so soon but my friend and I planned last minute. We picked a great time to go, the park wasnt busy and we even got a little taste of HalloWeekends. Didnt do any of the mazes or houses though.
  11. Thunderstorms in the foecast we'll see how it goes...
  12. I wonder if the fact that Viper had to be built to withstand seismic activity is the reason why it was able to outlast GASM and Shockwave.
  13. I thought Griffon was kinda meh, but the GP will eat this ride up I'm sure.
  14. I'd love that idea, take out the inversions and turn it into an airtime machine.
  15. I'd totally understand if Viper was removed, the whole area needs a revamp and a new coaster would do the trick. I'd be a bit sad though, that was my first "big ride" as a kid in the 90's. It had and still has today such a dominating presence in the park's skyline.
  16. Just going off evidence, I would assume the track in the photo is for Mean Streak considering no other wooden coasters have announced an early closure. Unless there is some surprise announcement no one is expecting...
  17. I had no idea Intamin was doing another mega lite, awesome! We're still mega lite barren here in the U.S.
  18. I love how KD's rumors always seem to be for $20 million attractions, yet what they usually end up getting is closer to $20.00 Can't help but wonder if Screamscape's insider for KD is that madmax guy...
