  1. ^ DUDE. Please plan a trip to Morey's. Like I told you I will happily meet up w/ you guys and show you around!
  2. Hey everybody! This thread is simple! Rather than having a million little threads about everything that goes on at Playland's Castaway Cove, this thread is designed to consolidate it all into one user-friendly thread. Feel free to use it to post updates, trip reports, questions, comments, and of course, general discussion. For pictures and videos of the park as well as past updates, see TPR's Park Index Playland's Castaway Cove Playland's Castawaya Cove's Offical Website Below are some links to past updates from the park, you may be interested in. Enjoy! --Robb _____________________________________________________ 2015 August 4th 2015, Gale Force announced (see below) 2017 May 29th, 2017 - Gale Force opens September 17th, 2017 - Wild Waves opens November 13th, 2017 - Replacement track coming to Gale Force 2018 I couldn't find a thread for this park, my apologies if there is one. Can mods move it there if so? Anyways, this is huge for this small park and should be a great addition. I'm excited to have one of these so close to home, maybe I will finally (after many failed attempts) check these Ocean City parks out once this is built! I wonder if this will light a fire under Morey's ass to finally pull the trigger on their woodie or some sort of new coaster?
  3. My one and only ride on Great Bear was back seat at night. Awesome. Skyrush in the pitch dark is quite an experience too.
  4. Ruh roh OSHA launches investigation into Allentown's Dorney Park
  5. Maverick. No question for me. It is the definition of a perfect coaster. Millennium has a great drop and lots of speed. Maverick on the other hand has everything: tunnel, launches, perfect inversions, insane (albeit small) drop, speed, crazy transitions, water features, some themeing, etc.
  6. so far... Mean Streak. Ragin Cajun for the runner up.
  7. I think that's why the name fits for me. It's the loudest coaster in the park, definitely roars like a bear.
  8. Wow, they're not wasting any time! Nice to see some progress.
  9. As usual great report so far Marcel, with some fantastic photos. I think you might be the happiest TPR boarder alive. Kawasemi looks amazing, I want to ride all of the megalites!
  10. I will win because I will ride it til my legs break.
  11. I'm not sure but I hope its Morey's because I had so much freaking fun the few weekends I was down last month, or Hershey because everyone I know has been going recently reminding me that I need to get back to the best park in the world ASAP.
  12. Skyrush: Not just a ride, it's an endurance challenge.
  13. I can confirm one thing: this thread is going to become unbearable for the next 15 days.
  14. It's a play on the word clear. Follow the clues... once you add the 15 (the amount of days left) and divide by pi, carry the 2, then use those coordinates on a ouija board it spells out "All clear means you're out of here. Sit back, hang on tight and enjoy your flight on Divehawk 223.
  15. Theme park speculation is serious business! Calm down, I was just joking. But that teaser screams dark ride to me, just sayin.
  16. Wimp! Seriously though, I was looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Skyrush after we talked about it, and where it fell in your rankings, and how you had only ridden it once. I must have thighs of steel of something because I don't understand the disdain for the restraints. I can see how after marathoning many times they would start to bother someone but after two rides in a row I was ready for a third. But I'm glad to hear you got a back row wing seat ride on it because it's absolutely bonkers back there, but I love it so much. SDL and Great Bear are both great too, very underrated. Glad to hear you guys had a great time. I know two other sets of people that were at Hershey this weekend and everyone said it was very busy but everyone had fun. I was thinking about all of you and wishing I was there (I was at my 2 year old nephews b-day party, of course we bought him one of those tiny backyard kiddie coasters which was a HUGE hit - we could have charged admission - but sadly I was way over the height/weight limit and therefore denied any coaster rides this weekend LOL). Anyways, I love this park so much and I'm trying to get there sometime later this month, hoping its quiet the last week of August, I'm gonna try to go on a weekday. I still need the Comet, Sidewinder, Trailblazer and Lightning Run (right side) credits. And I need to marathon my baby some more.
  17. I can't wait until everyones all butthurt when they announce the '20,000 Leagues Under Lake Erie' dark ride they are opening in 2016.
  18. I actually don't find Hydra rough at all. And I think it has potential - agreed the layout is unique and as I've said it *looks* like it should be great. I just find it very dull. I think if it was rough it might be a little interesting somehow lol.
  19. Other than the jo-jo roll, what makes Hydra stand out from other quality coasters they have in Talon, Possessed and Steel Force? I decided to refrain from being a negative nancy in my post last night and not mention Hydra at all but it is a giant waste of space IMO. It kind of bums me out. I want to like it. The ride looks great, but is such a let down. I know I'm not alone, though I do know people (for some strange reason) like the ride. I love the way it interacts w/ the terrain, but even that doesn't thrill me the way the low to the ground section on Talon does. The jo-jo roll is an obnoxious novelty if you ask me, the rest of the ride is forceless and frankly, boring. Which is crazy to think considering the amount of inversions it has and the amount of space it covers. Personally I would think Steel Force is their star attraction if I had to pick one. For starters, its huge (comparing to their other rides). It's the most well known to the GP and it tends to get longer lines than any of the other coasters. But is it the best? No, Talon and Possessed are better though I do like Steel Force. It's best in the front.
  20. I love Dorney, sounds like you guys had a nice stop. No they don't have a star attraction (other than the waterpark I suppose) but their collection is solid and never having to wait is just the greatest - I am spoiled @ Morey's with this too. Bummer you couldn't squeeze in Possessed, I don't know why but I love it so much. Talon is the perfect invert imo, all of the others (mostly) seem to be balls-to-the-wall intense, but Talon brings it down just a notch but it still manages to keep me on my toes. The ride is perfectly paced, and the zero-g gets me every time, even after many marathon rides @ C4Ks. Awesome finale. Glad I got to get on Demon Drop a few times my last visit, its a very intense experience. Also, I hate to admit this to you but I have yet to ride Thunder Creek Mountain. I need to make it a priority next time I'm there, though I think that won't be until Haunt since we enjoyed it so much last year. Excited to hear about Hershey!
  21. Namtab, GreatAdv Wednesday night 10pm
