Comet looks good and I definitely want to make it a point to ride it, long wait or not. -
I will say the free spins look interesting. It obviously offers an entirely unique coaster experience and for that I find them impressive. But it goes back to what would aesthetically work for this park. Not to sound like a broken record, but we have the tallest coaster, the number 1# woodie, one of the top hypers, tallest drop ride, an enormous star flyer, and a collection of solid B&Ms, etc etc etc. A free spin, even a larger model IMO doesn't fit. And while this goes back to my personal preference I can see a YOLO clone with a MASSIVE loop/tophat in front of the lake. I still have a little over a week to keep gunning for a Premier launcher. I know I"ll be disappointed, but us getting any new coaster is going to be ace and I'm excited for whatever announcement they throw on us, just really pulling for a real curve ball. Also: not to be all correcting but we are talking about free spins, not free flys. This is a S&S free fly: As cool as that is, I really hope we're not getting that LOLOL.

^^^ Ive never once said its a bad ride, as I've never ridden it. I *have* said that it *looks* like a puke machine and that I don't find it a good fit for our park, on both an aesthetic and capacity level. Hell, they may build it, and I will ride it and who knows - I may love it. It's just not what I personally would like to see get built at my home park. But I know that at the end of the day that's not my decision to make and it's not like it's going to stop me from getting a season pass to a park that has El Toro, Nitro, Zumanjaro, and a whole host of other great rides.

Well, we are not staying overnight so the early entry stuff is out. This is strictly a day trip. Since I'm not driving I can't even guarantee (but would hope that) we would make it in time for opening. Also, I don't really care about Laff Trakk, so if I get to ride it cool but no way I'm standing in line for an hour+ for a spinning mouse. I just want to get rides on the three Intamins, Lightning Racer, SDL, Great Bear and get the credits for Comet, Sidewinder and Trailblazer. OK really though I just want to ride Skyrush and Stormrunner as many times as possible. What's Hershey's rain policy like? I feel like its been discussed here but I can't remember. Hershey is hands down my favorite park (based on my one, brief 5 hour visit last fall) and I hope it stays that way. Other than the epic Kennywood/Cedar Point weekend we had earlier this year, Hershey is the only other park I'm obsessed with getting to before the year is out. -

Looks like next week is the last week for daily operations, and from what I can tell most schools will back in session. Can a local confirm that the park should be pretty dead during the day next week because of that? Even the Friday before Labor Day weekend? I hate when posters ask "what are crowds going to be like" because there are always a more than few variables and its impossible to predict but I only have a few vacations days left for 2015 and this is a 2.5 hour drive for us each way. I'm mostly concerned about local schools being in session. Myself and a buddy from work are planning on heading up for a day trip Tuesday, Weds, Thursday or Friday, we are trying to figure out which day to go. Should we just go for Friday to make it a four day weekend? Or better off in the middle of the week (typically better at most parks for lower crowds)? Help! -
I've made it known here I am not a huge fan of Ka (one trick pony) but since I'm a Great Adv regularly, Ive ridden it a bunch, usually with someone who has never ridden or when it has no/little line. I did Dragster all of once and actually enjoyed the experience. It is too a 'one trick pony' but imo the lapbars make a HUGE difference for a tall rider, the launch felt smoother, operations were better/faster, the view from the top was nicer, and I personally like the themeing a bit more - it fits the ride style better on Dragster. So my vote goes to Dragster. It sits way higher in my rankings than Ka.

I thought it was established that the park was reverting back to the original theme of something Hawk related. -

I don't know if anything in the coaster world would excite me more than if a park announced a new Intamin in the states. #fanboy -

Oh man why hasn't anyone thought of painting a coaster with that black light paint and illuminate the track with black lights. That would look ridiculous and completely awesome. -

LOL ^ For me yes the airtime on the drop in the back seat is awesome and a huge reason I love it but I also appreciate not being able to see whats coming at all, the ridiculous blasting death metal, the strobe lights, the half assed props that are usually not working, and the usually short wait. It does have some of the most elaborate themeing in the park, you can't deny that. (LOL) Its like a Disney ride gone horribly wrong. I love it.

I can't believe no one has commented on Cedar Fairs use, once again, of the word "hawk" in a ride name. lmao
