I'm pretty sure I posted this earlier in this thread but I don't feel like looking for the post. Anytime I see this thread pop up I think Millennium Force. Obviously from my sig below I think its an extremely great coaster, it just did not live up to the years of hype and praise. Also Maverick, which we rode first out of the two, sitting a couple hundred yards away doesn't help matters. Like, with MF I can see why someone would think its the greatest thing since sliced bread but I just felt like it was a really big drop with a great view and lots of fast turns before slamming into the brakes. Nothing in the way of forces except spped, lots and lots of speed. Which is great, I guess it just lacks variety and surprise. I will say riding it at night was a transcendent experience.

^^ OK well how about this. Since you have ridden the ride in question, why don't you tell us which is the best seat?

I didn't dig too far back into this thread so big apologies if I missed this but how is this not being talked about? Its like the SFMM thread has been blinded by VR goggles or something. I knew this was being considered but didn't know they were rolling it out. Wondering how long til this goes in at the other SF parks. Since it doesn't have a transfer track they remove that piece to remove and add the train. Yep. This was talked about a couple months ago when someone noticed the piece missing and the board got all BLACKBEARDS GETTIN THE AXE!

A few weeks back a local TV clip (I think was posted here?) interviewed the park and they are aiming for a Memorial Day weekend opening. Keep in mind they are apparently building two other kiddie coasters (one of which will somehow go around this) and all three are projected to open together. Also the fact that this park is tiny and this ride is insanely huge & complicated compared to anything they've put in ever before (a Flitzer and a Pinfari looper lol).

Think about it - if they are testing Ka, there is no one on it - no loose articles to fall on Zum riders. That is the issue. The state won't allow them to run together because of potential loose articles flying and injuring those on the other ride. Its the reason for the retracting roofs on Zum and the reason they don't both run with passengers at the same time. One can run with passengers while the other runs without. The day of the commercial shoot they both ran simultaneously with riders on both. My video:

^ So what you're saying you saw actual video proof of something, yet you are asking for confirmation? LOL But yeah Ka can run with passengers if Zum is running empty. Its not entirely uncommon and I've heard of it happening a bunch and seen it once or twice myself.

Virgin visit to SFOG April 16th

OK so maybe I'll just wish for a day that its *supposed* to rain, but actually doesn't. Haha.

^ I am also a hotel snob, trying to not be for this since I'll really just be sleeping there. Just booked at Wingate. Closest walk from the park and just looks the nicest. Got a deal though orbitz that was 30% less than what the hotels website had listed. Just figure the extra money I am spending will allow me to relax a bit more and not rush around all day and can stay til closing, not to mention be able to take a hotel break midday if I so choose.

Thanks again for the tips, I can't believe the trip is coming up so fast. Just praying to the weather gods (that its cloudy and a small chance of scattered rain to be honest LOL). I am now kinda thinking it might be smart to just stay at one of the hotels right outside the park so I can stay riding until closing. And then just head out to Athens in the morning and not be rushed on Saturday. Probably a dumb question but assuming the same buses arriving at SF on Sunday morning will be able to get me back to HG Holmes and therefore into downtown ATL on Sunday morning? Anyways, any recommendations on the hotels right outside the park? I see a couple - Super 8 (really bad reviews), Sleep Inn (average to bad) and Wingate (decent but $$), I would literally just be sleeping there so something affordable but not a total dump would be sufficient.

All these operations complaints are worrying me for my visit in just over 2 weeks. :/ I also found out there is an ACE "Spring Fling" event that day where according to their promo for it they get unlimited exit passes on everything til noon. (WTF I hope there aren't a million of them) Platinum FP in the budget so I hope you guys can assure me waits won't be an issue. It looks like I'll have about 6 hours in the park from opening (or whenever I arrive) until about 4-5pm and would like to hit up all the coasters (except Ninja, obviously, not to mention I rode that f*cker when it was brand new next to the sea 25 yrs ago), the drop ride, and Monster Mansion of course. Skyscreamer, skyride and train would be bonuses. I hope its all doable! Also any insight if that coaster in the newer kiddie area be open? The Chance junior coaster (whatever the eff its called)? Also I don't know if I asked this before but I need lunch spot recommendations. Any places unique to the park/not-to-miss grub? I noticed there is a Macho Nacho.... (But we have that here.) Also the regulars: post your preferred seats on rides (except Batman and Superman, I'm well acquainted). Assuming Goliath is a back seater? I'm a huge fan of airtime so in particular the woodies I'm interested in the magic seats and if my Platinum FP will dictate where I have to sit.

Well, I surprised my better half for her birthday this weekend with a pair of tickets to Breakfast In The Sky. We've both been wanting to do this since they started it and I'm glad we'll get the chance this summer. Should be interesting enjoying breakfast 156feet in the air overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. If you don't know what I'm talking about. More info and menu at the link I posted ^. Also, for anyone planning a trip this summer, Morey's is also having their spring sale right now with tickets and wild card passes on the cheap.

^ Do not skip Bat(out of hell)man. I really regret not riding it Wednesday but its was running the best it ever has during HITP. Wait the few extra minutes for the front if you want to feel like your face is being ripped off. Only track being complete does not make a ride. Consider things like all of the concrete pouring and landscaping, construction of the queue & queue gates, all of the electrical work, the sign/entrance portal, control booth, and the landscaping of the entire new plaza going around the ride. I'd also assume that new VIllians Cafe should be part of that and finished to open with the ride. Not to mention at least a few weeks of testing the ride. I'm not saying it won't be open til summer, Batman @ SFFT opened on time, and they surprised us by opening El Diablo earlier than expected last year (not an insane feat or anything but still) however, on the other hand Zum didn't open until July 4th.
