  1. I still have not ridden El Diablo. One day I will. The funny thing is when I was a kid I rode Morey's 'Ring of Fire' right before it was removed and as a kid, I always wanted it to come back. You'd think that would've had me thrilled when GAdv announced that's what we were getting, but how can you be excited about a super loop next to El Freaking Toro? One day when Toro has an hour+ wait and Diablo is 5 minutes is the day I'll ride.
  2. I just don't understand how people aren't excited about any new coaster being added, let alone one that's rare at this point. Only one has been built so far, just confused here I am excited a new coaster is being built simply to take the heat off the rides I love at the park. In general I think its an ugly ride and a wasted opportunity to put something spectacular on the lakefront. That doesn't mean the ride won't be a hit and the GP will most definitely eat this thing up. Also I haven't ridden the SFFT installation so I have no opinion of the ride experience but it *looks* like puke machine to me. I might be wrong, and I will definitely try it once, and maybe I'll love it. Never judge a ride til you ride it. Ditto my friend! Call it what it is- a carnival ride! The coaster vs. carnival ride jokes were absolutely warranted w/ the parks marketing of El Diablo, but The Joker is a coaster. How is it not? Because it flips? If we go by that theory a spinning mouse is not a coaster because it spins? Come on. These freespins are pulled up a lift and coast the rest of the way. Maybe not a roller coaster in the traditional sense but as much as it's not what I wanted, and I think its ugly, it is a coaster, it is next level, it is highly marketable, and it is going to be a smash. And honestly, El Diablo is a carnival ride that looks great in the parks Plaza Del Carnival section, so can we just get over it already?

Only one has been built so far, just confused here I prefer my coasters to turn left or right at some point. If the Coaster Gods had a sense of humor, they'd smite you with a Wild Mouse next. Might be funny if we didn't already have one.
  4. Speaking of crappy maps! FFS Hershey's is the worst ever. This though. CP is really easy to navigate. It doesn't hurt that you can see Dragster, MF, Windseeker and Power Tower from anywhere in the park. Once you go around once, I don't know how anyone could get lost.

  6. Yeah that three story hotel across the street looks tiny compared to it. Those balconies will surely have a nice view of the ride. When checking the webcam I often wonder if the house (on the left, right next to the track) is a rental or if the owners live there, and if so what do they think of this. LOL
  7. I think we might see the top hat go in today.
  8. I hereby declare this ride to be referred to as Crazy Train and only as Crazy Train from this point forward.
  9. I was thinking the same thing. The sign was a little to obviously placed for it not to be a clue. Plus they have mentioned a big drop a couple of times now. . . B&M Dive Coaster? Hopefully they'll put it right next to Griffon. edit: Damn, beat me to it. ^
  10. ^ I'd say GreatAdv at this point. Last Joker update was over a week ago and they had almost reached the top shelf. Wish we had a webcam there to see how far along they are at the moment.
  11. Didnt even notice that sign. Do they have a height restriction at BGW? Giga maybe? Extreme does not necessarily = big. Could be a beyond vertical drop.
  12. Has this been posted here? Sorry if it has, its absolutely hilarious. 'Angry Splash Mountain lady' photos: Syracuse woman becomes funny Internet meme (make sure to scroll through the photos for all the great photochop jobs)
  13. Someone on or off the train? On the train. We got stopped on the midcourse (likely because it was thirtysomething degrees and Nitro was having none of it anymore) 30 minutes before closing and everyone on the train was out of their minds on adrenaline and freezing our a$$es off. No one had been getting on or off the train, everyone staked out their seats and were riding til they kicked us off. Anyways, we're stopped out there waiting for a crew member to drive out there and manually release the brake. We were in the back row and everyone was laughing and yelling nonsense out on the MCBR and this girl in the row in front of us mentioned she had chicken nuggets (in her pocket??) and asked everyone if they wanted some. I completely forgot about this since that night is a blur of insane, numbing Nitro endurance test but I now specifically remember her trying to pass some sort of food container/bag/something to us and laughing about it and politely declining. And then the train cheering in unison as we slooooooowly made it over each of the bunnyhops back to the station. Bill got some great on-rides from that night, he should post them. LOL
  14. Omg YES! I totally forgot about that. So funny.
  15. Since when does Nitro have a pre-drop? ^ We can safely report that stopping completely on the MCBR is brutally painful but sitting out there in the woods in the freezing dark waiting to be released from Nitro's death grip can be incredibly fun with a trainful of looney toons who are marathoning an 80mph hyper coaster in 30 degree temps on the last operating day of the year.
  16. ^ You definitely should. Now with Coasting For Kids not happening I find it very unlikely I'll make it to Dorney this year unless maaaaaybeee we go for Haunt. It almost feels like an annual tradition of sorts. I did a couple crappy trip reports in 2014 and last fall.
  17. If that's true (which without a source or anything to back that claim up I don't believe for a second) the park will staff the coasters as that is their biggest draw anyway. I'm really not worried. And if they really do close those days? Unless I'm there the day of and they give no warning, it's really not the end of the world.
  18. It was pointed out elsewhere that on the rides page of the website a ton of flats and kiddie rides say "temporarily closed" or "not open yet". Most of the coasters (most notably Toro) do not say this so I think we're good. I'm still trying to get there opening day. I'll be severely disappointed if I don't get to hear the Intamin fart, but considering its been closed since November they've had plenty of time for annual maintenance I'm not worried. I just need to ride a freaking coaster at this point.
  19. Ive done Dorney's Haunt the last two years. It was great in 2014. So much that it made me want to go back for 2015. And tbh it was kinda lame, at least as far as the actors and scare zones (we don't waste time in trails, not our thing). The actors in the scare zones almost all night were just hanging out talking to one another. Also the fog/lighting was just better in 2014. But the waits for the coasters were minimal both years and at the end of the day that's all I really care about with this park.
  20. LOL nah, I got to ride it a bunch during HITP. I am just missing Toro, Zum and Bizarro to be honest I could care less about the west side of the park. Except maybe Batman.
