Huge props to Cedar Point for making it right for everyone who waited x amount of hours and didn't get to ride by giving them fastlane and stuff like that. It was a very very weird situation but CP handled it well and it's even better that they got it open by the end of the night! We were in the area but the cutoff was reached unfortunately. I had already gotten 2 rides early on though so definitely not complaining. Great day at the park otherwise. They are hurting for staff but making the best with what they have. Got in a lot of rides on a crowded day. It's going to be a great summer!

Wouldn't be surprised if WT just isn't ready to open. Seems like they always struggle to get it ready for opening weekend. Damn intamins

To be fair, they are experiencing wind gusts near 40 mph today... That's pretty nuts even for CP. Tomorrow on the other hand, 75 and sunny. Don't even have to worry about clouds much less rain. It's not supposed to be windy either.

I'd say far from reliable but if you stick it out you should get a ride. It spent a majority of all three pass holders days broken down.

I remember taking a beast behind the scenes tour during coasterstock​ a couple years ago. Don Helbig led the tour and did a Q&A. During which the question "Why is beast so trimmed now?" His response was that the ride seems slower now because they changed from skid brakes to magnetic trim brakes which slows down the train more abruptly, giving you the illusion that it is slower overall. He said that that is not the case and that Beast is still running at the same speed it always has despite the illusion that it is not.

I know everyone's been saying this and it couldn't be more true for coaster enthusiasts but are we sure it's true for everyone else? I obviously don't have my finger on the pulse of Northern Ohio but is there really any more buzz about this than there was for Valravn or Gatekeeper among non-enthusiasts? Are people talking about Steel Vengeance around the water cooler when they're not busy sh*tting bricks about LeBron most likely leaving again? I wouldn't say it's a crazy amount of buzz, but more than Valravn and Gatekeeper. People see my SV shirt and ask immediately if I've ridden it yet and asking how it was. It's then usually followed by "Holy crap I can't wait to ride that thing" And these are mostly people that are as far away from being an enthusiast as possible.

For reference, Gatekeepers opening weekend was horrid. The weather was in the 40s with off and on sleet all day. The park was booming all day with 3-4 hour waits on Gatekeeper, a ride which was nowhere near as anticipated as SV. So, that being said, the most anticipated ride in years, maybe ever, plus absolutely beautiful perfect weather..... You're looking at some very very very long lines.

Just got off my first ride... Not going into too much detail but it's absolutely amazing. Number one in my books.

Well the day is finally here. Absolutely can not wait to get to the park tonight and finally ride this thing.

So happy to hear about the ops improvement​s. This park felt like it had a lot of potential when I went last year but with the poor operations it really put a damper on the whole experience. Consistent d ops and a new coaster would get me back to the park in a heartbeat.

I feel like the lack of water dummies has nothing to do with those seats possibly not working properly. I think it's more likely they're testing how the train runs with different weights so that they can test the sensors properly.

Honestly I felt like they were the same speed the second half but Joker seemed smoother and those head choppers made it sooooo ​great... The bitter cold might have played into the speed of the ride though
