  1. Visiting quassy for my first time in about a week and a half. Can't wait to finally experience Wooden Warrior!
  2. I will be visiting the park a week from Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday for my first time. Any tips for a first time visitor? Any glowing issues that I should be aware of (like rides not operating at all *ahem* lightning rod) I'm very excited to finally ride BD. Hope it lives up to expectations.
  3. Enjoyed the last few reports as usual Bill. My aunt lives about 15 minutes from Great America. She's not a coaster person so she's never been and especially doesn't want to go now because she's afraid of the cluster f*** that the area might be since they put the new football stadium in. That being said, I'm in the middle of planning a trip to stay with her and do CGA, SFDK, and maybe catch a San Jose Sharks game if I plan in the trip in the spring or fall. Thanks for great looks at these parks to give me an idea of what I'm in for! Can't wait for the next updates!
  4. $8.30 is the current minimum wage. It was $8.10 until 2018 began. I'm not sure if that is state law or just Cleveland where I am.
  5. I agree with the above trip report. I went into the park expecting a bad time but instead was treated with great ops who were friendly and good at their jobs. The rides they have are good. To me, they're totally doing the best with what the have.
  6. Was at the park today. They very adamantly tell everyone no phones in line even with cargo shorts. The don't use a metal detector so you can sneak your phone through if you keep it in your pocket. The thing is though they had a ride op or two wandering the line watching like hawks for phones. If they caught you, you were kicked out of line. I rode twice today and saw someone get kicked out 4 times. So sneaking your phone in line really only gets you the $2 back.
  7. ^ that's what I worry about. I've happily waited over an hour on multiple occasions for SV this year and had my phone on me because I need it because of family issues. If I were to put it in a locker and not see a text or something for 2 hours it would be a big deal.
  8. Knowing CP, they'll probably just leave it as is. I can't see them doing metal detectors or anything. And I'm a firm believer that if you have cargo pockets you should be allowed to keep your phone on you... But, like Robb said, it's the world we live in and if I have to, I'll pay the $2 to get a locker for an absolutely amazing coaster.
  9. Yeah that makes total sense. I didn't even think of that. The number 17 is on the poster and the new one there will be their 17th.
  10. So not to take away from or end the (well deserved) Millennium praise, but the following picture of a poster from inside the park was posted to Twitter. The Twitter user who posted it won't respond to questions asking where the poster was but I assume it's in the Cedar Creek Mine Ride area. I will most likely be at the park tomorrow and I'll look for the poster. If this is real, it sure sounds like CP has something up their sleeve.
  11. This is just the start of what may be a very very interesting 2019 coaster class.
  12. Being from Cleveland, I feel like I'm supposed to hate the name and area around the ride but honestly I think it's pretty cool. I wish more parks would take local sports teams and incorporate them into the park. And the ride itself looks absolutely bonkers. It's gonna be so strange but so awesome. Can't wait. That all being said, if it was themed to the Penguins I would have to boycott the ride #CBJ
  13. How awesome for your son and your family. Stories like these always make me happy. Can't wait to hear what he thinks about Behemoth!
  14. The fact that they don't need to wait for the next train to completely return is fantastic, and three trains testing is good news as well. That's how it was running during the first rider benefit. A line all the way down the tunnel and through 1 switchback took about 25 minutes. Granted, fastlane wasn't an issue that day.
  15. Don't get me started on that place. Yikes.
  16. Staffing is a major issue at food places but the park is so dead both days that you'll have no issues riding. Expect longer lines at food places than at most coasters.
  17. Dragster now dumps you into the station. They use the left ramp for fast lane and right side for everyone else. When you get to the top of the ramp the grouper tells you which side to go to.
  18. I've only been riding in rows one and two...
  19. Oh god I hope. I love to pay everything at once and that sale is such an amazing deal.
  20. I have a new found appreciation for GK. I've been riding it more recently and agree it is just fun. It does a great job of showing that it doesn't have to be super thrilling to be fun. It's just a nice, smooth ride that to me is worth a lap or two every visit.
  21. Then there's me who rides Mystic as many times as it takes to get all three monsters and all three songs each time I visit lol. That and Mystic Timbers is a totally kick ass ride.
  22. Am I the only one here who still loves blue streak? Well, at least if I stay out of the third row of a car?
  23. This is the most enjoyable this thread has been in a long time. Cats and roller coasters.
